Exactly, who sets the prices on this stuff? I would be so upset to pay that much and then pull absolutely nothing. He didn't pull anything in any of those tins. Once all these big celebrities and influencers start paying all those stupid prices for stuff it ruins it for the rest of us who can't afford those prices....

@@JamesCordell-h6rwell these tins were released nearly 10 years ago, meaning the packs inside are out of print thereby making them rare. The prices of these things go up simply because 1) people open more and more of them over time, making sealed tins and old packs more scarce and valuable. 2) people continue to pay these high prices, so people will continue to pay that much. This stuff is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. And in this instance it’s 100-200$ per tin
@user-zw9tl5kt1f it's more supply an demand thing for these prices I could see that for newer sets like evolving skies & 151 where streamers made it more expensive but this era was not very popular they had alot of the base audience growing up that whole diamond&pearl-xy era was really hard to find sealed alot went on sale wasn't really kept in good conditions or seen as valuable or having collection potential that's why etbs from the beginning of etb introduction are so expensive they didn't know if people would like them they were extremely limited

I still remember my dad buying me these at target for like 20$ and the joy of opening the packs. now im 16 and really wish I could find my old cards.
I regret opening these when I was younger
I ripped so many of these but if I didn’t they wouldn’t be special to me at all, and I don’t think it’s worth saving these tins for 10 years just to make 100 bucks, we did as intended

XY is by far undisputed the 2cd best generation of cards/games/anime outside of the first. All 3 were top tier.
All these cards were mad popular back when I was in grade 2, now I'm in the 11th grade 💀

Love seeing xy stuff. Might be some of the coolest. Wish I was more into pokemon back then. Stopped collecting cards for many years after I got outta high school. Got back into it slowly over the years. 151 set brought me back full force 😂

It's crazy how all those tins were rotting away on sale on walmart shelfs until like 2020... Those were the days, being able to walk into walmart and pick up an old tin/box for $13

since it was my first time getting pokemon cards, i once got the yveltal tin for christmas. opened it up immediately, and i still have that tin till this day, helping me hold my bulk.
I still have the other two tins that came with it, too. would that set of tins (empty) still be worth much?
