    I just rented this up in Munising. I let my son ride my F8 Sno Pro and I rode this for the day. Although it was a cold sled to ride I have to say that I enjoyed it. I found the handling to be acceptable and the power adequate

      @repetitivemotion This seems like a great value sled. Power is the only downfall compared to most modern 600 2 strokes, but it has plenty of power for trail riding.

      @@wallacenaaz5132 actually pretty good. They buy a lot of them here for that exact reason. I think we have more problems with ripped tracks and bottoms with the undercarriages but I think that's just because our sea ice here is so rough. • @blindmango69

      @@wallacenaaz5132 honestly at least here. Once you get to minus 60 most people don't go out anyways. And for whatever reason we usually hang around -30s to -40s. And they almost always start. @chilloutyaall ปีที่แล้ว

      I have both the 600 Ace and 600 EFI. The 2stroke is definitely snappier and faster as it has 85hp vs 60hp. The Ace will click along at 50mph all day. The handling is similar. The Ace motor will last forever.

  • @felineprime4228
    @felineprime4228 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    you got it barely cracked and cruises at 50.
    crack it a little more (less than 1/2) and you'd be cruising at 70.
    My guess is if you "cracked" the throttle just past the 3/4 mark you could probably cruise across a very long lake at 80.
    My co-workers have 550 fans (20' & 21') THEY top out at 70 max. with i think 50 hp?
    I guess my point is maybe you're just not a fan because I think that would go 90 if you had a 1 mile road to play on.

    They removed all the sound reading from insides of panels and the shell around the exhaust with its a way to cheapen them up. I figured there would be more cock pit nose. Also if using etec oil the valves almost never need to be cleaned. Only time I clean them anymore is if I have them apart for another maintenance job mostly on older etec engine that have below design. It’s rare to get them to gum up.

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was quite a bit louder than other ski doo sleds I’ve ran. And I agree the synthetic oil helps keep the valves clean. I still usually clean any of mine after about 1500 miles of use and they usually have some build up on them by then.

    Great review. I'm considering one of these as a second sled for our family. I have a 600r that I ride. Three things that I don't like . The seat is way too small. The windshield is too small and the bog your talking about. So if I was to spend more money to upgrade the seat and shield , is it worth it or bump up to the TNT ? IDK. I might consider a used etec sled. It's a hard decision. Thanks for the ride.

      For a brand new sled with a warranty I think it’s a good buy. The seat is very small and soft however after the ride I took I really didn’t mind it that much.
      The windshield has no protection at all that’s the first thing I would upgrade... the bog is due to the lack of power Valves and that’s something your probably not going to fix.
      If your not to concerned with power my choice would be get this sled.

      If there are any local places around you that rent them. It would be a good idea to go try one out and get a feel for it. Everybody has a different preference.

      @@legendfpv the 600r is the second generation on the etec and has power valves. This engine and the 600r are very different engines.

    great review but you cant compare it to any of skidoos higher priced models..no its not a 125hp etech!!! the 600 etech here in canada is at least 4000 dollars more.. not a fair comparison.this sleds power reminds me of my first ever brand new skidoo which was a 1993 formula plus 580 and it made 85 to 90 hp.. very good sled non the less!! you gotta remember trail speed is maximum 30 mph!!

    you mention boggy several times in the video. my expedition does not bog at all!! i get 16mpg canadian so approx 150 miles per tank !! or 17.7l per 100 kms

      Could have been an issue with the sled, or it could of been that I’m use to more of a crisp low end power like the etec has.

      They are on correctly... you did make me look at the video again though. The preload adjustment is supposed to be on the bottom.

    It’s better to buy the tundra sport because it cost the same as the mxz but the same 137 inch long track

      @@michaelgmcauliffe That's the one to get, a 'jack of all trades' sled. The Tundra front ends are not great for anyone doing any amount of trail riding.
