  • My previous roller was cheap and broke the first time I used it. I decided that I needed to make a better one, so this was my attempt. I hope you like it!

take some time and look at ur welders settings. your welds is not the worst I have seen, but you should try fiddling with the settings

great little project that roller will be a good addition to your workshop nice job well done. I think you need to check your welder settings looks like the burn back needs to be taken back it needs to be burning closer to your tip, wire speed probably needs to increase a bit and either your amperage or voltage needs turned turn up depending which control you have 🙂

Yeah my welder is sort of a POS and I am terrible at finding the right settings. Little by little it's getting better but it still feels a lot like dark magic to me. I'll get there eventually. Thank you for the tip! 👍

Your welding amperage is to low, and you need to get the tip closer to the material.

Yeah, DEFINITELY realize about half way through that the tip was too far away. I'm running on 120, is it possible to get my amperage higher with this? I'm pretty close to maxed out already.

@drjonesbuilds If you've only got 120v available, your best bet is to do a good bevel, pre heat with a torch and do multiple passes. A 220v welder would be better, but I know that's not always do able.
