- In this I am showing my ALL BLACKS Starting XV for the upcoming ALL BLACKS vs FIJI 2024 test. This All Blacks Lineup has been made up of members of the original All Blacks 2024 squad that was announced after the Super Rugby Pacific 2024 Final. The All Blacks have completed their two matches against England and now have one against Fiji. Could this be the All Blacks Starting 15?

Fiji are really physical, this game might give us the answers as to who starts in the rugby championship.
Fiji fan here... If thats the team then we are in for a surprise 🙏🇫🇯 cant wait for this game... hopefully we get to play the all blacks regularly in the future.
Kiwi here. Fiji needs to be in the RC.
We desperately need taller locks. We need Josh Lord 205cm, Sam Darry 203cm and when eligible Fabian Holland 204cm to step up. We can then move Scooter to 6 where we are weak. He’s 197cm which is short for a lock but ideal at 6. Finau hasnt stamped his mark on the jersey.
I agree we need more depth at lock, but strategically, we ought to consider shifting Barrett to Blindside again for at least part of the game.

@@lewiswilliams227 This is true if you are considering him for a full 80 minutes - but look at every game where he has shifted there in the last few years and you will see a dominant forward performance.
Finau was a total failure
Martin Itoge is only 195cm but dominated the All Blacks line outs and is a world class international lock. Yes, height is useful but it’s not the be all end all. A successful line out is 70% throw and 30% jump. You can be 225cm but if you don’t have an accurate thrower or lifters that can time your leap then height becomes void. You also have to consider that a significant number of throws are not even contested by the opposition. So there is a lot of other variables other than height that need to be factored…not to mention a high work rate, resilience and leadership

Some handy combos Hamish. Sam and Brodie's impact at 4 and 5 is "conspicuous" by it's absence. It'll take some time to find horses of their calibre; and games are won, or lost, at lock.

Good solid choices. Nice mix of new and old. I want to see Caleb move into 13, I think he has matured and is now so much more solid a player. Make the perfect Nonu type player to draw defenders and open p the defense. Caleb is so solid under the high ball as well. ABs have to get their line out working at a higher percentage also. Any more Tall Timber out there?
I just find it weird that a lot of people picking Jacobson at 6 when he's been playing 8 for the Chiefs until Sititi arrived on the scene. In my opinion 6,7 and 8 are specialist positions only a very special player can play 2 or more of these positions well. Jacobson, Sititi or Ardie at 8 Finau at 6 and Papali'i or Blackadder at 7. Ratima must start Christie is not owning his position at 9.
Timber is not the answer at lineout, Timing is Key.You don't need two lifters if the ball comes off the top only two Supports when the jumper is on the way down,and that is an area where the pill is lost.Pushing at scrum time is only when you are 5 yards from tryline and opponents ball .The best scrums dont move at all,so half back has solid platform,Lack of control at the back is not good and pushing on your feed in the middle of the paddock is best avoided
We were guilty in the past for just throwing names out there and as a result we were scrappy we have got to be smarter meaning we have got to go with pre existing partnerships for this game againts fiji so hence this is my xv for the game againts fiji

Scott barrett I would rate as the 3rd best performing lock against England. This is why a lot of people thing Savea should have been captain as he always owns his place. Right now if barrett wasn't captain Vai would be close to taking his spot. Barrett needs to lift alot

Id rest Ofa and start williams. BB doesnt need to play the physical Fijians either. Keep Perofeta there. Rest is perfect.
Finau will need to grow into the 6 role it wont happen overnight but the potential is def there.

That’s weak… argue for something. It’s always easy to say no. If you look at the numbers, Clark isn’t as bad as you make out. We lack punch in the centre. We have speed but we need more brute force AND speed.
As long is reiko is far away from that 13 jersey I don’t care
Put the reserve front row from last week in the starting lineup, have Tosi, Tamaiti and I guess Bell on the bench. Shuffle the locks around, we've only got 3 so it's the same personnel, Jacobsen at 6, Blackadder at 7, Savea starting at 8 with Sititi on the bench until Blackadder suffers a season ending injury then Sititi to 8 and Savea to 7. Start Ratima, bench Christie (assuming TJ is still out), either Perofeta or Beauden at 10 (with the other at 15), bench Damian, give Beauden a full 80, Clarke on the left wing, Narawa on the right, ALB at 12, Proctor at 13, Reiko on the bench cover wing and the midfield or if they're worried about the game then Jordie.

pretty good squad, the back line looks ok with chiefs and canes playing side by side. I would put Jacobson at 8 with Sititi impact player just to settle in
Easy game for the AB’s. Good chance they’ll get injuries tho cos Fiji will be coming thru like a wrecking ball
2 games is not much. I think the AB priority should be working on their combination not resting players.
Jacobson no 6. Finau had his chances and failed
Jerome kaino took years to become our best 6. He was dropped many times, frizzel took 30 games nearly to actually blow up. Finau has only had like 3 games people need to be more patient we won the series, he got more game time, why give up on him now its stupid

Nice pick hamish. Wouldn't mind seeing the same team but rest jordie. Start the players that made the impact of the bench but keep Ratima on the bench. bring in 1 or 2 new players in subs to keep working combinations and cycle through. Got a 4 week rest before RC so the boys should be battle harden leading towards NH tour. Looking forward to it.

Think they will probably start with Newall at Tighthead and then bring the two tyros (Williams and Tosi) on later. Otherwise, pretty good selection.
I also think they need to consider throwing Scott Barrett at blindside for some of the game as a strategy, moving forward. We have been doing this for a few years anyway, and it partially fixes the line out problems the team has.

Jordy has been nothing short of brilliant for the all blacks. Don't know what you watch when the all blacks play but maybe you need to pay attention more closely
