I can’t understand why Mr. Austin is not world famous. Give him time, and I think he will be. I think in time we will see volumes of his arrangements published for all of us players. All I Gotta do is learn all of his arrangements and get a job as a cocktail pianist somewhere. He’s the best. A huge fan, and he knows it. Jim
I will be home for Christmas to play this song, definitely! It is a perfect playing to comfort me while we all keep distancing each other. Thanks for giving us a gorgeous Christmas gift. HAPPY warm Christmas 🎄
So smooth I slipped off the piano stool, seriously it's a work of art , Rupert has an uncanny talent and if more were like him the world would be a better place
Thank you, Rupert. I'll be buying it soon. This song will be receiving a lot of play this year because of the virus and having to stay in place. It was arranged as a sentimental Christmas song during WWII. It's scarily appropriate now, in the midst of another war. Your interpretation is magical and melancholy...who could ask for anything more?
@MsSkundGuy - People may not realize it, but with this pandemic going on we are engaged in World War III, and we don’t have enough soldiers, but we have way too many deserters who are not socially distancing and wearing masks.
Rupert's arrangements are awesome! If you're looking for so more material, I just posted my rendition of O come all ye faithful. It's pretty advanced but super fun. Give it a shot!

Thanks for listening. It is a pretty song, and I have to admit that my wife and I listen to Michael Buble's version every year when we decorate our Christmas tree
@@rupertaustin I'd love to speak to you at some stage in the next couple of months as I am about to (hopefully) begin my first year of uni studying a bachelor of music specialising in jazz and improv on piano. Do you have a book with all your music in it? I bought White Christmas on Sheet Music and love it. I would like to get all your Christmas music in a spiral bound ideally. When I can play them all to the standard you've written them, I will be very happy.
Hello, thanks for your interest. Unfortunately all these lovely old songs are still protected by copyright and I have have no freedom to sell them as a collection. The best I can do is sell them individually at Sheet Music Plus / Sheet Music Direct who ensure the required proprtion of the sales goes to the copyright holder. They do not allow publication of collections - each title must be sold separately.
@@rupertaustin no problem. I bought them all anyway. Been trying them out today. It's going to take me a while to play them as well as you do but they are joyous. I discovered you via a pianist on a Facebook group I'm in. I'd bought your White Christmas before he even finished playing it.
Hello Rupert, I am wishing to purchase this sheet music, but I am wondering also is it possible to purchase the midi file for this arrangement await your reply with thanks kind regards Noeline
It initially sounds more like a major 7th chord when the Eb is in the bass but the F root then appears and it leads nicely to the Bb9 chord as you said, so I prefer to understand it as Fm9.
Beautiful! Nicely done. M. 10 should be G7 not E7, btw. I wonder: why do you use G#'s instead of Ab's on a G7b9 chord? Is it to help visually 'see' the shape as an E7 above G?
Well spotted; I need to correct that chord symbol in M9. Should be G13(b9). I usually notate with the aim of easiest readability as that is the foremost consideration for the performer rather than strictly correct music theory. In this piece I use G13(b9) a lot, which usually realized with an E major triad over a G/B/F left hand, and I think it reads more easily with the G# rather than Ab.
Love this piece! Great arrangement. I just posted my rendition of O Come All Ye Faithful. It's pretty advanced but super fun. Check it out. Merry Christmas & God bless!

Glad you enjoyed it. It is a kind of sad song I think, even for those lucky enough to be home whenever they choose.
