I have been hearing nothing but good things about those Hest mattresses, and my concern has also been being able to close up my Alucab Gen 3.1 without any issues. Thanks for the video George!
We stuck a 3” Amazon memory foam topper onto our original Alu Cab 3.1 RTT mattress. The original mattress sucked and the topper made the comfort level it significantly better. The topper required some trimming as the original mattress slides under the lip of the interior of the 3.1. The trimming also allowed for being able to close the tent. Adding the topper has made us lose the ability to store bedding and pillows in the tent while closed. Will be looking for a dual layer memory foam mattress with custom specs to prep for 2024 expeditions.
Stoked you love your new HEST Dually. They fit the Alu-Cab perfectly and thanks for sharing! Keep us posted on how well the pad holds up. Looking forward to your HEST Dog Bed review.
Has anyone tried fitting one of these into the Freespirit Recreation Evolution V1 49" wide roof-top tents? That tent is 49" wide, and this (the Dually Long) is 50" wide. And I'm not sure about the thickness....
Been wanting one for my GFC but they are just a bit too bulky for the platform. They recently posted in the forum so my hope is they make a custom setup for campers like ours.
Because of you.... I just ordered one for my Vagabond 😁
How did it fit in the vagabond? Could you close it ? @jasonmarkley6164
It fits great and yes it closes. Just note there are two sizes. I bought the long narrow version. Make sure you double check the measurements.
I ended up getting there new rtt model, fits perfect in the vagabond .
Great mattress! Love mine 💪🏼😎

That checked all my boxes. Comfortable mattress and more importantly to me, a hard shell RTT that holds ALL my bedding.
Which Hest Mattress fits the canopy camper? Thk u

All of our pads are 3.9 inches thick. Hope that helps. Also since they are memory foam that one inch might squeeze into your 49" wide RTT.
Good video…. Do you sleep heads to the front into the wedge or heads to the back of the camper?
Head towards the back of the camper

Yeah unfortunately my buddy with the gfc has to remove it and bring it down every time. Hopefully they make something for the gfc platform soon

It is a really nice mattress, but expensive.. REI has them for 500.00
