      5:47-58, showed me that
      The Parable of the Talents, Matthew 25:14-30, is not about the talents but the work I do on myself for Christ. If I come here and do not grow then there are consequences on earth and in heaven.
      I can't fix myself? Wow I'm not broken? Woohoo!!😃

    “Loving yourself is a decision, not a destination”. Wow, I have to admit that loving myself was a goal of mine. This video put things way more into perspective, though.

    • @juliakristinamah

      It's a powerful one - isn't it? I tried for a long time to "get to it" instead of realizing I always had it.

    The goal of absolute certainty really hit me. I never realized that most of my anxiety is about this goal. It's hard to let go of though.

    • @juliakristinamah
      @juliakristinamah  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're not wrong. Much of anxiety is based on this premise - the antidote is to then start working on leaning into trust.

    Hi, im from Holland. I feel so much connection when i hear that this kind of struggle is from all over the world. It feels like support and comfort. For me i just want to live my best life with all the struggle there is, i always find a lifht and if not im just going to sit for a while and cry or shout or whatever, and than go on with my life. Thank you Julia for the effort you do to support us. Be blessed all of you

    The first one for me for the past 31 years. My mom died when I was 9 and I blamed myself (and still do) for her dying. It got worse when my dad, brother, uncle, and grandad died before I left elementary school.
    And my mind won't let me forget my failure. Since the night my mom died, I've relived her and my family dying every night in my dreams. I've watched her die over 11,000 times.

    This is a video that addresses one of my biggest problems, I’ve been feeling somewhat stagnant for a little while now and it’s almost certainly because I often set very high/unrealistic expectations! I hope you’re having a terrific week! ❤️

      @@juliakristinamah I really appreciated hearing you discuss that failure is integral to learning and growth, which is something my job has helped me learn! I used to be a huge perfectionist (still am but to a lesser extent), and always believed I needed to breeze through things or would get upset when things don’t go the way I wanted. It just wasn’t realistic

    Hello Julia,
    That one where you said "you will never fix yourself because you´re not broken" wow...that one really hit deep. It´s not easy embracing that concept because I feel like I struggle a lot with my mind, but as you said, there are only things and situations that I have to deal with, that doesn´t mean that I´m broken.
    Thanks for this, truly. Looking forward to watch more videos

    Wow Julia. So much insight in such a small amount of time. I think all of these goals i work on but i don't consider them as goals but little successes. Every day is a new day. I try and learn from my mistakes. I get confused easy. Being autistic and taking things too literal is one of my weaknesses. I cant distinguish sometimes whether someone is joking or being serious. But with emotional roadblocks growing up i just believe everything i hear. Its a vicious cycle. Thanks for putting yourself out there. Ryan.

    I've caught myself the past few days/weeks getting stuck in the 'I'll be able to relax, rest, be peaceful when... is reached/fixed', and I know rationally it doesn't work that way, that I need to be able to take care of myself and rest in the here and now, however uncertain my life feels now... But it's hard. I had my first week at a new job, after being at home for 2 years, AND at the same time getting through a breakup, mourning that loss, looking for a new place, moving and cleaning out my stuff... And I should be happy. The job is great, and i move next week, but my thoughts keep veering towards working, and working, and thinking I can only relax after the move...

    This video was amazing!! The one that described me the most is the goal of having certainity....particularly for me as a single mom....I worry myself sick about my kids health and if I am.not worrying about that I am worrying about ending up alone (never finding a life partner). Both of those areas I have been so fearful of and so desperately anxious on a daily basis. I really don't want my fear of the future wreck my present anymore.

    Perfectionism and afraid of failure is a big struggle I want to get through. If I set myself to never make a mistake I am putting more stress on myself than I need to and it doesn't make life feel worthwhile. Basically, changing our views about things will help us feel and do better.

  • @marinagentilcore
    @marinagentilcore 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Hi, thank you for sharing this! I resonate a lot with the fear of failure, and also with trying to control the outcome of things that haven't happened yet. I am not yet at the point of feeling "good enough" or accepting myself totally, however I am moving forward by releasing my grip on unhelpful thoughts. I also feel like the shadow side of "self-love" is using it as another goal to reach.

    • @juliakristinamah

    I really wish I knew this much more early on with my life and that more people around me say these things to me....
    Especially the "you can make your life easy/convenient if you do this/that"
    Because the disappointment and self-blame from these (very) deeply rooted thoughts just destroys me so much....
    I am trying to unwind these beliefs/thoughts but it's so hard....

    At least some of these points are embedded in the religious teachings of Islam, one of them being the idea of 'Tawakkul', i.e. having trust in God, which doesn't negate your taking the necessary material steps to make things happen, but you leave the rest in the hands of the Creator. That way, you don't feel any kind of frustration, but you also don't fall into the trap of 'not doing the work'. It's summarized in a famous Prophetic Narration that says, "Tie your Camel and then Trust in Allah" - al-Tirmidhī

    The trick is to have no specific goals because having a goal is something that creates stubbornness and we all know since the kindergarten that we can't always get what we want. That's why it's immature to harbour specific goals with a specific roadmap from a mind's vantage point because It's not the mind that creates what pops up in our realities.
    The mind's outliook is useless and as the proverb goes : Man makes plans and God laughs.
    To be meditated....
    The ego would like to claim that It is powerful but It's an illusion. The ego itself is an illusion as well as the body.
    We live a life that is already done and It's not an easy thing to grasp for the mind that thinks that It can control everything. It's because It is afraid to die, to age.
    Let's the life itself within us unfold what It is supposed to according to its own experience from an eternal life's vantage point which is in another dimension than the ego's one.

    Odd stuff. People respond like what is being said is real and important. People make goals. People are silly and weak. All people are silly and weak. All people, all of them. This person talking in this video is doing so to recieve money from people clicking the video and clicking subscribe and such. This video and all such videos related are not of importance to any usless person watching them. Move along and dismiss these things. Keep making goals because that is the kind of person you are. Of course you wont reach the goal. Just stop watching other folks tell you what they think life is.

    • @rileytomczak2895
      @rileytomczak2895 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is real and important. Its not about setting goals. Trying to do something and failing is better than being paralyzed by the fear to not start because of the chance of failure. I don’t see why your going to disrespect her for sharing. Your life sounds like bummer if you think people are silly and weak. Its sounds like thats what you think of yourself and your ultimately responsible for that. Its up to you wether or not you want to change.
