It's the equivalent of rubbing a funnel on your car.

Purchased one from Miracle Scrapers last year. I had the same experience. A light frost it did ok, but anything heavier and it became worthless. The plastic was also soft and it's edge deformed rather quickly.

This is not the ORIGINAL scraper. We have been selling the SCRAPE-A-ROUND ice scraper made in Sandy Utah for 13 years. They are now being copied in China, Korea, and other places. He was not using it right on the ice. After you use the small end to score the ice, you turn it over and use the large end. We scraped out Van all the way around in 20 minutes on an 1 3/4 inch ice. They work great

Thanks for the honest review. I'd thought those were garbage. I live in sask. I need a serious scraper sometimes esp when I wake up at -40°C or F (same temperature) with a half inch of freezing rain on the windows.

I use mine for ice and have not had an issue with it - but not for the snow, for removing snow - nothing beats the SnoShark for that.

The videos advertising this cone definitely don't deal with un-defrosted ice. I'd imagine it would work well if you leave your car running for 15 minutes and melting that layer of ice, but we don't got time for that when we're getting ready for work in the morning.

    • @gregtoope
      @gregtoope  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Plus that isnt gonna help get snow off of your roof or anywhere else that you need to reach. Its only probably useful in climates that barely get cold enough to produce snow or frost.

Canada. Leaf blower is next to useless. And to use your defroster you have to let your car get to temp which takes a lot of time idling at -35°C. Just scrape it. And yes winter does beat the shit out of your finish. Just the way it is.

@@aj200415 like I said we don't get much snow here in England and what we do get doesn't stay around long, also the cars I run aren't any good in the snow so you've no worry of any snow being left on them with them being garaged and not being used in the snow.
The car I use for winter, I will just brush the loose off and sit with heaters on for a minute or so till the rests gone.

Thanks, for the video. As soon as you start rubbing that crap on the windshield. I knew right away it wouldn't do the cut. In the promotional videos that thng clear the frost like butter.

Thank you for this video. I was seriously thinking of getting one. Colorado can have some thick ice on the windshield. Like yours - this wouldn't even touch it!

I do not mean to undermine you, but I have used this scraper for a while now, and it actually does work.
I use the spiked part to basically clear off a bit of the ice, to make a "starting point" for the funnel part. Then, when I use the funnel part to scrape at the edge I created using the spiked part, it actually works perfectly fine. Although admittedly, I am not from Canada and I probably haven't had any sheets of ice as thick as the ones you have there; it does a really good job on thin to medium thickness ice.. :)

well, we just had an actual ice storm last night (freezing rain for over 3 hours). woke up with a car that is completely covered in ice. This device is useless. If you get little to no actual ice it may work but at that point just run your defrost on your car for a couple of minutes. I don't want to have to carry an actual ace scraper plus this for days that I have a wee little bit of ice. An ice scraper needs to work for all levels of ice which includes ice that can be a full half-inch thick.

At first I was like maybe air circulates in the funnel...saw this and was like yeah no. Thanks brotha!

Son of Light that’s my guess as it definitely doesn’t work with real cold winter weather with real snow, ice and frost.

Thanks a lot. A Facebook Video made this look really convincing, but I was sceptical because it was just a cone with spikes on the top!

Thanks for the review. I was hyped about it until I realize it really was a cone. I thought there would be some sort of razor blades at the bottom to make the ice come off so easily.

I’d say that it only works if the worst thing you get on your car is a little frost.

I bought one for last winter. It didn't work as advertised. It required more effort than a standard scraper but barely removed any ice. I threw it in the trash, waste of money.

Have tried water? Doesn't have to be very hot, just warm.

    • @DarrenHowseMusic

You must not be in a cold climate. Warm water when exposed to extreme cold like in this scenario would freeze instantly and just make this even worse. That being said, water mixed half with isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle does work.

Kathy Wiseley I’m sure it works fine removing light snow. But so does my glove. Useless with real Ice.

Yeah, it’s not the best thing in the world, especially on hard ice like in this video, but I saw another video of a guy that had one and he still had ice on his side windows and stuff and this thing actually kicked ass compared to the handle style one he had as a test on the other windows....So it does work with snow and ice that is not hard as a rock on the windshield and windows ( as a lot of the time it is the lighter not as hard ice) and it works most of the time much faster...So just know this when buying...If you have really hard stuck on good ice, then pull out your regular scraper instead...

Well done. Certainly performs in reality much differently than what it shows in the video the manufacturer presented.
