With the POKéFANs, I think the single POKéMON in the battle isn't because they have just one POKéMON on them, but instead they are only willing to use one in battle (as protection if a wild POKéMON attacks, for example), but might have a full set of 6 to look after and fuss over like we would to our own pets.

I was playing through heartgold the other day and won with a caterpie after losing with a scyther and metapod.
i came in 2nd when i did this.....on one hand, i wanted a sun stone. on the otherhand, it was a shiny pinsir.

Raichu, baby, for me. Favorite Pokemon. Really sucks that Gold made getting one ridiculous, and by the time you do get one, it's so late in the game that it's not worth training up.

Scyther is probably one of my favorite pokemon, even if he isn't necessarily the best in a party. Pikachu vs. raichu is a toss up for me, but maybe slightly in favor pikachu.
Sykhoh. A good choice for trainer's in your phone are the ones that give out the different evaluation stones for free. also they will recall you for battles.

Sunkern's actually the second weakest pokemon now. The weakest is now solo form Wishiwashi.
I wonder if he will talk to the NPC who's next to the hole in the fence when there is no contest and his thoughts on what he says.
If you can find a Sunkern. Why you would ever want to find one is beyond me.
Pikachu is my favorite Pokemon, so def more of a pikachu guy

I know this is not well known, but in Gen II the only status that gives you a better chance of catching a Pokémon are Sleep and Frozen. Paralysis does not affect the Catch Rate at all.

In the bug catching contest the blue hair guy nick is allways going to scyther or pinsir anytime he is there, there is a chance he will not be in the area u can catch scyther that is an easy way to win the contest

Sucks that you can't catch a wild Mareep in Crystal Version. I love Ampharos so much cause it's cute and strong! I hope Gold, Silver and Crystal Version will be in the 3DS someday.
Totally late, but I love raichu a lot more than pikachu. After the Lt. Surge episode, I always thought raichu was one of the coolest pokemon

statis conditions don't increase the catch rate in this game unless im mistaken and they fixed that in crystal

If we're talking generation 2, I like Pichu better than Pikachu or Raichu. But if we include newer games, Alolan Raichu is amazing.
It's a tough call but I'm gonna say the bug catching contest in the anime was slightly better than this episode, mainly because I love Chikorita and the episode featured a Chikorita. Otherwise. This would be the better episode of the bug catching contest.
I can never beat Cooltrainer Nick. He always catches a better Scyther. I actually caught a 382 point Scyther and he beat me by one point. I'm like, REALLY?!?!?
