Just stumbled on this video.. Being a former mechanic myself i wouldn't like to do a clutch replacement on the ground, outside in the rain etc. So respect for that! The van you did, i changed a clutch on a 2008 Boxer, 3.0HDi (which is kind of the same van). I did it on a lift and that gearbox was one heavy SOB. To do that on the floor, on your own.. You must have trained 😅

I'm going to go ahead and respond to my own comment. I installed the completed LUK repset on my E46 M3, including the release bearing provided. The clutch pedal is nice and light, gears engage smoothly, and no noise from the release bearing. Apparently, that design with the additional movement provides flexibility for various angles. Great kit, no issues noted.
My mates moan like hell when they have a clutch to do on a baby car they got ramps and snap tools But this legend is just a no nonsense guy gets the job done.

@@WMCS I get them off a few of my mates garages plus mihe ,, 60 points each dual jas kit , 150 or 300 each clutch , mounts up , I managed to order a cooling system filler last month , about 30000 points 😎😎😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍, keep saving them Kevin 👍👍, the citroen was one heavy gearbox 💪💪💪💪💪💪

Hallo Kevin, thank you for your answer... I have please still one question more. I must buy all things new (impact wrench, extensions, nuts...). Do you recommend all 1/2" because it is not so heavy and more filigran for working or 3/4" because it is more stable and has more power to open screws. May be you have 1/2" because you already had such nuts. I need it for a Citroen Jumper. I want to go by this car to mongolia and that´s why I watched your video. Anybody here wrote that your are a magician, I fully agree.... 🙂
Long reach ratchet 3/8 because the head is a good size for working on cars. The impact gun has to be 1/2 drive a 3/8 is more for maybe push bike repairs
Hallo Kevin, my question was regarding the impact gun, but not the 3/8". The Milwaukee M18 one FHIWF is possible to obtain with 1/2" and 3/4". But when I understand you rightly you would not buy a 3/4", because 1/2" is enough?@@WMCS

Can you explain me why people in uk call you instead of going to a local garage? I would love to tring your way but here people go to the garage, there is a video where you talk about your journey?? @@WMCS never turn down the job, money is money. I was just curious as to the owner's diagnosis. My boxer is still on the original clutch at 150k. Most of the clutch issues on these seem to be slave cylinder or bleeding related.

Was the Valeo clutch customer supplied? I’ve never been a fan of them but for my partners Hyundai Getz 1.4 Valeo is the OEM supplier 🫤 and I’ve been told LuK aren’t a good fit on them.
I would never mix and match parts on VAG engines as they don’t work. But the agent tripled assured me that they had been superseded and in the end I went with his word…. But that turned out to not be the case 😁🍻

This dude is the man! It takes me 1 week to do a clutch in my home garage. How do those Luk release bearings hold up over time?
I'm going to go ahead and respond to my own comment. I installed the completed LUK repset on my E46 M3, including the release bearing provided. The clutch pedal is nice and light, gears engage smoothly, and no noise from the release bearing. Apparently, that design with the additional movement provides flexibility for various angles. Great kit, no issues noted.

According to MOT that first van was only 32,090 miles. Too low for first clutch work. Probably faulty LUK duall mass flywheel but after 30k ? Wtf
Not necessarily…. Carrying very heavy load or towing work equipment on trailers is the normal mileage for a new clutch 30-40k miles.

36k miles on that van on last MOT. Did it really need a clutch? Friction plate still looked good. Maybe it needed bleeding?

Always same day repair … I always carry lots of spare bolts for any eventuality
