- Today we go to the track, and race my friend Ducki's B8.5 SQ5 vs mine. It's worth noting that before test pipes, Ducki ran a 12.5 in the 1/4 mile. Enjoy the video!

I think the supercharged sq5 is a faster power plant with mods available 🤔 when it comes down to it

Performance per dollar - the B8.5 is way better. They’re like $10k cheaper than a B9, you can use that $10k for a LOT. I covered it in my “watch this before buying a B9 SQ5” video!
When you were IE stage 1 ECU/stage 2 TCU, what were the best times you got? I'm APR stage 1 91 with the APR intercooler, and in my B9.5 SQ5 I reliably run 0-60 in 4.00 and 1/4 mile in 12.35 @ 110. I want a stage 2 TCU tune but don't want to go slower, and I can't find any evidence for stage 1 (IE, 034) that can match those times. FWIW, for stage 1, my best launch is at 3500 rpm, so WAY less than full boost, so I should be notably quicker if/when I can hook at full boost launch (4200 rpm).
Still don't get the crackle pop hype. But I've always driven a V8 until getting into a '19 SQ5 about a week ago
With a stage 1 tune can you get more out of the exhaust? Meaning pops/crackles? I only have the IE intake in my 23 sq5 now

Yo Eli, is Ducks car still stock pulleys? I'm stage 1 stock pulleys on my Q5 3.0T and I couldn't even get below a 13.07 lol
My stage 1 ECU/TCU ‘15 3.0T with just an intake managed 12.62 with 1800DA. There’s something holding you back.

I think Duck’s car is just set up well. If you put an IE tune in the car I imagine it would do the same time. The tunes are pretty comparable at this point, there’s only so much development you can do on one motor within a safe realm.

Maybe can’t afford multiple cars. Where this car has towing capability. 4 people can comfortably ride in the car. And it has pretty decent off road settings.
Bro get rid of these Audis and get yourself a bmw b58 you’ll make 600 whp in no time.
And be replacing every part and sensor aside from that B58 since BMWs today are still BMWs just saying.

@@LavaGreyQ5 Man and you were almost in the 11s. WOW. Seriously put lighter tires and wheels on there and see if that alone gets you into the 11s.
Do these downpipes allow use of factory cats? I want to keep my OEM cats for passing emissions.

Your point about hunting for gears is what I am experiencing with the "included" TCU tune with Stage 1. Wonder if the TCU upgrade will get rid of that and be smooth at lower RPMs?

Just gave the go ahead on replacement of both cats on my 2016 b8.5 s4 that burned up after maybe 15k miles running ie stage 1. Shop blames the tune but IE says it’s just an issue with the car design. Thoughts?
Research the issue - it’s an extremely common thing on these cars. They go on stock cars. I’d replace with test pipes before I gave the green light to replace. And if a shop does replace them, make sure you get the old ones back, they’re worth about $700-900
@@IgnitionTube Hey thanks for getting back! Well shoot, I was considering test pipes but the shop said I’d constantly have a cat code & wouldn’t pass Mass state inspection…
I actually asked them for the old ones back and they said Audi refunds the core charge for returning the old cats & reduced the cost of each cat by that amount… each cat was still 2200$ after that deduction.
Next time this happens I’ll probably go test pipes and deal with the code and figure out how to pass inspection once a year… I’m afraid it’s too late this time around
I just picked up a b9 SQ5. I was inspired by your b8 and this B9 to buy one. Im planning on buying IE intake, Intercooler, IE inlet pipe and the IE stage one engine and trans tune. Is there anything else you would recommend. It’s my daily so I want power but reliability.
That tuned SQ5 just slightly slower then my stock MK8 R. Not bad at all man
I beat a stage 2 apr golf r in my stage 1 ie b8 s4 it was very close tho got him by like car or car and half by the end
@@3028va3 Seems about right. That’s MK7 R but MK8 R is a lot faster
I had an issue with my IE tune took six weeks to get resolved. When I have a question for 034 I switched resolved within three days just saying.

Hey I got question about your previous S6. In one of your videos you briefly mentioned that you swapped to a round heated steering wheel. Did you also need to swap the airbag and the clockspring?
Never swapped! Came factory

Yes I don’t think they have a TCU tune for the B9 A4 yet
@@IgnitionTube is a stage 1 on a Audi typically safe, for eg is there any downside in the long run. Fairy new to modding so appreciate the tips!
Am I missing something? How does a B8.5 stage 1 go that fast? Stage 1 is just a flash right? No pulleys right?
Correct. He has test pipes and a file for them, a heat exchanger, and a solid TCU tune. Stage 1 S4’s have gone 11.7-11.8 so seeing an SQ go 12.1 isnt super crazy. It’s definitely fast though!
@@IgnitionTube what do you mean tune for cats off??? I remove the inside of my cats because they were melted. So they are empty now free flow. Can I do somthing with it in the tune to make it go faster than my stage 1 ???
