We decided from the start that we needed to enjoy the journey. We would feel quite drained and miserable otherwise.

Wonderful to see the plumbers are on site. The joy of eventually having hot water once the boiler is installed will be pure luxury. No more boiling water in pans! It is bad enough when you have to do it for a few day but three years.. you all amaze me how you have managed to date. Once the plumbing has been completed it will open up possibilities to finish off other tasks which have been help up because of this wait . Louisa, do not worry about thinking we would think you were complaining etc. Your renovation is an actual real time project and not some fancy quick fix renovation project. It is such a shame the cost of living crisis has affected your funding. You just have to prioritise which jobs are the most important and move forward based on that. I have a touch of rising damp in my downstairs bathroom and I need to save hard over the next couple of months to pay for it. It is the reality of life. Anyway, great video as always and I hope Mark is feeling better with his back. Big hugs, Sophie X

Hi Louisa &Mark , I am truly so excited for you finally a plumber, don't you love the copper ! What we take for granted when we have it, ! Your home will be so lovely when you have more completed. It seems owning a home there is always something to work on! Long ago when I was younger and not so wise, I said to an older woman "wouldn't that be wonderful to be wealthy get what you want"?! So happy for you that you've found competent plumbers at last your herb garden is coming on beautifully and really enjoyed you taking us along with you on a lovely walk. The comfrey reminded me of my Mother buying it at the herbalists as Knitbone and using it for strains and sprains, I grew it and used it when my children were young and now at 78 I only have a small garden area but know somewhere it grows wild and used it last year on my knee ! 😊❤
I hadn't thought about using it medicinally. I used comfrey to make plant feed ☺️

My husband and I have just finished our renovation in Norfolk and now we’re broke lol😂but what we haven’t got we’ll have to Walt for , just happy to have moved in , you’ll have such a sense of achievement when you’re done

It is such hard work renovating, but it makes you realize how wonderful it is, when you get things like hot and cold running water etc, having not had it for so long. It drains the money, and drain yourselves, but when it is done, you will be so proud to think that you did it yourselves. The plumbers look sooo young, and great to see they are on site. I can not bear the noise of the radio on, which workers seem to always have to have! Good that you can get out of the house, and go for a walk in the countryside to clear your head. It's funny how as a viewer you get invested, but I think if you've ever done renovation it's that feeling of helplessness and your fate is in someone else's hands almost is really hard. Is it a sign of age when plumbers start looking young 😂? X

its good you are using copper pipe i had a kitchen refit and they used all plastic pipe, had a major leak it was behind the boxing so had to rip the plaster board off and it soaked the floor so new flooring aswell love the videos and i wish you all the best nice hot shower on the way ha!!
We are using the best quality material for the renovation - we decided we wanted it to be a restoration project rather than just a quick fix.
Renovations when you are doing them yourself and it’s not just a new coat of paint and you’re working and having family and community responsibilities and so on;takes time that people who don’t have to do the renovations themselves; don’t understand. If you hire a crew it can go quickly. If it’s just you; it takes time. What you save in money rather than paying a crew; you pay in time. It all depends on how much of which you want to spend. My husband and I are doing the same thing.
We are certainly saving a fortune by doing it ourselves ☺️
When you said, "It's the one we've been waiting for" I turned and told my puppies... "The plumbers came!" So exciting!!! My school year will be out in 2 weeks and I have so many plans for my little cottage and garden... you have inspired me so much and helped me renew the love of my own elegantly knackered style!

Can you use PVC in England?. It is so much cheaper here than copper pipe. Glad you will have water.
Yes, you can Denise but copper is a better solution for us. There are so many local stories about rodents eating their way through plastic pipes. We wanted to avoid this kind of issue!
