i dont know much about it but for example recently i installed god of war 2 on my pc through pcsx2 and i downloaded a saved game file from internet and copied and replaced it in memcards folder and surprisingly all the in game data changed and now i am able to save progress in memory slot 2 ( i think file i downloaded was memory slot 2) hope it helps
