You could say the MLM reps are like franchisees but the difference with that is franchisees make money from their store being successful, their profit isn’t based off of recruiting more and more franchisees under them. In an MLM it’s basically that, you pay to join, then get paid the more people you bring in under you. I don’t agree with MLMs, but I understand why that feels like such little time to get that done. Sells can take a long time to build up and unfortunately, they weren’t focused as much on sells as team building because sells didn’t pay nearly as much as team building.

I can sympathize with them a bit because I totally get financial stress and losing part (or all) of your income would be scary, but I do agree it’s totally for the best since those who are really upset are probably the ones who most of their money came from down lines.
I truly think this is the best outcome for everyone involved in these companies. Isn't it easier to find customers for makeup than someone for your team every month? And if they don't sell enough they hopefully realise it and are not pressured to continue in toxic team calls.
I'm so torn between feeling bad for the reps and being happy for them because 99% of them werent making money and were never going to. I hope they realize that MLMs are not the way to go so they shouldn't double down and move to the different company
Such a good way to describe it! I feel the same. Like I can empathize with how hard it would be to basically lose your job/ part or all of your income, and even if they weren’t making any they’re losing the “dream” they were sold. But ultimately I hope it’s a good thing and gets them out of MLM!
I feel so bad for that one particular Seint artist - she seems so sweet! But what has become extremely apparent after these shutdowns and changes in structure is that these people are NOT business owners. They are NOT CEOs. I would hope that reality would hit them during all of this.
Agreed, I think she genuinely just seemed scared for the changes because she doesn’t understand them. Hopefully she does well with affiliate and can just sell the makeup!
It’s crazy how NASTY the lady who just used the products because she “liked them” to all the people who lost their income. People say anti MLMers are mean but I’ve seen WAY more sympathy from you than her. Disgusting and also I don’t buy she isn’t getting some kinda kick back directly because the make up ain’t that good. Her application made zero sense and when she blends it it’ll probably look a mess
I agree it wasn’t nice at all!! Ultimately the way I see it is she still promoted the MLM regardless of if that’s how she sold it or not. The mlm aspect was a huge part of that business.
If it’s not about the money then continue to love the product and promote it on social media. I get it some of these women make a lot of money thanks to their downline so it sucks. If they were that successful in the business then they should have no issues still selling the products and still make money. I don’t blame companies for switching from the MLM model. I won’t buy products from an MLM and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Agreed I won’t buy from MLMs either, even if not through a rep! I just don’t agree with it and don’t want to support, so it totally makes sense why these companies would drop the MLM structure that alienates potential customers.
Now that I’m done with my word vomit, I love you. 😂💕 Sorry for all the rants, it’s just as the video progressed I got more irate at their reactions. The girl crying saying she went into this as a new mom, ahhh. So sad. She was taken advantage of. She was preyed on. Love bombed. 😢
🩷🩷 I love all the comments I’m so here for it!! And agreed, it’s sad for people like that and hopefully this is the push they need to get out of MLM all together, not just jump to another one where this can happen again.
If you made your money as a MLM'er I can't feel sorry for you, because how many people lost everything for you to have a house, car, food in your cupboards aka your downline 😎💅🏿? If these people were so good at sales why didn't they get a real sales job or create their own business?
i know this is going to sound bad but i can care less about the folks that spent their lives quote on quote building teams and elevating a company that preys on women in vulnerable situations
I think it’s weird how people are supportive of The downline when those people were also recruiting people to make themselves richer… they’re not innocent… so I don’t feel bad for them
Why are they so delusion? If it was your business, your company there is no boss who would rip the rug from under you. Yeah there are other ways to make money, get a job.
Agreed it isn’t their own business! They sell it to others as if you can “be a business owner” and work for yourself, but clearly that isn’t the reality!
They act like real jobs don’t exist. The same ones they talked so much crap about are the same ones still available that aren’t going anywhere. It’s hard to feel bad for many of them. It does always suck to hear just how much they depended on these mlms for community and friendship.
So so true!! And agreed, it’s sad that a lot of the time the mlm is their job as well as their source of friendship and community (even if the friendships turn out to be very fake sometimes!)
I’ve been using sient for a year or two now & At first I hated it. But I kept using it and once I stopped trying to pile it all on at once I started to really love it. I have zero affiliation with them but I do really like the makeup. I love how it’s so compact and convenient too
I used to use Rodan and Fields products when you could order them directly from the company by mail. Then I believe they were on QVC for a while and they also had vending machines in malls where you could buy the products. I loved the vending machines. The closest thing to being available in a stores or being sold in a Rodan and Fields store. When they switched to an MLM I stopped using their products altogether. I do not support MLMs and I was NOT dealing with any BS sales pressure from a rep. It just seems people will never learn that MLMs simply do not work for most people. Most people actually lose money or barely break even. Only the people at the very top are actually making a lot of money and it is off all of the sales from the people under them. We have known about MLMs for a LONG time now and how their business model works. So, why anyone would ever join an MLM I have no idea and no sympathy. You were never an employee of the company. They simply allowed you to sell their products and to take commission from your sales. It is not your own business by any means. People who are actually employed by a company directly don't have a say in many things and changes can occur at anytime. You can also be let go from your job and they don't have to give you a reason as most are "at will" employers or even give you a heads up they are laying you off.
My niece sells R&F. She was very high up on the pyramid. Not sure what she will do now. She tried to get me involved be I broke out so bad that I had to got to a dermatologist to get my skin back to normal. She told me it was just my skin trying to adjust. The doctor I saw said that was just BS.
Here's the thing- mlms have always said that they do advertising through their reps so they can thus spend the money they would have on paid ads to pay their reps and make better products, which is a lie. In fact they overcharged for crap products and were forced to pay a select few multiple millions. Now with affiliate marketing they get to cut the top earners off and only pay those who make legit sales. Plus they still get the free advertising through the affiliates and they actually have a chance of reaching a much larger customer base, especially if they can make their prices more reasonable. Its a win win for everyone but the high ranking hunbots.
First I hate MLM companies, and don’t want anyone to be sucked into one, but I also don’t see anything wrong with someone “poaching” someone who basically just lost their job. If your business is essentially having a down line, then your main focus should be building that down line. Why does it matter how. That’s business baby! As they say. People do this in the real business world all the time.
Thays an interesting way to think about it!! I think the video came off a little insensitive, but like you said that is business at the end of the day, and many of those people probably are looking for the next MLM to jump to.
But if you have been with the company Seint long enough to claim that you “helped build the business,” you probably have a pretty large downline and have been making pretty good money off the effort of others so if you think Seint owes you anything, you would owe you downline the same. Just saying…
Such a good point! Agreed. I think these people see Seint closing the mlm as something bad happening to THEM but don’t even think about how it’s also happening to the people they roped in
If they believe in the products so much (which is what they always say) what’s wrong with selling it themselves and earning commissions that way? Why are they ok with so much competition? 🙄
What those at the bottom don’t understand is so many, including the top, will go elsewhere and therefore those who stay have a larger customer base to work with. Those who truly love the product will stiff buy but with less “artists” those who stay can now make a living. So the one worried she can’t meet quotas, I think she’d be surprised if she truly is a salesperson.
Totally fair, that’s a good point! I think selling things can be hard for people (I myself am not great at it) but if they were willing to recruit people into the mlm and “sell” the lifestyle then selling the actual product should be easy!
I tried MLM and it just never sat well with me. I always felt like I was lying and robbing people. I got involved in the BeachBody scam for about a month and walked. All those “diamonds” people are living pretty good lives and I’m still here struggling the real life. 😅
I truly believe that there are no quotas in Seint, it's just that you have make sales to make money. You want to make 250$ - you have to sell 1000$ worth of stuff. That's the quota. "No quotas" = you can ride your downline and do no work. edit: About Beautycounter. I don't think there will be any switch back from Arbonne. The owner simply sold the personal information of the top reps to Arbonne. As you said - there aren't many people these days to recruit, so the reps became a nice asset to sell.
That makes a lot more sense. Like no quota but of course if you don’t sell you won’t make anything. So interesting! I’d love to hear the convos of the top beauty counter reps who moved over.
It’s 2024. If I cannot walk into a store and grab it or order it off Amazon, I don’t want it! It amazes me that people buy from these companies and their “beauty consultants”.
Seriously, we are expected to feel sorry for this young lady 12:52 who will have to find a real job or-more likely-switch to another MLM (“I have a very small customer base”) which means of course she makes her money from her downline, not from actually doing work selling products. I compare MLM huns to pimps-the pimps make the money while their ‘sales force’ does all the work.
I had a look at the Seint affiliate program rates and there isn't a quota? There are levels so you get a higher percentage of commission the more you sell, but the first level is $0 to $1000. So I suspect crying Seint lady is actually upset she will now have to actually sell product to make what she previously was building a nice pyramid.
I do feel bad for the people who have been making their living from this. All business is essentially a product for a cost. It costs some people more and many work for very little. I agree though, all MLMs should be banned. The big people just making more money from poor people with poor judgement. But yeah, still feel foe them losing their lively hood
Welp... if they fail it's bc they didn't "work hard enough", right? At least that's what they told people when asked why most people make no money in an MLM. Where is that "hustle" mentality now??
Edit: LOL. Just got to the part of the video were you mentioned that most affiliate marketing don't have quotas. Old comment: Looks like I've been mistaken for years. Maybe because I've only done affiliate marketing with Amazon years ago. I thought affiliate marketing didn't have quotas for selling but from the videos in this video it sounded like some affiliate marketing programs do? Can anyone explain it to me or link me too info?
i'm not a fan off mlms but this constant thing that you are making money off your downline is wrong. the company is paying you that money for expanding their business. your downline weren't going to be paid that money anyway, and most likely joined the business to have the same opportunity.
Highest earner in an MLM is pretty much equivalent to best scammer. You don't have to feel bad for these people. In a righteous society they would go to jail. If the husband agrees to retire and live off of his wife's scam then he is just as bad and you don't have to feel sorry for him either.
I think MLM’s and sometimes we distributors do things wrong. That being said, I think there are betters ways. I don’t understand people who wish to see the companies fail. Especially since all companies are marketing to you on a daily basis. Lol

Such a good way to describe it! I feel the same. Like I can empathize with how hard it would be to basically lose your job/ part or all of your income, and even if they weren’t making any they’re losing the “dream” they were sold. But ultimately I hope it’s a good thing and gets them out of MLM!
Very true
it doesn’t suck for people who built teams and took advantage of people , you can’t be successful in an MLM
without taking advantage of others
I just don’t agree with it and don’t want to support, so it totally makes sense why these companies would drop the MLM structure that alienates potential customers.
oh no Beautycounter! preparing to pretend to feel sympathy for my annoying coworker who was involved in that shit
🤣🤣 I’m not sure if it’ll reopen but whatever is going on it doesn’t seem good!
Looking gorgeous, girl! Love the hair and makeup 🥰
Thank you so much 🥺🩷
Now that I’m done with my word vomit, I love you. 😂💕
Sorry for all the rants, it’s just as the video progressed I got more irate at their reactions.
Yeah i totally get that, it's hard to be sympathetic when you know how predatory that 'business' model is.
i know this is going to sound bad but i can care less about the folks that spent their lives quote on quote building teams and elevating a company that preys on women in vulnerable situations
Totally valid to feel that way!! I can see it being hard to sympathize with them knowing that many of them prey on people for their own personal gain.
29:07 - It is NOT their business though. They just sell the products and try to recruit people to be part of the scam.
100%! They pitch it to others saying you “own” your own business but that’s just not accurate
I think it’s weird how people are supportive of The downline when those people were also recruiting people to make themselves richer… they’re not innocent… so I don’t feel bad for them
This is great! It removes the incentive to manipulate women in to debt ❤
Always happy when you post a new video! ❤
Thank you so much! That means a lot 🩷
I’ve been using sient for a year or two now & At first I hated it. But I kept using it and once I stopped trying to pile it all on at once I started to really love it. I have zero affiliation with them but I do really like the makeup. I love how it’s so compact and convenient too
I just hate how expensive it is.
21:25 is weird. She took the time to record her all night emotional crisis
Please tell me LeVel is closing too!
Either these women are gonna be prey for other reps from other MLMs or they're gonna join another MLM and the cycle starta again
Unfortunately that will happen for most I’m sure!
I tried MLM and it just never sat well with me. I always felt like I was lying and robbing people. I got involved in the BeachBody scam for about a month and walked. All those “diamonds” people are living pretty good lives and I’m still here struggling the real life. 😅
SAME HERE - beachbody and I didn't last because i felt SO awkward and forced with the lingo they wanted me to use and the cold messaging people.
Have you seen the new MML life wave. The sell these steam cell patches.
51:41 It's all good on this end. I didnt hear the construction noise
Thank you!!! I’m never sure what picks up and I have limited time to record so I kinda just have to go with it 🤣 glad it wasn’t awful
@@KylaJames you're welcome! And yes, just go with it. No need to stress over the small things
I hope Beachbody does down- I loathe several of the top earners.
Oh interesting! Thank you for sharing that
It's not YOUR small business when you can be terminated and the company can make changes without your input! Surprise!
I do feel bad for the people who have been making their living from this. All business is essentially a product for a cost. It costs some people more and many work for very little. I agree though, all MLMs should be banned. The big people just making more money from poor people with poor judgement.
But yeah, still feel foe them losing their lively hood
Arg, seriously? Is a ‘lively hood’ a neighborhood of happy, joyful people? Perhaps you meant ‘livelihood’?
Welp... if they fail it's bc they didn't "work hard enough", right? At least that's what they told people when asked why most people make no money in an MLM. Where is that "hustle" mentality now??
Yep. God really cares about those MLMs.
Yes it seems like Seint will have quotas, but majority of affiliate programs do not and it’s just a matter of how much you want to link/ sell!
So many of these folks are very unstable, and these companies capitalized on their vulnerability.
Am I the only one that thinks some of the anti MLM channels are a little nervous about this stuff, I mean what will they do videos on now!?
I just decluttered all of my Seint products. There are so many better cream makeup options available!
What do you use now?
@ Merit foundation stick.
wow, mlm main people finally figuring out the harsh reality many people in their downline face ...
i'm not a fan off mlms but this constant thing that you are making money off your downline is wrong. the company is paying you that money for expanding their business. your downline weren't going to be paid that money anyway, and most likely joined the business to have the same opportunity.
Highest earner in an MLM is pretty much equivalent to best scammer. You don't have to feel bad for these people. In a righteous society they would go to jail. If the husband agrees to retire and live off of his wife's scam then he is just as bad and you don't have to feel sorry for him either.
R&F is crazy overpriced too
I think MLM’s and sometimes we distributors do things wrong. That being said, I think there are betters ways. I don’t understand people who wish to see the companies fail. Especially since all companies are marketing to you on a daily basis. Lol
Swipe for details?
Swiper No Swiping!

Paparazzi Accessories didn’t change. I thought it would.
Honestly im surprised it hasn’t because I forget that one even exists a lot! I don’t see any buzz about it online at all.
