I have been playing this piece on my Yamaha U1 every weekend for the last four months and I love it more every time I play it. I would not have this inner happiness without your generosity and your musical mind, dear Mr Austin.
Mr Austin, this arrangement is so beautiful. Db is my favorite key signature. It just easiest for me. I am fortunate to have found an artist who never fails to please. Master Easher is a bright light. I just discovered his composition for organ. Something Deep. I enjoyed it very much. My neighbor had a pipe organ in her home. She had Ph.D. She attempted to teach me. I was so bad at it I think it killed her. She was in he 90’s. Our elderly friends are so sensitive. I jest of course.
Ah, Db is also my favourite major key. It has a lovely rich sound but also fits the fingers very well for scales and arpeggios I find. I bought Easher a high quality 3 manual electric organ (with full pedal board and wonderfully realistic organ sounds) back in November as he has been obsessed with pipe organs for about a year now. He is getting quite fluent with the pedals, but it is taking me longer to get used to playing with my feet. My left hand and my feet keep getting confused with each other! It is a whole lot of fun though.
@@rupertaustin I can’t stop laughing. Those confounded pedals. I too confused the left hand with the pedals. I recognized a lost caused long ago. My poor poor teacher. I was so frustrate. She said I needed to be more participatory in my learning. I was giving it my all. She just did not see it that way. I miss her very much.

pop off rupert i’ve only listened to this one and ur arrangement of just the way you are by billy joel and i’m thinking HOW did i not find ur channel sooner??!?!?!
Nice arrangement. This particular song lends itself quite well to voicings based on Barry Harris' Sixth Diminished scale which I've done when playing it in the key of Bb.
This is a really great arrangement of a wonderful song. Keep up the good work. I'm just curious why you chose to do it in Db. Anyway, I enjoyed listening to and learning from you. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Glad you like it. I worked on it years ago and I seem to remember the lead sheet I worked from was in Db. It's a nice tonality with a lovely rich sound I think.
This is definitely A Time For Love. Admitedly Close Enough For Love has a very similar mood and is a favourite of mine, and I have recorded a version of it which you can listen to here: th-cam.com/video/aDSgd7E9KS4/w-d-xo.html
Sorry, I was recently instructed to remove the pdfs for copyright reasons. I am working on getting some of my arrangements legitimately published online such that copyright owners of the original works get paid. I hope this will be done within a couple of weeks, and links will appear in the video details when available.
Hi Rupert. Fantastic work as usual. I just love playing your arrangements. They are very stylistically crafted and contain a lot of really interesting harmonies and progressions. It is very generous of you to share the sheets. Are you working on any new arrangements at the moment?
Hi Ron. Thanks for your kind comments, and I'm very glad you enjoy playing my arrangements. Unfortunately I don't have time for such things at the moment so there is nothing else planned for the foreseeable future.
@@rupertaustin I have spent a lot of my 61 years of living playing the piano, and I find your arrangements and performances of them are stunning! I am in love with everyone! I have learned so much about how to voice chords and use scale fragments for improv, along with the bass lines... Everything i've always wanted to know about jazz is demonstrated so beautifully! Thank you!! who are you, btw? do you have a Website? your fan, Riva
I’ve got the same question- Who are you Rupert? I can’t find a web page. Are you on FB? I presume you’re from the UK bc of your first name. Best regards, Jerry

I could be crazy but this isn’t A time for love. This is close enough for love. Same artist but listen to any recording and the opening is very clear

Rupert, would you consider compiling these into a sheet music anthology and selling them? It would be amazing to have them in quality print format.
No, I won't do that as there are copyright complications. Glad you like them though.
