His 2 singles clears it out, even he just literally made an cool approach in genres like Micro Bass (I saw in Chime's A:B firstly, then this), Midtempo, Future Garage/Deep House Awesome album, Scorched Earth & Believe What You Want are 🔥
just saw VR on tour, he said that the melody on ridiculous was a kids toy piano, and the 4 notes of the melody are just him playing the 4 notes on the piano unedited
#16 - Sounds about right #15 - For an intro this is super good, this flows into Stealing Fire so well #14 - Agree with ya on this one. The instrumentation is sick #13 - It goes hard and I love the switchup near the end where it slows down (just like Disorder by RIOT) but I wouldn't play this with friends. That's a guilty pleasure if I've ever seen one #12 - Good #11 - Has a lot of cool bubbly sounds #10 - Would be higher up on this list if it weren't for "Give in to you" #9 - This shit slaps, period #8 - A really good way to close off such a masterful album #7 - Yeah this one fucks. All three drops sound different from each other and flow very nicely #6 - It's still a 9.5/10 at worst #5 - Does also kinda sound like it would fit VR's Simulation album #4 - So does this one #3 - Absolute banger and a half. That switchup was nuts #2 - I didn't expect Liquid DnB with good ass vocal chops from Val so I was pleasantly suprised about this one #1 - WHAT THE ACTUAL LIVING FUCK (this is a compliment)
You know this album is cracked when Nawtystep pauses and/or rewinds multiple times while listening to the full album. The Mongolian throat singing in Star Destroyer completely broke Connor lmao 😂
One of the things that Scorched Earth has going for it is the vocal samples they used before the Tech Trance drop. I'm a slut for non-english vocals so that was just fuckin delicious imma eat it up and also the Garange outro Believe what you want, again the vocals got me entrance because of how... uniquely processed they were? The fucking drops were great too, and full of variety It's great that of all the albums this year I feel like this has the most variety and a lot of replayability
The pre drop on "Dino Killer" was the hype! The drop was not that energetic/cool though 😢, i was thinking of something like "REDLINE" second drop sound design craziness considering there's a DINOSAUR Theme! (At least I thought).
I think virtual riot has had better projects but I really like this one too. Some great experimentation in tracks like Dino Killer and the Mongolian throat singing drop in Star Destroyer. Also, the combination of Night on Fire and Ridiculous is fucking phenomenal. I’d say the only thing is that the advantage other VR projects have had has been focus/a theme to them (simulation is so good because of it). This one felt experimental and maybe also timelines that monstercat can have could’ve affected things. I enjoyed the project tho. Cleanest project by far and some amazing production done by the boy Valentin
my ranking: 1. Ridiculous 2. Give In To You Ft. Rezz, One True God 3. New Energy 4. Star Destroyer 5. VROOM 6. Reconnect 7. Nights On Fire (2024) 8. Scorched Earth 9. Believe What You Want 10. Stealing Fire 11. Holding On To Smoke Ft. Raven Gray 12. Need/Get 13. Dino Killer 14. Black Sands (Interlude) 15. Embark 16. impending (Interlude) I honestly prefer Simulation over this record. I feel like Virtual Riot has so many creative Ideas, but they never take full effect when it comes to his projects.
Yeah I wasn't a huge fan of Dino Killer. I can appreciate it, but it just felt kind of bland to me. I usually see VR's stuff having a ton of interesting variation and twists and DK was kind of just repetitive. Which is weird since I normally go for that kind of song, but it just really didn't click.
Definitely his most underwhelming project yet. Theres little to no personality in most of these tracks, and even the riddim/house cuts are just plain generic for his standards. My problem is that the tracks are either uninspired, or they sound like a simulation LP cut. At least the last song was great.
Eh I'm the opposite, I think alot of these tracks hold alot of meaning to them just as much as his older tracks did. Maybe it's my interpretation but I think they have a sort of essence to them to which makes them so special honestly. I think this album will grow on me and I understand it didnt leave a best impression to you but I still think there were some inspiration and creativity to them.
@@ROAN3 I guess a 6.6/10 score with a reasoning explaining it’s not my preferred style of dubstep and hope that it grows on me counts as hating now lol
Double upload day?!? Lol like this comment if you actually watched my beat saber vid
Dcranks Dubstep hater confirmed
Still thought it was an Alan Walker album when I first saw the cover art
same lmao
As a bass house glazer, I agree with Stealing Fire
Even if i didnt like the song as a whole, the "not yet" on dino killer is hype af
Fun fact: The original Nights On Fire was on Disciple 2013
VROOM, Stealing Fire and Scorched Earth are crazy
Also Dino Killer
@@ROAN3that’s what I was abt to say
Dino killer my fav song on the album and the “not yet” one of my favorite parts😭
My top 3 is Believe What You Want, Stealing Fire, and Reconnect.
Dude I’m so sad that Ridiculous has no chance of making it into the BO2024 comp. Literally sounds like if RIOT and Teminite had a child
His 2 singles clears it out, even he just literally made an cool approach in genres like Micro Bass (I saw in Chime's A:B firstly, then this), Midtempo, Future Garage/Deep House
Awesome album, Scorched Earth & Believe What You Want are 🔥
Holding onto smoke is soo good
First No Mana and Now Virtual Riot! My top 2 artists releasing albums on Monstercat this year!
@@FallinInAPhalaro9889 and they’re the top 2 albums 👀
4:26 This sounds like THYKIER - INTENSIFY
Decent album. Loved the interludes ngl
Here we have yet another DC vid!

0:57 ok VR made chill classic music? Unexpected...

Nah, Dino Killer has to be one of VR's most fun tracks
Agree
not yet
goes insane in a live setting
Frrrr
Man. I miss 2010s Virtual Riot.

IMO this one is much better than Simulation. Production sounds better aswell as the ideas

Need/Get sounds so familiar but I can't remember which track it reminds me of
my ranking:

idk if you like house music but you should definitely check out salute's album from a couple of months ago called 'true magic', so damn good!!
Stealing Fire >>> Simulation
And agree with the #1
Simulation imo had more personality and emotions, it's reeeeeally close for me
nope bro
Nah
Ay look, my birthday release. Anyway...
Best: Dino Killer (Crazy how low it is)
Worst: VROOM! and New Energy
need/get could have been a shaq Collab (now we got problems)
Believe what u want is the best just saying

Cmon, Embark? 15th place?
It’s good I think but Admittedly I had higher expectations, maybe they were too high

Why did you put Dino Killer in 13th place, it's one of the best songs on the album, you're just a Dubstep hater just like that lol.
He literally put a dubstep song in the first place wdym.
