    Thank you so much James for this video. I had the similar situation today when changing the differential and crank case oil (thanks for that video) as well. I saw some seepage on the passenger side pipe also and got all worried that I need to change the turbo.

    Hi James I’ve been watching your videos for some time now and I’m just in awe at how well explained and thorough you are. I have a 2014 Maserati Ghibli S Q4 and my check engine light is on and throwing off a code referencing my Turbo, I do also realize that my engine oil gets low frequently and I’m not sure if both are related. Have you ever had a similar experience?

      Check the area around the rubber intake coupling between the throttle body and intake Y tube. Is there a lot of oil in that area? Then you most likely have a hole in the rubber coupling.

    James, your video editing skill is getting better and better every time. I love it. Maybe your oil separator valve is not working 100%. I had to change oil separator valve when I had Porsche Boxster. (well known problem)

    Keep it simple and make it cover more than the Ghibli for future use. "Raay's Garage" is appealing to the eye but you could add a clever adjective between your name and garage. Great vids btw!

    James, can you tell me the reason that you wouldn’t be able to replace turbos in your garage?
    I am about to go on that journey, and according to shop service manual, I don’t see anything that would prevent me from doing it in my garage.
    Maybe I am missing something?

      Sorry for the late reply. I probably could do turbos in my garage. Just not sure I wanted to at the time. I've learned a lot more since then.

    Recently I went to the park and on my way home I got a misfire then check ingine light. I replaced all the plugs, and the code was P0300. I see you with a scan tool. Where can I get one to buy

      I think you are talking two different things. I have already it only clear the maintenance but I had a check ingine light from a p0300 and change plug now I want to clear that code.
      When you replace the transmission fluid had a scanner that you used with an app . Can it?

      @@oneilatkinson8369 the OBDStar Pro X200 will clear codes also. It is not just an oil reminder light reset tool. I do also have the BAFX bluetooth diagnostic OBD2 Code reader. Also on Amazon. I use the Torque App with it. It is only for Android phones. No iPhone support.

    Hey so I have the same car i’m getting underboost code, that passenger side turbo the on with the blow by tube. I have a lot of oil all the way up into the air box, like a small puddle and the air filter itself is saturated. In addition a ton of smoke from exhaust. Does that sound like a bad turbo to you?

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You may need to replace the Oil Disareator , Part#1 - www.scuderiacarparts.com/part-finder/maserati/ghibli/oe/176/3827/67446

      @will. I have the same issue as you, a lot of smoke comes out of the exhaust and it looks like the smoke is coming from oil resting inside the exhaust. My question is did replacing the oil disareator fix the problem? This will be my only bet before taking it to the dealership

    Hello, Im about to purchase a Maserati Ghibli SQ4 2015 that has 65k miles from an auction. Have you had any major problems with the car. Fortunately I have good income that I owned Audi A4 A6 A7, BMW 5 Series and 6 Series. Never a maserati, I love the look of the car, and the name of it... Im just hesitant to buy because I hope that the engine wont fail on me and my money goes down the drain...

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just battery, because it ws the original that came with the car when new. Other than that nothing. I do as you can see in my videos maintain it well. I would have a pre purchase inspection done. If that good, and it has that much mileage, that tells us it has been reliable. Kinda hard to put that much mileage on a car when its in the shop all the time. Good luck.

      @@JamesDIYGarage Thats definitely true, hard to put that much mileage if it kept breaking down... How much did a battery cost for the car? Im asking because when I had a BMW the battery itself was about 200-300 bucks.. Thanks for the videos, their extremely helpful and I really appreciate the effort of making them. You will save me big money later on when I get one..
