Something that wasnt mentioned is that when you sell or destroy pieces of equipment, you keep them as a cosmetic item. So don't be afraid to sell your old coat in favor of a more powerful one since you can make it look like your old coat(s)

The best way to enjoy the game is to avoid all third party gameplay and spoilers to just get out there and explore the world yourself. Puzzles are so much more rewarding when you complete them by yourself no matter how long it takes.
