Take care of your cutting boards because they take care of you. All you need is some mineral oil and a rag, and you can turn that dry wood cutting board into a shiny beautiful thing. Look for mineral oil or mystery oil from Boos, don't use cooking oils because they will go rancid and ruin your cutting board.

Great video. I renovated my kitchen and there was a 24” , 2” thick butcher block insert as the counter. During demo, I saved that, replaced with granite. I sanded it down, treated it with Boo’s mineral oil and protector cream. Came out beautiful. Besides cooking, I bake breads so do my dough on it. The mineral oil helps with dough not sticking and used as a cutting board.

What a difference three years makes. Bobby recommends using plastic for raw meat. His latest videos say never use plastic cutting boards due to getting microplastics into your food.
I’ve watched other videos that washing it off with hot soapy water and having it lab tested shows it’s as clean as a clean plastic one. You can also use vinegar then hydrogen peroxide on it to disinfect.

It's pretty much as the video describes. Don't use raw meat on wood cutting boards. Neither should dull your knives like a stone/ glass/ crystal cutting board would, but even well-seasoned wood will harbor bacteria, plastic/ resin/ etc should not.

So your videos always are geared to healthy organic options, yet you use mineral oil which is a petroleum based product and questionable if it is food safe. Don't trust the FDA they are bought and paid for by the lobbyists. What are your thoughts on organic fractionated coconut oil? Can't find this stuff anywhere but it is supposed to be healthy because it is natural and not a derivative of petroleum
