Reefer addicts: In 1936, there was a public-service movie called Reefer Madness, which showed how dangerous (it made you laugh uncontrollably) and addictive marijuana was. Even into the 1960's, that movie was pretty much the full extent of the public's knowledge of drugs. ALL drugs were sort of rolled into one as far as most people were concerned. (Movie was intended to be serious but it really is a hoot.)
For sure. We laughed because marijuana today has a very different connotation.
@17:00 "Make like a👩✈️ tree and leave!" ( Leaf)
AKA "make like a banana and split"
Ah! Makes sense haha
This is a movie that I never get tired of. Great reaction!!
Thank you!
The guy with the megaphone in the auditorium who told Marty his music was just too darn loud was Huey Lewis, singer of the soundtrack song "Power of Love."
Yes, we learned that in the post discussion. Thank you for sharing! Crazy!
In defense of 80’s interior design, their first home wasn’t supposed to be very nice and actually looked more 70’s because they weren’t exactly wealthy enough to have a modern looking home. Their house after he returns from the past is a much better example of a well appointed 80’s interior.
1. Cranky principal Strickland/James Tolkan also played the ship's squadron leader in "Top Gun".
2. The teacher that tells Marty, "I'm afraid you're just too darn loud" is Huey Lewis himself. (Heart of rock and roll)
3. Eric Stoltz was first cast as Marty, but he didn't play well with others and didn't produce what they were looking for, so he was fired. Some of his long shots are still in the movie.
4. The flammable material set on fire with the model exercise had to have been put there on purpose.
5. It's always fun to see how people react to the Marty and his mom car scene.
6. George McFly/Crispin Glover didn't like that the story ended with the family being prosperous.
7. Twin Pines Mall becomes Lone Pine Mall when Marty takes one out when he goes back to 1955.
8. IMVHO part II is the best of the trifecta.
9. If you haven't already checkout an OUTSTANDING movie where Christopher Lloyd plays the heavy you must do "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".
Thank you for the fun facts!
@5:05 That is Peanut Brittle. One doesn't usually eat it at dinner, though. 😅
Haha makes sense since I’m allergic to peanuts and have never had it
They cut a scene just before this where a neighbor comes to the door with his son selling peanut brittle for some school or scout project, and talks George into buying the ENTIRE lot. The scene was to show how George was such a push-over. And in this scene here, he is eating said peanut brittle in a vain attempt to eat a lot of it.
@@johnnehrich9601 Will have to check it out then.
@@joshandcasey On TH-cam:
back to the future all deleted scenes
It's supposed to be "Make like a tree and leaf/leave!"
Ah right, thanks!
The character of 'Rick' in Rick and Morty was modelled after both 'Doc' Brown and Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards. Probably the name was, too.
Ah, makes sense.
Almost half of the movie had to be re-shot when Fox took over the role of Marty when Eric Stoltz was fired.
Yikes! That's a lot to re-shoot!
"Creepy," "stalkers."
I'm not sure it's creepy or that the word "stalker" is descriptive of a high school girl trying to find out about a boy in her school (as far as she knows). Isn't that kind of thing normal?
It was more the fact that she followed him home that we found strange.
De mis películas favoritas de ciencia ficción.
Aunque las dos es la que más me gusta.
Buen canal saludos🤚🤚
Gracias!
