- In this video, I'm continuing down the path to find the best possible sleep system for clamshell style roof top tents. As we all know, the stock mattresses that come in these things are not great and one of the most important things, especially when you're on a longer trip is to get a good nights rest.
Enter, the Hest sleep system. With enhanced polyfoam in the mattress, a pillow that folds out of it's own integrated weatherproof carrying bag, and a custom, fitted sheet to keep your mattress clean, these products from Hest are a real treat for sleeping in a RTT.
Check out the full video to see the features and how it all goes together, especially if you have a clamshell style RTT. However, whether you're a ground camper, tent camper, or even hammock camper, this mattress would be a killer upgrade for any sleep set up.
As mentioned in the video, below are links to all the items shown in the video plus some of the other variants as well.

Got my Hest Foamy Wide a year ago because I was looking for something more comfortable than the foam pad that I had (which was so thin that it felt like it wasn't there at all). The Hest was so much more comfortable to sleep on, but what really surprised me was how well it insulated me from the ground in my tent. Convinced the wife to get one herself so we can replace our air mattress. Downside to the Hest is how bulky it is when rolled up, but I'm willing to trade some room in my vehicle for a better night's sleep.
Right, that was exactly my thought. They are a little big, but no need for a pump or inflating/deflating which takes time and causes a fair amount of noise. And they're really comfy, :D.
I can always rely on you to help me with all of my camping needs! These items are a little out of my budget but seem worth it for my set up. I love how compact everything is.
Thank you for your videos Fletch!
No problem! Thanks for watching and glad it was helpful!
Thanks Fletch very much appreciated your overview on the hest bedding, again keep doing what your doing brah, hope to meet you someday soon, Mahalo Chris
Thanks Chris! Appreciate you!
I have two of the camping pillows and they’re small and compact that I leave them in my Ikamper min all the time
Nice! They're really comfy.
All I hear is how great hest is, but they do not have a configuration that works with our 23zero armadillo x2 tent .... Couldn't use their stuff even if i wanted
Yeah, they do have some pretty unique sizes. Since I'm solo a lot, I've got the wide foamy which is 30" and then leave about 15-17" of empty space beside it, which is where I put my ladder, awning poles, etc. But it was tricky to pick that because there wasn't anything that covered the whole tent area well.
