Only grilling youtube video I use for grilled salmon. My wife loves it and its perfect. I watch it each time I grill salmon which is about 10 times a year.
Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.
I picked up some a really nice Faroe salmon this weekend and grilled it with your rub. Gf said it's the best home cooked salmon she's ever had! I also have we Weber Genesis and it came out exactly like the salmon in the video! Amazing grill marks and caramelization!
One of the only people I’ve seen that says to eat the skin. I love the skin, didn’t eat it for years and then just tried it one day and let me just say that if you get it nice and crispy it makes for a whole different experience! Great video btw, gonna have to try that rub out some time.
I always just deal with salmon. I've tried making it SO many ways!! THIS is the only way I'll ever make it again. That rub is the best!! I can't thank you enough!!
My wife was vegetarian for 8 years, just started eating small amounts of meat again at the advice of her rheumatologist, and i made this tonight for us, her friend, and two very picky 6 year olds. Everybody loved it. Thank you mate
well, that's exciting..... glad it worked out for such an important occasion... I am glad I did not ruin the thought of fish on her first time back trying it!
I always do smoked Salmon man, but I bought some Salmon fillets just to grill some today. I'm in the middle of a direct grilling series on the channel so I want to go straight direct with them the whole time. I love that you went flesh side down first AND got great grill marks. I've seen people say not to grill the flesh side a ALL, and I've seen at least one other channel say you won't get grill marks on the flesh side. LIES, lol! Great cook man, it gets no easier than this.
Dude, I don't want to get my comment removed by TH-cam, so let me just say..... THAT WAS FRICKIN AWESOME! I just pushed back from the dining room table and came straight to my phone to say thank you! I picked up two beautiful salmon fillets today and had an idea of how I want to grill them, but surfed around to find your video and changed my plans. Your ingredients seemed very intriguing and sounded delicious, but I had no idea just how good this was going to be. I've had grilled salmon on the coast of Washington State, the bay area of California and many places in between. When I can afford it, it's the fish I ordered from restaurants. But brother, let me tell you again, this is the best salmon I have ever tasted. Thanks again for your posting of the video and the hard work you went to to provide us with the information as well as barbecuing this for us to enjoy.
Tried this on my Kamado Joe grill. I'm the beef eater you described in the video, but gave this a go. It delivered as promised! Wife and kids devoured it, so did I! (note: I did throttle back allot on the salt, and it still turned out great!).
thanks... I like your videos.... they have me contemplating whether to buy an XL Egg or Big Joe for my next purchase.. I currently have 2 large green eggs. Tough call
I have been watching your video for the last few months, deciding to invest in your Rub Receipt or not. Well I did and I am DAMN happy of it. After completing your rub recipe it makes two good size bottles of Salmon Rub, that you can use anytime. I normally only do a light blackened seasoning with some kosher salt and fresh ground pepper on my Salmon with EVOO. Your recipe Rocks The World Bro. By far the best Salmon I have ever had in my life !!!
Thank you so much. Great recipe. Tried it today with Salmon my wife and daughter loved it. Do both dont eat Salmon much but this time, there was no left overs.
Can confirm that this also works on a Traeger pellet grill that reaches 500 hundo degrees. Thank you for providing avg grillers the confidence to try salmon this aggressively. This was excellent. My wife thought it would be too spicy and I said just try it, not one person mentioned it was too spicy in the comments :) Of course, she loved it.
Wow, tried this recipe but on my Weber charcoal grill and it was amazing! We’re trying to eat less red meat so will definitely add this to our regular rotation.
New subscriber you got me at “ that ribeye looks amazing” 🤣🤣🤣. Gotta shore up my diet but there will always be a special place in my heart for a nice ribeye!
thanks man... hope you are having a great day down in Florida... its 50 degrees and raining here in Iowa right now... man its got to be better down there!
First time I have seen you, very cool. Love your very last comment, food always tastes better outdoors. I couldn't agree more. Nice video dude, short and sharp, excellent.
I live on Vancouver Island and the best barbecue salmon is done right on the beach with cedar and driftwood in a fire pit. From the fishing rod to the plate .
I only cooked one filet so I just fired up one of 3 burners, Couldn't get it to heat over 350 so it took a lot longer to cook. Should I have lit all burners or 2? It still came out good, but a bit dry as the internal temp ended up getting to 170 after I flipped. Was winging the time at that point. Your method of oiling and flipped worked great. I had marinated it for awhile, as I don't like fishy taste, then wiped it off before oiling and grilling.
So... I keep all three burners on all the time. I do medium heat to start... in that 450 range. Then after I flip at the 3 minute mark, I turn it to low or medium low
hahahaha this opening was just hilarious lol about to go to the store now to get the needed items for the rub so ill let you know how it turns out !! by the reviews im assuming amazing !
You’re backyard is the ultimate dad flex. Thanks for the inspiration. And the salmon is spot on!
