One tip. After washing if your cutting board doesn't have feet on the bottom to give it air flow and space underneath, you should let it dry standing on edge that way it have full air flow. If not over time it will start to cup because one side is drying at a different rate than the other. This is the biggest killer of cutting boards I have seen.

Great idea for a video.! People often get so wrapped up in the cook, that they often forget the maintenance that comes with cooking in general, as well as running a smoker etc. Kudos Ry!

Great video, I make cutting boards like these and you are spot on. When I make them I put about 6 coats on before selling them and I also send directions on how and when to re-coat. Now maybe I'll send them this video to take all of the guess work out of how to doit.

Sorry got to rant....Great job on the CB vid. That's how you do do it...straight to the point...unless it was a mistake...just blows my mind why you'd get a thumbs down on a honest, to the point video...🤯
Keep up the great work Ry....👍❤👍

It always amazed me when I see those Taco stands using a tree stump and how well they are cured, I've asked them how old is the chopping block/stump, 10-15 years! Well preserved almost the same method your using!

Question, do you have any polyurethane cutting boards? I just bought 2, 21x15 polyurethane cutting boards this last weekend.
I also have 4 wood cutting boards and do this with mineral oil every 2 weeks.

Steak knives can also be seasoned the same way if they have wood handles. I never thought of it until "we" noticed all the steak knives had cracks from years of hand washing.
