Listening to this song in the morning gives me strength for the day. I can hear all the hope and pain of life in this, with a beautiful ending that reminds me everything will be ok in the end.
I grew up with my mom remarrying after my dad left. I couldn’t stand him sometimes and every time I would watch this movie it made me think of my life and how it mirrored a lot of the emotions that Leo gave in his performance

The musical score for the movie, "This Boy's Life" so effectively draws all of us through the painful, and yet delicately hopeful journey of Tobias' confusing childhood. I know that most of us who grew up in the west without fathers can relate to a lot of the things depicted in the movie. I believe that Tobias Wolff knew that as he wrote this story, and I believe that Director Michael Canton-Jones knew it when he decided to orchestrate the movie. Carter Burwell is genius in simplicity with the creation of the score - and though it will always haunt me to listen to, it also brings me a sense of peace.

You have a good ear. That is the portion of the score that brings a bit of lift to the underlying, heavier repose, which is depicted from @2:13 to about the end.
To bad the score is not available for purchase on iTunes or Amazon, just the fifties songs in it. I love to listen to scores when I write and edit my stories.
Je ne suis pas très fan de Di Caprio, mais "This boy's life" est selon moi l'un de ses meilleurs rôles avec Gilbert Grape. Dans ces 2 films, il est énorme.
