    I like this lens and also CN-E, but I don’t understand there’s no improvement in chromatic aberration. Thank you for uploading a good video.

    Wow! These lenses are awesome! I love this and totally wouldn’t expect canon to do something like this. will certainly be renting them for any big shoots

    I like the softer look of the Sumire lenses compared to the CN-Es, but I don't know why Canon opted to bake in so much halation and glow when that effect is easily achieved by a diffusion filter (which has the advantage of being removable). I buy lenses for their distortion and bokeh characteristics, not filter effects.

      Because Canon is infamous for not doing their market research. What a total fail.

    Are Sumire lenses working on 8k sensors ?
    or only with 4k cameras

    So when you stop down to a T2, T4, and T5.6 aren't these lenses just essentially CN-E's?

    Best thing about this test is the James Bond Vintage posters in the background :)

    You think that Canon sumire lens quality and sharpness is comparable to the Zeiss Otus line ?

    Is Tilta Nucleus-N strong enough to rotate Canon Sumire lenses?

    Oh god.... Canon sumire is equivalent of Cooke s7i , Zeiss supreme , arri signature , panavison VISTA ,... But they forget onething... To cover 46.3 images circle... This covering only 43.5

    • @CVPTV
      @CVPTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These actually can cover Monstro, when we made this video this was the spec I was given but they do cover the 46.31 image circle needed for Monstro.

      @@bharathkishanbengaluru3710 I would look at tests of both before investing. They are both very different lenses and it will come down to your own personal preference on the image.

    To me it seems that they are almost identical lenses. I never liked the CN-E's and this didnt change my opinion on canon lenses. They arent as sharp as other lenses that focus on sharpness and they arent really characteristic as something like old Lomo lenses, or Cooke lenses in general or other brands. They are just not appealing to me at all.

      I am quite fond of this new lenses, not so much with cn-e. I do very much love the vintage glass as I shot many project with zeiss super speed. people choose to shot vintage is just want to low contrast, less sharp and flare image in general, We don't need perfection or master prime in this situation. however, the canon k35 is really really expensive to even rent (probably the most expensive vintage lens)them.

    Lol pop a filter in with the cne and save thousands what a joke

  • @unclejezza

    Canon are lost - who are these for exactly? Owner operators are priced out of these (where the original CN-e’s made perfect sense). These have no data pass through so are useless on larger projects where that data is required on set and in post. Why would I chose these over an actual set of vintage lenses on a creative project? I don’t get it. And they want DOUBLE the price for lenses riddled with halation and blooming at wide apertures? I’ll just throw a filter on my CN-e primes thanks very much. Good luck Canon - your lenses are dying on the vine alongside your cameras.
