Hi Taylor, I'm a long time watcher who doesn't comment often. You seemed very defeated and sad about your health and it was honestly heartbreaking to see. I know you've struggled in the past with what to share you're going through, and I completely understand. Just know that as a fellow woman who has chronic health issues- I really empathize for you. I hope you can find solidarity in your viewers, and I hope you know we're always rooting for you. As my mom used to say, "You can fool other people by putting on a brave face, but I can see right through it. Another woman always knows." Sending hugs.
Hi Taylor, I now have a lot of gray hair and what I have to do when using box permanent colors to provide full gray coverage is I first apply the brown alone, no peroxide to my roots as a stain. Then I mix the color and peroxide together from a new box and proceed to color my hair. This is the only way that my hair gets full gray coverage. This an old school coloring tip. Try it out and see your results, mine are always full coverage. I do dark neutral brown. Cheers, Michelle
My hair is almost exactly like Taylor's, where it pulls warm/red especially at the roots (hot roots, ugh!) but it's so easy to accidentally go too dark, too. Your tip sounds like something I need to try when I do my roots again in another week. How long do you keep just the color on before applying the new mixture?
I had my first gray hair as a junior in high school. I’m 42 now & my roots are SO gray & I hate dying my roots. I’ve never heard this tip before. I gotta try it! Thank you!!

Love ya, woman. Hope you get more good days than bad. Chronic pain sucks. And i hope whoever you are spending time with is amazing. No explanations needed. Love your apartment and how it is coming together ❤️. Be well, woman. Here for you!!!❤❤❤
Hair stylist here! I wouldn’t do your root darker if you are looking to do a dark chocolate brown. You’re going to be left with black banding if you decide to go darker. Also, if you go darker than what you have now, it will be black again. Different lines consider 1N and 2N black. I would stick to 4N/4NN and 5NN…this will give you more of the color you want. You need color for gray coverage. 😊 you only need to reapply permanent to your roots and demi permanent the rest of your hair or you will end up with color buildup on your hair. It will start to look opaque, instead of having a natural tone.
I love being early, it feels like when you get early to a friends party and you get to help out and have more intimate conversations! Hi to everybody that also jumped on a new Taylor video 😊😊

Yeah as you prob know, the only way to keep hair from pulling red\orange (which I also battle) is to bleach *all* color out, including grey, so you're starting from level 10 (no color). That may be why your stylist wanted to do it in phases... harsh to take black to a 10 in one go. Since hair has to go through every color to get to 10, the toner will mix with whatever color you have left (usually red/orange/yellow). I feel your pain even when starting from my natural level 5! I leave mine to my stylist now but had tons of fun learning/doing during pandemic! Hope you're doing okay, Taylor. xx from Bend😊💙
Try the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime line. I used this on repeat. The 3.8 velvet brown looks like your shade. I think if you don’t want warm brown, you can use an ash brown shade. my sister uses blue shampoo on her dark brown hair to avoid the warm tones. I loved your dog mug, the one where it’s only half of the dog’s face. I fell down the rabbit hole about those choppers. I just haven’t taken the plunge. But I plan to do that this summer. It would probably be more cost-effective than buying bagged salads.
I’m glad you’re settling in, Taylor! I wanted to thank you because I’m traveling abroad on my own (mostly) for a month, and you really helped inspire me and give me confidence. :)
Definitely recommend a level 5 brown next time if the level 4 is too dark! I kind of bounce around between these two levels depending on what I want, but I find level 5 gives me the darkness I want initially, but then fades into a more medium/medium dark brown that I really like. I primarily have used hair color from Sally's, but when I was going for zero red in my hair the Wella Colorcharm in 5A worked really well for me in removing any red (and it stayed red free for AWHILE which is rare since my hair pulls very red as well). So if your favorite brand from the drugstore has a 5A I'd go for that next time!
Madison Reed at Ulta has really nice ones to, you will be thoroughly impressed when you open up the box I mean it comes with two pairs of gloves that are wonderful everything is individually boxed it’s crazy. They also have the root touchup kits to go with some of the colors. Also the gloss treatments and what not. I wait till they’re on sale because they are $30 but they will go on half off and that’s when I stock up. I used to use John Frieda it’s one of them that I do use occasionally. By the way I am 53 and I have a lot of gray hair, just so you know Madison reed works on the gray also.
Taylor I just tried that viral Tir Tir cushion foundation and it’s beautiful. I used to love the wet & wild cushion foundation and this one is better plus the shade range is fantastic. It doesn’t set down so you have to set it but it wears beautifully. I really think you would love it. It medium to full coverage. It’s stunning. Wishing you a pain free day sweets❤
Hi Taylor. So I'm not sure where you get the laser therapy done but I usually get mine done through a physiotherapist. That way all I need is a referral from my doctor to see them and my insurance covers it as it's not listed as "laser therapy" just physiotherapy. However I'm in Canada and have Blue Cross for insurance so that could also make a difference. Also the treatment I get is a regiment of blue and red therapy. Worked great.
I always feel her pain starts talking about it cause I know I’ve been following her for I don’t know maybe six or seven years. It just seems like she never gets in any peace I get they aren’t any fun so I can’t imagine having them as often as she does, my sister gets them like that. You must have a new bow. I know you said a little something but not a lot. I’m really happy for you. Take care of yourself Taylor my heart goes out to you.❤️💔
I used to cover my grays w box dye. Wash hair once, no conditioner. Apply dye to roots only, wait 5 minutes. Reapply & add to mids. Add a white conditioner to remaining dye, apply to ends. Wait the suggested time. Rinse with cool water, no shampoo.
Nice n Easy makes a beautiful Dark Brown dye. Been using it for years and I get compliments all the time! Trust me… you’ll love it! Oh, the box says leave it on 20-30 mins…… I leave it on at least an hour to cover grays.
Aww, the little Eevee plush in your closet made me so happy! Pokémon girlie over here. I also loved the little side board you picked for your room! I love to see how others organize. It’s so motivating! Hope you are well Taylor! As always thanks for sharing!!
I am sorry you are going through it. Obvi, you know this, but you don't have to tell us anything. My husband is a spoonie and the medical cycle of ups and downs is extremely tiring, and I feel for you.
That food chopper blade is DANGEROUS. Accidently brushed my knuckle on it just rinsing it off. Should have gone for stitches...but it works really good.
I got similar lights for my closet . I love them ! Mine are held by a magnetic strip. I even got one for my dryer . It's above the dryer door when I open it I get light and can see in my dryer.
1) The L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme Triple Care Hair Color has superior gray coverage. I use the Medium Brown shade. 2) VIM Ocean Fresh Gel with Baking Soda (it comes in a see through bottle, a green cap and dark BLUE gel inside) and it's an awesome cleanser plus it has a really nice clean, fresh scent. Given you like fresh laundry scents, you would love this. I also use a Mr. Clean Eraser pad with it. Not sure if you can find this VIM gel in the US but it's here in Canada. It has to be their GEL formula (not any of their cream formulas) and it has to specifically be the Ocean Fresh Gel with Baking Soda. Yes, it sounds very particular but it's worth it. If you can't find it in the US and you know of someone coming to Canada, tell them to bring you some OR if you happen to be in Seattle and feel like going into Vancouver for the day you can pick it up. It's in a lot of stores like Walmart etc....
I'm glad Rachel and her daughter will be there in August for a visit! Cute outfits! I hope the red laser therapy works :) I also love the prints and thanks for showing the picture-hanging hack with the "string" ! :)
Great color for the walls 🙂. I'm the same with makeup storage. They have to be clear bc.. out of sight, out of mind lol. Everything's look great Taylor 👍. This has been a fun and exciting journey 😊. Xoxoxo 🤗😘
I have the same issues with Sally's colours. My hair is ash blond, I colour it copper red. The sally's colours look great as soon as I do it but basically wash out in one shampoo, even though they're permanent. Sometimes blasting your hair with a colour is necessary. Now i can just do my roots and the rest stays red.
Mr Freida 😂 I moved into my apartment two years ago and still have not made it my own lol. Can’t paint but ready to refresh. I love cinnamon/cream/blush colors together. And peach and aqua. Mix of gold and silver tones. Love that perfume stand!! Also, instantly saved the cream sofa! Your place is really coming together, so happy for you. Thank you for your videos!! Your suggestions and reviews are amazing!
I use CLR for water stains and I prefer to use dawn (the blue one) and cleaning vinegar on the tub/shower. I get the dawn spray so it’s easier and a spray bottle for the vinegar. I rub it in and let it sit and I swear there’s no soap buildup or anything once it’s clean. Don’t mix chemicals but the dawn and vinegar together work great.
The John Freda frizz ease hairspray is my absolute favorite. Never understood why it didn't get more hype! Strong hold but brushes completely out out to start all over again next day, and the next. Only thing that I have found works to hold a style in crazy humid Texas.
Loreal Preference all the way. I use level 4 dark brown. It is quite dark, and does look black sometimes - but as it fades, it doesn't look bad ever. It is brown for sure in most light and in the sun. It's the only one that covers my grey's properly and doesn't give me lighter roots than the rest of my hair. Plus the aftercare products make your hair so shiny!
They have glove you can wear for when you use the uv/led light, where only your last knuckle of each finger is exposed. That way your hands don’t get damaged from being exposed to the light so frequently. I got them on Amazon I think for about $6
I use 30 vol with the joico blue ash series (going lighter)and it covers the grey and handles the warmth better than anything I've tried. Love Method eucalyptus mint + fantastik w/bleach - love geeking out on cleaning products!
I have thick, coarse hair with grey. I use Clairol soy4plex with greybusters. Covers the greys and my blonde that comes in. Your color is super close to mine and I get Dark Neutral brown. Normally I get 20V developer but recently started 10V just to deposit color now. Dunno if this helps but so far it's the only color I've found that doesn't fade, covers the grey and isn't all weird with my thick coarse hair.
Why don’t you use a toner conditioner, I also have dark hair and have to use a one because the red tones are real, I use either Madison reed mask in espresso or gem lites colorditionor with bond fix, works like a gem! Good luck girlie
Sorry you have been going through it, Taylor. I wish more than anything I could relieve some of your pain, but I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you so much peace and love!
My hair is similar to yours, it always pulls red when coloring, especially at the roots. I’ve tried multiple colors of the John Frieda. The dark cool expresso brown is a true dark ash brown and the only one I don’t have any red with, even at the roots. You also want to use the entire bottle, so your hair is saturated. It’s going to seem like too much, but it really helps with the coverage.
Sally, L’Oréal excellence resistant Greys is good. Use more neutral brown tones on roots for coverage. Put on roots first…wait….only put on ends last 15 minutes. If you want violet or red tones…mix in for lengths and ends. Often times I mix in protein filler and conditioner for ends.
It will not affect your perfume to leave them in the bathroom unless it's above 85 degrees for an extended period of time. They come to the store by truck, which is hot as heck! I don't know why people gotta nitpick about every little thing... just enjoy the video😅❤
I believe the concern for storing your perfume in the bathroom is because of the humidity. The humidity can oxidize your perfume especially citruses and florals. The best place is somewhere dark and dry. (Keep them out of direct sun)
@WittyOneMN It can't oxidize without oxygen. As long as it's closed and your bathroom isn't 100% humidity it won't hurt it. It's humid all day every day in Florida and they all have perfume that they don't store in a closet.
Oxidization can happen by exposure to oxygen but also light exposure and temperature fluctuations. If keeping it in your bathroom works for you with no effect, keep on keeping on. :)
Gel fading can be caused by sun exposure but also unstable pigment in the gel. Good ones won’t do that! I’d say that color might just need to be tossed 🥲
Long time viewer here and I just wanted to share a tip just in case you didn't already know 🤓 If you use permanent color on your ends over and over it will typically get darker and darker. Using a demi permanent, it will fade on your ends over time but will keep them from getting too dark. 🩷
I have been using the John Frieda box dye for years! I love its foam consistency, which makes it easy for self-application. I always leave them for longer, 1 - 1.5 hours, and they do a good job covering my grays.
I’ve decided to let my hair go gray naturally. Just thinking about having to keep up with dying it every few weeks gives me anxiety. Skin care and makeup are a totally different story though. The more steps the better! 😂
I’m with you, girl. I’m 5 months in on what looks to be a 2 year journey! I can’t wait till it is all grown in. I feel so unkempt in this midway stage.
Hang in there. The final result will be worth it! During covid lockdown, I had no choice but let the roots grow out. Before that, I used to go every 3 weeks to the salon for root touch-ups (on dark brown hair). You can imagine what a sh!t show my hair was during 2-4 months of no salon visits!!😵💫 Once the salons opened, my hair stylist did blonde highlights close to my root color. It was the best decision ever. I wish I would have done it sooner! I've since grown out the blonde highlights. Now I have hair past my shoulders, my natural white-gray hair looks like intentional highlights, but it's just my natural hair and it looks amazing. I still use purple shampoo every other wash to keep the color from looking dull. My hair is layered, and I curl it most days. I get so many compliments everywhere I go because I wear makeup to balance out the pale hair, sometimes a bright lip color to add warmth to my face. One suggestion I can make is, don't wear your hair too short, unless it's a real short, sassy, edgy style. Short hair is very aging. Either really short or keep it longer with a style. Makeup is essential, especially a bright lip color. It helps balance the whole look. Good luck, and I'm sure you all will look fabulous!!👌
Honestly Nutrisse hair color works the best and I feel the best less damage. I color every 2-3 weeks just roots. And only mix half the portion or an ounce at a time to get only the growth all over. Other dyes are so drying. Much love 💕
What I’d give just to see u 2 smile together.. I can tell you’ve been different since you met him and girl you’d think you was mine I’ve been nonstop praying this is your king and you’re the queen of him n the tube.. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have the same black medicine (monthly) holder. I no longer use it and will totally be pulling it out to store my lip liners eye liners etc. great idea!
24:26 omg I used this BB cream YEARS ago and it disappeared! I'm so excited it's back!! I found that it even helped my skin over time! Love these long vlogs ❤
If you’re still trying out different dyes going forward, I’d really recommend loreal preference in 5C Cartagena if you can find it. The most cool toned brown shade I’ve ever found and true to colour vs many box brown dyes which are often much darker than they should be.
I had a Beetle red jelly color for about two weeks. It got significantly darker after the first week, and I work outside. But I have a ton of to their jelly ones and that’s the only one that’s done it. I swear by Beetles, it’s the best I’ve ever used as a cosmetologist.
I always use the AgeBeautiful from Sally’s with 20 vol for my roots (40% gray) in 4NN & 3NN and it covers perfectly and normally lasts for about 6-8 weeks. 😊
I actually bought the $5.00 box hair color ( cheap one) and it covers all my grey hair. Watch out for the chopper, I cut my fingers on several times, the blazes are super sharp.
Could be the gloves mixing with the gel chemical... there was a time wear sun screen would wear off my acrylics and make them sticky. Maybe something similar
I do my own Matrix permanent color extra coverage and I suggest from my decades of trial and error……find out what peroxide to use because the lower strength to have your color deposit the better and don’t pull it through your roots to ends because it’ll make your hair look chalky and non dimensional and flat looking. I know you like to pull the dye through but just a little info as your gray comes in that you can use your dye covered grays as highlights & it worked great for me but I don’t do black/brown.
Definitely recommend reusing John Frieda and apply on the roots first/ using all the product completely saturating your hair! I’ve been using it for a few years with lots of greys and it usually covers all of mine! I also let it sit for 30mins or longer! Hopefully it works for you next time 😅
I really like the Kenra Demi Permanent in 6NUA (natural ultra ash) because it's Demi, but covers my grays if it sits for 30 minutes. It's actually really dark for a level 6 (I think it's more of a level 5). Guy Tang's Mydentity line has blue based and green based permanent and Demi Permanent colors as well. Both of these lines last about a month for me before they start to fade.

Would keeping a perfume in the hot car change the scent as well?
I’d assume so!
Yes. Fragrance should be stored in a cool dry place. Heat breaks it down and changes the scent/composition.
Depends on if it's in a sealed bottle. I've had a roller ball in my car for 5 years, no change at all!

It doesn’t set down so you have to set it but it wears beautifully. I really think you would love it. It medium to full coverage. It’s stunning. Wishing you a pain free day sweets❤
I just ordered that yesterday. Can’t wait to try it!
Take care of yourself Taylor my heart goes out to you.❤️💔
Love my food chopper, warning ‼️ all the blades and choppers are very sharp. Be careful when using and cleaning. Hang in there. 🤗
Yess love the eevee plushie! 🥰
I love the John Frieda Frizz Eaze hair spray! It's been a go to for me for over 5 years 😊 Also you hair looks great even just a bit darker!
I did the same thing with a long, fine cheese grader. Major learning curve for me!
awwwww he's helping you paint??? so sweet
Cleaners … the scrub free line at dollar tree is awesome … bathroom cleaner is great the window foam is the best
Xoxoxo 🤗😘
I hear from the perfume youtubers that the best spot to store perfumes is in your closet or in a spot where they dont get direct light.
Clean Shower for a shower/tub cleaner! It smells SO good.
I like the pink stuff that squirts out it’s a creamy substance! That stuff is great!
This comment confused me until I got to the part of the video about shower cleaners. 😂😂😂
I would get the micro cover that has the magnetic top. So it actually sticks to the inside top of micro when not in use.
Have you tried the Korean or Japanese hair dyes? Maybe they will work better for you since it is designed for brunettes/asian dark hair
I love the Schwarzkopf keratin permanent color! Full grey coverage! I use espresso but that one’s pretty dark brown.
The John Freda frizz ease hairspray is my absolute favorite. Never understood why it didn't get more hype! Strong hold but brushes completely out out to start all over again next day, and the next. Only thing that I have found works to hold a style in crazy humid Texas.
Thank you, I’m in TX and I’m going to try this hairspray.
I got them on Amazon I think for about $6
For the curtains that are a bit too long, you can get iron on hem stuff, no sewing needed!
The frames with two small loops on either side are meant to be used with picture hanging wire and a single nail 💡
I know I didn’t have those though so that’s why I used floss haha
The John Frieda dark natural brown is my go-to!! The medium can pull red in the sun
I used to use the foam dye all of the time- every single time my roots came out a different color than the rest of the length of my hair.
The age beautiful line is very good at Sally’s, especially if you have thick coarse hair. It’s easy to mix and match as well. It’s a 1 to 1 ratio.
I have been using the John Frieda box dye for years! I love its foam consistency, which makes it easy for self-application. I always leave them for longer, 1 - 1.5 hours, and they do a good job covering my grays.
Girl that's a longgg time for developer to sit on your hair!!
@@taylorwynn Haha yes, it is. But then I just watched some YT videos or clean or do something productive, so it doesn't feel like long!
Love the green you picked for the wall! Can’t wait to see how it turns out. 😊
That hair color is what I use and I absolutely love it! I’ve never had any issues with it covering my grays and I’m completely converted to the foam.
Yes the Lanza hair oil is amazing on wet or dry hair! Love it. The leave in conditioner by that brand is good too
I’ve decided to let my hair go gray naturally.
You can imagine what a sh!t show my hair was during 2-4 months of no salon visits!!😵💫
Once the salons opened, my hair stylist did blonde highlights close to my root color.
Sending so much love on your health journey from a fellow chronically ill girl ♥️
Have a great time with who is coming to visit you! Great vlog and i am with you on trying different techniques to help chronic pain. ❤
Honestly Nutrisse hair color works the best and I feel the best less damage. I color every 2-3 weeks just roots. And only mix half the portion or an ounce at a time to get only the growth all over. Other dyes are so drying. Much love 💕
I didn’t know you can paint walls in a rented apartment! That’s so cool-it’ll look amazing in the dark green color you picked out! 😊
What I’d give just to see u 2 smile together.. I can tell you’ve been different since you met him and girl you’d think you was mine I’ve been nonstop praying this is your king and you’re the queen of him n the tube.. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Who’s the boyfriend 😊
I have the same black medicine (monthly) holder. I no longer use it and will totally be pulling it out to store my lip liners eye liners etc.
great idea!
24:26 omg I used this BB cream YEARS ago and it disappeared! I'm so excited it's back!! I found that it even helped my skin over time!
Love these long vlogs ❤
Hi Taylor happy Wednesday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Love your honesty. Thank you for bringing us into your world! Also love the purple chrome nails 💅🏼🤗💖
@19:00 i’m so excited you picked a darker green paint! can’t wait to see it 🎉🌲
Your asthetic is chefs kiss I love how you are getting everything set up!!
Loreal have a good colour lifter if you want to remove the black tone fro your hair
❤️ ty for the hack with the hobby lobby art. I am having the exact same issue with some LG wall art from them as well
I actually bought the $5.00 box hair color ( cheap one) and it covers all my grey hair.
I know you like to pull the dye through but just a little info as your gray comes in that you can use your dye covered grays as highlights & it worked great for me but I don’t do black/brown.
pick yourself up some picture frame wire, that’s what’s meant to be used with the frames with the hooks on the side lol.
I know lol but floss works perfectly and already had it
Definitely recommend reusing John Frieda and apply on the roots first/ using all the product completely saturating your hair! I’ve been using it for a few years with lots of greys and it usually covers all of mine! I also let it sit for 30mins or longer! Hopefully it works for you next time 😅
I can’t wait to see the updates plus new paint. That color looks amazing!!
I just bought the Pink Stuff to clean my glass shower box, but I bought the paste not the one you got. Hope that works great to clean the glass.
That's how you're supposed to hang those paintings. Were you actually putting in two screws and trying to line it up before?!
Taylor are you happy with the quality and comfort of the couch? Might buy one for my place. Thanks!! Is it linked somewhere?
Did you ever find out about her couch? I wanted to know that too. 😊
@ no I didn’t :(
