The mounting plate for the national geographic looks good at first glance, as it is metal and not plastic but the silver screw inside slides up and down and when screwed on to a device, the device spins around easily because the pin and mounting plate are poorly designed.

Interesting. Personally, I do not use the plate that came with the NatGeo tripod. Bu can see that happen.
