It's not necessary, but pulling your radiator core support in your truck really does make pulling the engine a lot easier.
And it's not as hard as you may think so let's pull this sucker!

Thank you sir. It's good to hear the feedback. These videos and articles aren't worth making if they aren't helping someone.

Awesome write up bud. I have a ‘94 and it still has the original radiator. Was thinking of just sticking with the original but after this write up I’ll be buying this upgrade. Don’t think i need the coating as I’m in SoCall.

Well, the coating acts differently than you'd think it does. It helps get rid of the heat faster, so if you are in a warmer climate like southern California, you'd need it more.
But really, it's for people in very extreme heat or who tow heavy. So really, you'll probably do ok without it.
Personally, if you can justify the cost, I'd get it anyway since you never know when you might need it.

I try to cover anything that could cause any issues. In this case not only did I have to hold the camera with one hand (and needed both to pull it loose), but you just grab it and wiggle it free.
If you have any different issues with your truck, there's no way for me to know or be able to cover that.
