Awesome video man! Looking forward to watching more of your journey. We have the Anker Solix C800 and we love it. Anker makes a great line of portable power stations. High quality, reliable, good customer service, etc. Worth checking out their line and see what might work best for you. The C800 is great for our family and our camping trips, If I get the opportunity to go bigger I definitely will now that I know how great they are and what they can do. Keep up the great work man. I respect the hustle 🤙
Just buy some big 250w or 500w panels instead of those folding ones. They work with portable battery storage like the bluetti and can be mounted on the roof of the house/cabin down the line.
i have Jackery ... i have a 240, 300, 700, 700, and a 1000v.2. [LOL, i like to charge one or three... as a use one or two.] HOWEVER COMMA... and a huge investment... They recently came out w/ a 5000. [Aaaannnddd i do believe anyone can use fixed roof mounted solar panels with any of the solar power stations w/ adapters!]... i have like a 60W, 4 100W. and one 200W portable Jackery solar panels. LOL, had i THOUGHT AHEAD... instead of buying the 1000-version2 ...and the 200W solar panel... i would have put it off, until i could "afford" the 5000. And i only went w/ Jackery because i've been following Chrome, Vancity Vanlife, from like his first promo over 6 years ago...when Jackery only made "jackets" for charging cell phones. Aaannnnddd i waited years to purchase any solar portable power station. MAYBE...just maybe, If you research Jackery[or any company]...and inform them that you are only on episode 'whatever' at the time you write to them... IF ya want to get "paid" ...or reimbursed/discount, etc.... LOL, ANY company, ya could do that with, quite frankly. [maybe explain to them, how your subscriber count ballooned overnight, etc. Also... Chrome has an online Van store now [US website is up/ or will be up super soon?!? Canadian website's up, he had to switch to making two different websites, sooo no USA ordering, until the USA website is up]]... Chrome sells Lithium Ion batteries [and other van toys],,,,for the company that he has in his van...and just make your own solar power system, w/ inverters, etc... LOL, he has been paid to make ADs for Jackery....yet, he actually has a different system, in his van... and will be in his new van also. LOL... personally..., imo.....the best BRAND...might be the one that does not cost a penny!! ;-) There's a battery company, that's been a "name" for many many many years. I remember buying their 9V in the 70s... and i think it's a 3 letter name... but LOL, the 3 letters i am think of, is 100% incorrect. JBL, is not the company. They all are basically the same 'thing,' and that 3 letter company does not spend a lot of $$ for ads, soooo they are way cheaper. Ecoflow, and your brand...are also other brands that pay offgrid/vanlifers to promote.
@@Two_Scars WHICH BRAND and size ... allows you to use 250W or 500W rigid solar panels? For me..200W MAX for the portable power stations, i use. The bigger 2000 or 3000 size, that i do not have... is capable of 2x200W.
Well done, great cast! Looking forward to your next episode. As an old/retired fire marshal I appreciate your focus on safety. That said, in your tour of the base camp, I didn't see a fire extinguisher or two or three...one for your tent and another around your grill and maybe a spare...buckets of sand is also an option. I am guessing your nearest fire department is a volunteer department and several miles and minutes away so, like other things, you need to be ready/have a plan. Eventually you may want to "build-in" fire breaks to protect your property. Making sure the local fire department knows how to get to your property and what they can expect in terms of access to water and maybe get their inputs/suggestions on fire protection would also be ideal. Best wishes!
Looking forward to seeing how your adventure develops.....I would say that when clearing/managing new scrub land mechanical equipment like a tractor will be your best friend.
Stumbled across your video, very nice, anytime you put your heart into something it repays you with what you need and a sense of accomplishment, cheers
I only watch TH-cam. I love watching off grid living. My husband and I dreamed of doing what you are doing. Unfortunately I will go on alone as he passed from cancer in 2023 but I will be watching. .God Bless you on your journey.
From one introvert to another, this might be the only time I comment, but just wanted to say I look forward to watching you follow your dream, YOUR way! Thanks for letting us all tag along 😊
Your journey reminds me of a book I have read ten years ago. It was called "woodswoman" by Anne LaBastille. It was the story of a woman going offgrid in a cabin in the canadian wilderness. It was interesting how many details she had to think about, and how she dealt with frozen lakes (she could only get supplies with a boat that got stuck in ice), critters and bears. I wish you good luck on the journey, thanks for sharing!
Amazing stuff Paul, been following the Kali for a long time and always looked forward to those videos, same with your new adventure and I can’t wait to see how you approach outdoor off grid living!
Most people watching TH-cam love off grid life especially the journey of building a cabin.. Every week is getting so exciting. Can't wait to see you start building..
As a TH-cam viewer, there’s nothing I appreciate more than consistency. You’ve got our attention, now be consistent about the journey and we’ll follow along. You’re the Saturday morning cartoon for adults that we look forward to every weekend.
This is the life we long for but not all of us can even begin to achieve due to health, age or other circumstances. We love to watch the doers become I think we are all craving a simpler more fulfilling lifestyle. The feeling of accomplishment for building our own homes and growing our own food is priceless. ❤
Hey Paul, started watching last week EP.1 and we are here to stay.. dont worry about what others say about the music or anything else, This is your dream Not theirs!! most ppl love all kinds of music! i think ur on your way to a great start!! c ya next week!!👏😁
Found your great channel a couple days ago. Enjoy your content. We have been living/ homesteading offgrid now full time for the last 6mo in Northern AZ. Love it🎉!!
New subscriber from Western North Carolina, watching your journey and enjoying the ride. Just think, sir: years from now, when you're sitting on the porch of your cabin, watching the sunrise, it'll hit you like a thunderclap - "I built this."👍
This is how we are supposed to live, simple and in nature, I'm working at living full time on my sailboat, its a lonely life but very rewarding to the sole.
Your very lucky to have the freedom to live the way you want as we have too many restrictions here in the UK will be watching your journey with green eyes good luck.
From The Netherlands, new on your channel, love it! Here it's not possible what you're doing, so far community tiny houses is aloud on specific properties. And that's not what i want. A little off grid homestead, that's the dream. But dreams are dreams and i enjoy your video's.
Amen Brotha.... Always JUST DO YOU .... Haters are everywhere... but fans will always follow REAL... Keep up the good work Paul and best of luck in YOUR adventure!
You continue to explore life in a pure and authentic way, i'm wishing you the best with that. I will definitely follow your journey, as i have done for a very long time. Keep inspiring and keep living!
Congratulations with your new off grid property. It looks like you have a nice private piece of land. Coming from a former martial artist to another, enjoy the journey and ignore any negative comments. Like you said, you can't please everyone. Looking forward to the build and how you progress.
What you are doing now has been my lifelong dream. I’m 60 years old and feel like I’m running out of time, but it’s awesome to live vicariously through someone who has the means and the time to do what you were doing….
I’m 56 an been thinking about living off grid Just need to get Out of society talking with my son and he said he would like to do it also, I live in Delaware. He lives in North Carolina. We’re going to meet up next month sometime to make our move.
I enjoy watching TH-cam and seeing your wonderful adventures. Looking forward to future adventures and your plans keep up the good work. I’m 81 years old, female, and enjoy living my life through your adventures.
I also did martial arts for many years....and I love cabin videos. I watch Cabin River Outdoors, Wild Homestead, and a few others. Looking forward to seeing more. In your last video you mentioned water. Consider banging in a sandpoint well. Very cheap (a few hundred bucks) and in most cases you can drink the water straight from the ground. Bushradical has a couple of videos on sandpoint wells. You should check them out. Best wishes to you man. Off to a great start! 😁👍
Your videos are excellent, don't change a thing! I am also an introvert so it is nice to hear of someone else feeling the same introverted feelings :) I dream of living in a tree house in the woods.
Your intro/outro music is great. Very chilled and quite unique for this type of content. I enjoy it, you know its good when it get stuck in your head post-viewing! 😂
So looking forward to your journey through the off grid life. So very envious of you. I can't do it myself but at least I can watch others having a great time doing it and that makes all the difference! ❤
Thanks you, I,m thinking of moving off grid land , you showed me a great picture of clean land off, I love looking at other videos off grid living sheds or cargo trailers too
Looks like you picked a nice place for your house brother, I think you say shed to house if I'm not mistaken, anyway looking forward to seeing the journey
Getting after it!! Buddy of mine had a Jackery 1000 v1 with solar panels. We has some problems with clouds and their own solar panels. Could not get 100% incoming power ever, and clouds or a shadow really brought down the charge coming in. They are now on v2.... Maybe they fixed it. Cheers kid!
Not trying to be negative in any way, but don’t listen to the people that break your stones. Those people are sitting behind a computer desk in a gaming chair… you are literally out in the acreage making stuff happen. Good for you. I just found your channel last week. I wish you the best of luck.
G'day Mate, Some surprising similarities here lol. I am a now retired Kung Fu instructor who move off grid in the mid 90's and owner built my own home on a couple of hundred acres here in Australia. I also built my own training area out there full of the traditional toys. I quickly had to expand it when my students came out. In the end i wound up living there, teaching classes in the surrounding towns and running training camps onsite. Other schools would travel across the state or the border to come train at the facility. Was some of the best times of my life. Long past it now but love to see somebody else living the dream. Best of luck brother
Great videos. I'm looking forward to seeing your adventure. My only suggestion is to lose the music. I usually turn the volume down during those parts. Just my two cents. Good luck with your build. You have a new subscriber!
When I was starting the prepping lifestyle 3-4 years ago, I did a lot of research. I didn’t want to spend a lot, so was hoping I could buy a cheaper model. However after a lot of thought I went with Jackery. I bought the 2000, because I wanted something that would run my freezer full of meat that cost way more than the freezer! I also knew that around 2025 or 2026 I would be moving to a piece of land I own and putting a cabin on it, so I wanted something that would run the entire cabin. I won’t have an HVAC system or a dishwasher. Those will take a lot of wattage. I wanted this 2000 because it has an RV plug, which I thought would be nice for plugging straight into the house. I bought it as a kit and it came with two 200W solar panels. Only time I have used it is when I’ve gone to the farm and I am fixing up a little shed as a weekend getaway. I can tell you that it will not run a space heater on high for very long! But it does pretty much everything else I want it to do. As a side note, I lost my charging cord, so since it was at 70% and we were slated to get quite a bit of ice early this month, I decided to fully charge it with the solar panels. In Kansas in the middle of winter, there’s not very many hours of sun. It took me three days to get it charged to 95%. I had the panels laid out on the snow. So I now know that if I want to be serious about using solar I need two more panels. What’s really nice is I contacted Jackery about purchasing another cord, and they just sent me one for free. Another great thing was they advertised on their website that you could get a tax break for buying one of their products. I claimed that on a tax return, and my $3200 investment gave me about $1000 tax back. So I figured that was a pretty great deal!
Sorry if you already explained this, but how do you dispose of the human waste? From Ep. 1 you created your own makeshift apparatus, but what do you do with the waste once its collected?
You don't need to justify your decisions, you cannot please everybody, it's your channel so just do what you want, if people are not happy there's thousand of other channel that will match what they like. Yes your music is not my kind of music (I like metal) but that doesn't make me switch the channel because I like the kind of experience your a living, I'm here more for the visual than the audio
May I ask why you split your wood so tiny? Other than a few pieces to start a fire fast I would leave the whole roubds to burn longer in the stove. Lessen the number of times you need to fill it. Unless you only need a small fire, bcuz you are in a warm zone.

Do you know Jesus as your personal savior? If not, please ask Him into your heart and to forgive you of all your sins. It's real important to have Jesus living in you. Eternity is forever

I've been using Jackery solar stuff, and I'm happy with it, but I have heard good things about Blutti.
I was looking at some Jackery stuff. I may consider giving them a try too!

I hear a lot of mixed reviews on Jackery
Location of your cabin is very important. Choose wisely. I prefer to face east. But its personal preference.
Absolutely! 👍🏼
Great work with clearing the land!
Appreciate it! It's a slow but satisfying process.
I watch your videos Paul and love them i cant wait to watch the next step up xx
Thanks! 🙏🏼
You will need a Manuel hand drill
Hopefully the area for the cabin is high ground on your property. Will help keep problems away
Yes, I made sure to pick a high spot! Thanks for the tip! 🙏🏼🌲

Thanks for the insight! Much appreciated 🙏🏼🌲
When is your shed coming?
Hopefully soon! Waiting on the county to finish my address stuff and a couple other things.

Thanks! Yes, Southeast 🌲👍🏼
Sorry if you already explained this, but how do you dispose of the human waste? From Ep. 1 you created your own makeshift apparatus, but what do you do with the waste once its collected?
Watch Ep. 1 again. I explained it there. 👍🏼
No bolo brush clearing?! 😮 lol
😂😂 might be coming up! ⚔️
I,ve two and a half of land in Virginia, but I think of moving or maybe putting up a shed for family visit,
How do you connect the solar panels to the battery?
You use voltaic wire.
So what do you for power to charge electronics?
Right now Bluetti AC180
Can you try the EcoFlow products? They are supposed to be very good.
That’s another brand I’ve been looking at 👀

You don't need to justify your decisions, you cannot please everybody, it's your channel so just do what you want, if people are not happy there's thousand of other channel that will match what they like. Yes your music is not my kind of music (I like metal) but that doesn't make me switch the channel because I like the kind of experience your a living, I'm here more for the visual than the audio
👍
you need a brush hog for clearing .. make it much easier on you . :)
But then I don’t get the great workout! 😁
May I ask why you split your wood so tiny? Other than a few pieces to start a fire fast I would leave the whole roubds to burn longer in the stove. Lessen the number of times you need to fill it. Unless you only need a small fire, bcuz you are in a warm zone.
So it fits in my small wood stove.

Paul, the music for this video only arouses me a little bit. Can you maybe make a vid with some sexier music? ;)
😂😂😂 I can try.
Quoting another TH-camr it's a game plan not a set plan paul
Very true!
Cut all of your long hair off. Shave your head clean. Then shave all the hair from your face clean. Good luck with building.
Do you know Jesus as your personal savior?
If not, please ask Him into your heart and to forgive you of all your sins. It's real important to have Jesus living in you. Eternity is forever
Not trying to be negative in any way, but don’t listen to the people that break your stones. Those people are sitting behind a computer desk in a gaming chair… you are literally out in the acreage making stuff happen. Good for you. I just found your channel last week. I wish you the best of luck.
