To anyone watching this now, don't remove the orange connector. Orange Connectors and cables are airbag connectors, and if you remove the one from the center console it will send an error code that you won't have the tools to remove. The passenger light will stay on all the time. It won't actually stop the airbag from working, but because it causes the indicator light stays on, you won't know it when your airbag actually does fail.
2000 4runner SR5 here, great video for sure. It was good to see where you had a couple issues during speaker install to try and avoid myself. Good post, will be attempting in a couple weeks as I order in my parts. Thanks for the info
I'm about to do the same install. I got a few question for you. 1)Why didn't you use an adapter harness for the rears like how you did for the front speakers? 2) The front and rear speakers use the same connector? (I'm going to order some adapters but haven't got the change to open up my door panels yet).
I’m having issues installing my new head unit, and sub, and have a amp. It all powers on and stuff and the head works and sub with put out bass but my door speakers aren’t working. And I think it’s because I need to bypass the amp? Thoughts!?
I'm not getting any power from the yellow (memory) wire feeding the stereo in my 2000 4Runner. No fuses are blown in the left knee location, nor under the hood. Any ideas? Everything else seems to be working except for the stereo system.

Nice Limited model. I'm jelly because you have the wood grain center console paneling. Mine broke and I can't find a replacement.
What did you do about the tweeters?
Tweeters???
Did you have any issues with putting the 6.5" in the rear doors? I've heard you need to cut metal on the door.
I just needed to replace some door speakers, turns out you got the same stereo I installed a few years ago.
Great video man and man
