Refreshing to hear a lad who talks sense, doesn’t over complicate things and doesn’t spout a load of bull. Dressed to fish and not go clubbing and actually talks English instead of the usual gangsta, street drivel. Fantastic ambassador and a credit to Fox; well done Tom 👍
Another great tips video. The one thing that has always impressed me about Fox & their videos is how they always emphasise that while other companies say you have to fish this way, they make a point of making sure you find what is needed to suit your fishing and capability. Like he even admits that he doesn’t certain types of rods or weights and set ups cos they don’t suit him where as to others its the opposite.
Raymond you do know you have a pause button on your remote. It's a great feature and if you use it you can still watch Tom... and have your tea nice and warm 😊
If you can't learn from these videos by Tom you need to take up table tennis he explains everything clearly and to point it amazes me how many anglers I actually no who have been fishing for decades and don't have a clue I just tell them to watch videos like this great watch
Fresh Water Fishermen nah. Its so the lid doesnt break on the retrieve. Tom said boilies alone are too light .......plus the hinges are crap on the Fox spods
Nice video and some great tips, thanks. One question, what do you use on the reel as backing line before adding the Exocet mainline? I have experimented using backing line with same diameter as mainline and also much thinner, but still struggle with good line lay.
This is really helpful because Im really getting into carp fishing. I've always fishing like lure fishing and pike fishing But im not sure what flavour boilies because its so overwhelming because there are so many flavour. Could people comment down below if you have any good boilie flavours for medium lakes
You're best off asking what others use on the particular lake. They can often become tuned into a specific flavour, depending on what is commonly used. Also, just experiment! 😊
I like english style carpfishing, but why, in a Lake with no snags the lead has always to trop off. 10 Fish ten leads in the water. Its the same in Korda vids. The rest is very great! Nice Video
Nice work Tom, seen you smash a few of those leads at oxford 👍 I like to use the bag approach as my spodding skills arnt great and was wondering in your professional option weather I would benefit from changing from my scope 10ft to fox x4 10ft 3.5lb ( I prefer the 10ft pack down size and can still get the distance I need 90% of the time) so fix x4 10ft 3.5lb a good bag rod or do I really need the 12fters 👍
If your thinking of a change and own scopes . I would defo consider some 12ft 50mm ring rods in 3lb with a nice through action plenty of power for uk fishing .You mention seeing Tom in oxford .Linear i guess could easily get right out on the brasenose lakes .Tight lines
Nice video Very talented angler would have been good if a swim half way down the venue had been chosen rather than the dam wall with all the roped off Areas and fishing tight to them
no, that would be stupid and could lead to you losing a rod. That's what the line markers are for. Once clipped up mark the line so you don't have to wrap up every time
@@jimwocha4949 that's what I thought, was interested to see how he clipped up after a fish. I assume he recasts winds Back to the line marker for the final cast.
Hi Wayne. Sorry, my post came over a bit aggressive! Yes, that's how I do it. Cast elsewhere then wind it back until the marker hits the tip ring. Too many tangles trying to wrap up at night otherwise.
nice one EMMERDALE , all you got to do now is learn to be a bit more courteous to your fellow anglers and you got it made ,ie move your van off the middle of the road so others can get around the lake instead of just looking and doing sod all about it. when asked , making people reverse all the way back ,,your not a SUPPER STAR YET LIKE , GOOD OLD DAVE LANE
This is the difference between pet fishing & wild fish. My 3.5TC is at full compression every fish, maybe it’s the blanks Fox uses cheap chinese junk like the FX11 reels. No customer service either

'usual gangster, street drival' erm what?
He's obviously talking about nash.
He's probably forgot about the days of his youth and now hes a grumpy old Wayne
Fox must never lose this lad to their opposition!!!!! He is absolute gold.
👍 For me the most clued up talented carp angler in the UK 🎣🐟
Tom Maker is a quiet genius. You rock!

A good introduction to fishing at range. Simple, clear and easy to replicate advice. To angler, credit to Fox 👍🏻
What a star and even if you seen him on the bank he's a gent. Great stuff Tom
Great work there. Good to see Fox letting him fish the way he does and not force him to use/sell loads of unnecessary tackle.
You seen this guy long distance casting?......woww!!,tom says it like it is,not big headed, just knows all about carping, always watch his vids
I started watching this vid and my wife said dinners ready lol....ten mins later i was still watching tom
Raymond you do know you have a pause button on your remote. It's a great feature and if you use it you can still watch Tom... and have your tea nice and warm 😊
Finally a top angler who agrees with me on using tap water for baits. I too have never found it to be a problem
seth armstrong taught him that
troy wales 😂😂😂
Great vid Tom simple tips to help us out .look forward to the next one
Toms the man

brillant information as usual tom excellent
Absolute legend this lad 👍
he also stars in emmerdale
Very enjoyable 🎣🎣
Proper Lad , tells it how it is 👊🏼🎣
Ahhhh and that bloke in the background... he probably better can pack down 😂😂😂 seeing Tom catching so fast and regular. 🙈🙈🙈
Great information there tom and a pleasure to watch 👍👍🎣🎣tight lines from the NORTHERN CARP FREAKS TH-cam
Solid angler 👍🏻
I like shimano reels as they come with spool reducers so no need for backing.
I like Shimano reels as I think they are just a better reel for the money.
Great video. Great tips there. Only 1 question.. why have you drilled holes in your fox spomb??
Fresh Water Fishermen nah. Its so the lid doesnt break on the retrieve. Tom said boilies alone are too light .......plus the hinges are crap on the Fox spods
It aids the retrieval.
Nice one guys!
👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍 brilliant top video
Fox leading the way. bring back that cross weave on the original worriers pleeeease

Ever fished zigs at durleigh at a shorter range????
nice one emmerdale

Easier to play the fish
Nice reels

You will Probably loose that playing action in a high tc .Short rods can normally be very stiff
Ben Collins cheers for comment,,,, currently use 3lb scope but thinking of s change but never really use 12fters

Ben Collins cheers fella appreciate the advise, still might keep the scopes and simply add a set of 12fters the kit 😉
4:43 looks like a tiny man standing on the buoys lol
Question - Did you drill the holes in the impact spod? If so what difference does it make if any
Anthony Meikle he did, the holes help the retrieve.
What knot do you use to tie your braided leader to your main line
Probabaly The Allbright Knot
How do u fish tight lines an not loose your rod
What buzz bars hes using called?
what is this song called?
Go up north and fish see wht ya catch 😉
whats the bobbins?
David Howarth they are the Black Label Dumpy Bobbins
Nice video
Very talented angler would have been good if a swim half way down the venue had been chosen rather than the dam wall with all the roped off Areas and fishing tight to them
Hi Pete, Tom was not fishing tight to the ropes. he was at least 30-40 yards away from them.
Maybee 10 _20 yards from the booms (30 mins)
That's not realy my point
Would have made it a better video had he been in open water
Anyone know what spod braid hes using
Spomb braid 20lb 0.19 diameter 50lb spomb shock leader
Great video Tom, one question and it's do you keep the line in the clip after you've made the cast?
Cheers.
no, that would be stupid and could lead to you losing a rod. That's what the line markers are for. Once clipped up mark the line so you don't have to wrap up every time

Hate to see fish being returned into water too shallow, fish swimming in its side to get away.
Yeah that defeats all the previous fish care.....
