Fun Fact: None of the female gym leaders in Gen 2 will give you a badge when you beat them unless you do something for them.

Caster Games You have to go through the Lighthouse mini-dungeon, then go to Cianwood City to get the SecretPotion Key Item, then return to the Lighthouse and use said SecretPotion in order to even battle Jasmine.
Some Pony "will give you a badge WHEN YOU BEAT THEM"
So the OP was slightly wrong in their choice of words; you do still have to do something out of your way to get her badge. But yes, you're right. You do gain Jasmine's badge immediately after beating her.

Watching him completely wreck Whitney was actually quite satisfying after all the trouble she gave me on HeartGold.
I'm aware I'm 3 years late, but while the elemental punches being special in this gen isn't that useful for your current team, they are useful for other Pokemon. Most notably the Abra line. In one of my previous runs I used a Ledian on my team, and having access to both Ice Punch and Thunder Punch really gave it that bit of oomph it needed to pull its weight. Ledian isn't very good but it has a higher special attack than its regular attack, and just about any Pokemon is usable in game with the right support.
In Gen2 the PC box does not change automatically when it's full.

To make that Miltank even worse, in HeartGold and SoulSilver it's holding a Lum Berry. Have fun trying to poison or paralyze it.

Wow, Scykoh is just doind that gym leader fight with ease. Back when I played Gen 2, I was losing so much to Miltank just because it was so strong and I got so frustrated. Actually, I feel like that gym leaders in Gen 2 generally are quite a fight (I had more trouble with them than in other generations) - Anyone else feeling like that, too?

So trippy to think that attract was in gen 2. I never paid attention to the TM she gave us, and my first memory of seeing that move ever was in Emerald when my Skitty learned it.

That went incredibly well. I'm almost disappointed at how easy you took that Miltank down. I guess that's what happens when you put it off for as long as possible.
The last time I faced it (which was my first time ever), I went through my entire team, only catching a break when I stalled out its PP for Milk Drink. I walked out with badge in hand, so I consider it a victory.
It would have been better if it was kadabra and machoke so the two would evolve 😕

Did you know that if you have a berry and give it to shuckle and wait it will transfrorm into juice keep it longer and it will be rare candy only exclusive in gen2
Ah, finally we get to a Johto Gym Leader who actually has a Gen 2 'mon on their team. (And the first of only two with a completely brand new 'mon.)
Sadly, we won't be seeing that again for a while.

*YO! HELLO AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER AMAZING DAY OF POKÉMON! LET'S GET THINGS STARTED!* ^_^
I started things off today by trading the Abra I acquired earlier for a Machop! ^_^
Then I promptly deposited the Machop into the PC. Hehehe.
Now it's on to Goldenrod City Gym! ^_^
My first challenger was a Beauty named Victoria who started things off by sending out her Sentret so I let Rita deal with this little fuzzball. Hehehe.
Victoria responded by sending out her second Sentret so Rita took Round Two! ^_^
Victoria answered by sending out her third Sentret so Rita took Round Three! ^_^
As a result of that battle, Rita grew to Level 20! YAY! ^_^
#SOPROUD!
My next challenger was another Beauty (this one named Samantha) who started things off by sending out her Meowth so I let Pinekoh play with this kitty! ^_^
Samantha responded by sending out her second Meowth so I let Pinekoh take Round Two! ^_^
As a result of *this* battle, Pinekoh grew to Level 19! YAY! ^_^

My next challenger was a Lass named Carrie who sent out her Snubbull so I let Pinekoh play with this foe! ^_^
My next challenger was another Lass (this one's name is Bridget) who started things off by sending out her Jigglypuff so I let Pinekoh play with this sleep-inducing singer! ^_^
Bridget responded by sending out her second Jigglypuff so Pinekoh took Round Two! ^_^
Bridget answered by sending out her *third* Jigglypuff so Pinekoh took Round Three! ^_^
Now it was time to challenge the Gym Leader Whitney herself! ^_^
Whitney started things off by sending out her Clefairy so I let Rita deal with this chubby, pink, Peep of a Pokémon! Hehehe! ^_^
Whitney answered by sending out her dreaded Miltank!
I met the challenge by letting Pinekoh (with his INCREDIBLE DEFENSE and Protect ability) deal with this cow-wannabe! Hehehe! ^_^
As a result of *THAT* battle, Pinekoh grew to Level 20! YAY! ^_^
#KEEPUPTHEGOODWORKPINEKOH!
As a result of our victory over Whitney, I received 2000PKD, the Plain Badge, *AND* the TM45, which will allow me to teach Attract to someone in my own party! ^_^

I tried beating Whitney once with a Machop, and successfully won first try. Then, I lost all my save data and tried to beat Whitney again. I again beat her first try with my Victreebel. It was hilarious to me that people struggle so much with beating Whitney, and I just beat her first try. I was literally dying of laughter that's how funny it was. I'm also sorry if I offended anyone somehow.

Dear everyone who says "The machop makes this gym leader easy", stop lying.
Yes, Machop does well. But miltank is still absolutely godly bulky, recovery and will flinch you to death.
This miltank ruins worlds, regardless of what mon you use.
Props to scykoh using poison stall though. Wish it was possible in HG/SS. Stupid Lum Berry.

Don't gym leaders have AI that makes them always choose a super effective move, meaning Miltank has to keep using Rollout on a bug type instead of healing with Milk Drink?

On the contrary, the first Pokemon is the real problem, just ask werster.Clefairy used metronome, sacred fire, metronome explosion etc.

Yeah, it's easy when her Miltank doesn't use three-fourths of its moveset, including a damn healing move, and you just HAPPEN to know that Protect is the only thing that will cancel Rollout early. Yeah, try telling me that Miltank is ALWAYS that dumb.
Why do people in the Pokemon universe talk about how strong THEY are? They aren't the ones fighting! The Pokemon are fighting.
