Plant mom here! ~Try to keep your plants in one spot, limit moving them around ~ never leave them in the plastic pot that they come in, repot them and use a miracle grow type of soil ~ I water mine once a week, every Sunday(all 35 of them 😀)….so maybe pick a day, set a reminder & try to be consistent. You can also add plant food to the water once a month or so
I HIGHLY recommend painting your accent wall in a flat paint finish! With the darker colors, it looks a lot more chic. We have friends who painted their room the same color as ours, but with even the slightest shine, it looks sooo different. Much prefer the flat finish.
You’re not wrong but it’s sooooo hard to keep my flat paint clean and free of scuffs and marks 😭 I have a whole section by my dog food bowl I gave up on.
I really hope she'll pick up a nicer shade of green because those shades looks so old and musky that in a few weeks she will paint it again.. a fresher, more happy and pastel green would be more elegant and relaxing in my opinion (art school in Italy and other stuff)
Yes! My other pet peeve is when you follow step 1 and 2 and then step 3 is like “meanwhile, do XYZ” and it’s something you should have gotten started at the same time as step 1 (like boiling a pot of water), and now you’re behind and scrambling to catch up 🙃🙃
Oregon is beautiful. The Oregon coast is my happy place 😊but if you are wanting Hood River, stay at the Hood River Inn. They have the best oatmeal- weird to say, I know, but it’s served with a poached pear and it’s delicious
Dark paints tend to look much richer when done in a matte finish. I have done tons of painting over the 30 years of home ownership and I typically doe egg shell but this last time I painted I did deep rich colors and matte was the way to go 100%! the light doesnt bounce off so no glares it just looks lux and rich.
This! Do you know how many comments I just read about paint and plants? 😂 I was starting to think I was seeing things! Although, I was already suspicious with all the baking and the "we"'s. Hope he's a good painter! 😉
I was a professional pastry chef for over a decade and yeah… there’s absolutely no reason to not use box mix lol. Also, your pothos is probably just being dramatic. Leave her in one spot for at least a couple weeks and see how she reacts, THEN try to move her. I successfully kept a pothos alive for 2 years in a bathroom without even watering it, so I’m sure she’ll bounce back. 😊
Absolutely YES to adding measurements TO the directions. Why do food bloggers not do this!? And don't get me started on the NOVEL they write before you get to the only part anyone actually cares about..
Love seeing the beautiful scenery of Oregon and I’ll have to add that waterfall to my list. We did the Abiqua Falls hike a couple of weekends ago and it was really pretty!
Thank you for the inspo! I have the same kind of issues with not being able to medically use upper body. Did the 20 min and doing lower body has now become my goal because of your sharing! Great links!
It’s so interesting to hear what triggers your migraines, my triggers are sooo different but it’s also interesting/helpful to hear triggers I’ve never heard of to consider if that could be affecting me too. Love the vlog as usual!
Love the clothes you picked up from Kohls! That pink sweater set it so cute! Pink is such a fabulous color. It looks amazing on you! I do remember when these sweater sets were popular a few years ago, and now they are back. LOL! I feel like in time all the things once popular come back, just maybe restyled or tweaked. The Tulip Farm looks like such a special spot, adding it to my travel bucket list. This was a great vlog! Loved the mix of topics. Hope you had a good time on your getaway!
I love the greens. I had my last kitchen painted a dark green. I had a print of Van Gogh' green wheat fields in a very nice very expensive frame. I think that a lot of art is cheesy when it doesn't have a good frame.
Ha, I remember the shrugs! And it looks beautiful there! The weather has decided to skip to summer here, so I’m melting already 🫠 Also, “I just do what doesn’t trigger me” is a mood.
The big patch just reminds me of an avocado, lol. I really like the green you're using for your bedroom 👍. I did 2 or was it 3? Orders. No, 2 for sure 😊. I love decorating a new place or ree-doing your own house. That's what my husband and I are doing before we sell this and buy a new "forever" dream home. Fun stuff, lol. Have a great rest of your day xoxoxo 🤗
It's so nice to see you happy & exploring your new digs 😊 Excited to try these recipes! Would love to see you and your mom take a cake decorating class together or maybe just a summer baking vlog!
My mom always told me to keep a pitcher of water out for the plants and not to use water from tap immediately- something about the chlorine and minerals in the tap water or use rain water if you have a balcony/porch where you can place something to catch the water.
I do this for my one lil succulent I didn't kill lol but yes I had a mom who had a great deal of green thumb lol she swore by setting water out at least 24 hours if not rain water to water plants with.
We did Benjamin Moore Essex Green in our master bedroom and love it. We have vaulted ceiling but only painted the walls and left the ceiling white. Was the best decision we’ve made. Love it so much.
The pothos needs to be repotted for sure. They also like high humidity, using a soft spray bottle once a day would probably help. I collect pothos lol. My favourite being my beautiful Snow Queen (green and white variegation), but I also love my little N'joy, my Silver Queen.. Eh, I love them all lol.
My pothos lives in the opposite conditions lol. Dry air, watered once a month or when I see the leaves drooping. But it’s just a regular one from Walmart, idk the kind. I have to keep cutting it back and making babies or throwing them away. Unfortunately, my prayer plant absolutely hates my lack of humidity and is probs going to die.
They are so low maintenance. Literally can let them droop before you water. I have a feeling she may overwater her plants. Got to let most of them dry out before watering again. Go by how the soil feels (moist or dry) not a particular schedule.
Mr Kate does peel and stick wallpaper! They have sone nice greens i think. They just peel back off, so they're perfect for renters! They made it like that, for that reason 😊. I like the top green for your living room, and the sage is gorgeous for your bedroom. I love that shade! ❤. I think the white jeans look great on you btw. Definitely keep them, as the length looks perfect on you 💜🏴
I hope you get the Sherwin Williams paint. Get the Superpaint version in Velvet. Its matte but in a buttery way thats almost satin. Its absolutey stunning in green tones and bright rooms cause it changes throughout the day and glows in lamp light
I live near hood river/mt hood im from the LA area but im never going back I think this is the most beautiful place in the world. when I first came out here I did a hike from eagle creek to tunnel falls and I had like a religious experience I was like holy shit this place is sacred. im in awe all the time.
I have always found my pothos do best when I let the soil completely dry before my next water. I also agree with trying not to move them around too much! That one on the moss poll definitely looked like it needed a roomier home. Good luck!
Get a humidity meter for your plants that will help from over or under watering. Pick a stop and keep them in one place for at least 10 days to see if they are happy. Moving them too much can kill them. POTHOS are very happy being root bound and it’s already stressed so I’d definitely wait to repot.
Kohls always has good stuff!! mt hood looks beautiful! That place u stayed in was amazing!!! Def excited to see a makeup try on video with the new products! And I’m going into the hospital tomorrow so I’ll be ready watching old videos to keep my brain busy!
I loved this vlog, mostly because I'm from Oregon. I lived in The Dalles, and worked in Hood River for several years. I miss the Columbia River Gorge. Now I'm in Utah, with bigger mountains, and a different kind of beauty, and more national parks. This isn't a terrible alternative to my old home. 😊
I bought the sweater you have on in the intro when you recommended it from Amazon! Wear it all the time! Thank you! Also I totally agree with you about recipe directions! It should be like a story!
Long time listener here 😊 The tone of the green paint reminds me of an old school chalkboard and now I can't unsee it. It could very well be the video and pulling different in person. I painted my guest room North Woods by Behr (Home Depot). I have honey oak window frames and wanted a geeen to both compliment and tone down the orange in the wood. This color was perfect! I get a similar vibe with your fireplace 😁
Some of my pothos are more finicky than others. They don't like too much sun and they don't like too little or too much water. They hate to be moved. But the ones my husband has in vases of filtered water are super easy and don't mind being moved. Plants have their own personalities.
You have such fabulous decorating and fashion taste! And loved your coffee mug with your mom and dad’s dog peaking from the bottom! Wondered where you got it. Thanks in advance, lol!!
Pothos love bright indirect light they don’t like direct light. They even do well more shaded they just don’t grow as fast. They love to be watered when they’ve dried out so you have to sorta watch them. When the top is dried out you give them a cup or so of water. Zz plants say they grow best in bright light but they grow amazing in shade and they like drought. Mine has gone crazy in a shaded area and is huge. They only like to be watered every 2-3 weeks a cup of water if you water too much they’ll rot and die. I have both plants and I’ve found that works. Hope it helps!!❤️
Also if you move them around a lot you can shock them and they get upset and react so it’s best to leave them in one spot! They like a pot that is no more than 2 inches bigger and you can upsize the plastic it comes in too to help with repotting.
Gosh, Oregon is stunning. Mt Hood is beautiful and Hood River. That cabin was gorgeous, too. Would love to know if you rented it. This all looked fun. The cake and lemon bars look scrumptious, too. Good job. ❤ love your vlogs.
Made the cake for my babys 5 month mark! Thanks for the inspiration. It wasnt too time consuming and tastes pretty great 👌 keeping ths one in my backpocket
noticed Taylor said”his name “ on the cake And a fine gentleman in view (briefly) in front of the cabin ☺️ Oh and the vlogs have been stellar lately - don’t pay attention to the person who said they were sliding lately
Baking for anyone is such a kind and thoughtful gesture. ❤ everyone loves that
13:52 “butt stuff” stopped me dead in my tracks lol
😂😂
lol same
Same!
Glad I'm not the only one 😂😂😂
SAME!! lol
I remember shrugs! Remember how we would wear a shrug with a spaghetti strap tank top, our gauchos, and flip flops? Lol.
Omg gauchos 😂😂
The memories just hit me like a freight train
THIS lol oh boy what a memory 😂
Soft launch?! 👀 hehe happy for you!

I was also going to say, stop moving the plants around. Any plant needs to acclimate to their new surroundings before it perks up and looks good.
Also leaves die sometimes and that’s ok!
Agreeing w these comments as a semi new plant mom. And sometimes I only water by look or feeling. But that comes w time I guess
Girl that pink cardigan top looks good on your skin in your hair. I love it.

My whole apartment is painted in a flat finish, i love it! Its prone to scuffs yeah, but I keep some paint on hand for minor touch-ups now and then.
Maybe use an Eggshell paint. I would avoid satin
@@AmandaLeighS I agree. Eggshell is the way to go.

Oregon is beautiful. The Oregon coast is my happy place 😊but if you are wanting Hood River, stay at the Hood River Inn. They have the best oatmeal- weird to say, I know, but it’s served with a poached pear and it’s delicious
@mirny1509 omg I love rating hotel oatmeal !!! I love oatmeal a weird amount lol
@@Dannydefeato25 I’ve only stayed there twice, but the oatmeal was memorable lol
@@mirny1509is the Inn right in town? We stay a bit outside of town at the Columbia Cliff Villas. Beautiful there. Great view of the river. 😊

I read this comment before getting to that clip and MAN was I in detective mode! Happy when you’re happy Taylor!
I moved from Portland to CT last year and am happy but damnnnn do I miss Hood River. Check out Marchesi and Aniche wineries ;)

Ahhhh! That pink on you is 100% your color, looks so good!!!!!
I love that crochet dress! The top green color looks like it’ll be perfect. I am so enjoying watching you get settled!

Pothos do well if you let the vines grow down, so putting it up high on a ledge or something is the trick
