I put a Foggetti tankless unit in our 07 Keystone NRG and became spoiled. Flawless operation. We now have a Itasca Horizon and I'm looking to upgrade our current water heater to a tankless. Since these units are a bit on the pricey side, you video helps take the sting out of the cost.
    Thanks for the concise video.

I like that this Truma works. Nice idea to have it for your water heater. Ya I wouldn’t mind the propane at all I think. Just as long as I can take hot showers longer that’s fine with me. Thank you again Izzy and MJ. Have a great week and weekend this holiday .

Great job! Loved the "no BS" approach and lack of excruciating detail that some videos give. Loved the 5-star"Lobster" comment cuz been there and done that in many a RV shower! Our 2020 Tiffin Breeze 33Br came with the Truma and we love it so far. Using it now for three months in Florida. It has been flawless in operation. We are running in Eco mode and have not seen any loss in propane. It is literally minuscule. So much better than a hot water tank.😀😀

Great video. We bought on your recommendation a while back. I agree 100%. This is the best unit on the market. We use it for full time living and have had zero issues with it. We have the same unit as you do. The top until has to be installed when the RV is being built. That is the only way you can get it. It has some additional lines that have to be run to it for so advanced features. I did use your code when we bought this. I hope you got the $50. We never got anything but that is ok. Great review y'all. The system costed us right at $1900 installed but the price for the base system from Truma has gone up since then. Still by far worth it.

We put a Truma system in our new Outdoors RV right after we brought it home. Have been using it full time for two years and have also had zero problems as well. Our experience is different in our new 2020 Rverstone. We very seldom use because it takes at least 90 seconds to begin getting warm water. If you are in a RV park with full water and graywater dump they fine. For boondocking, our water is precious and we only use for q quick shower and otherwise only cold water for hands and even most dishwashing. I heard all the hype about this product but even Truma tells me that they can not change any settings. BTW our camping is not in cold weather so why the excessive time, Truma couldn't say.

Great video. We have the Plus version in our 2017 Pleasureway Lexor. The AquaGo Plus version makes use of re circulation pipes to keep the water at your faucet hot at all times. When in comfort mode, it circulates hot water throughout the hot water pipes and back to the unit even if there is no call for hot water. True instant hot water. These pipes must be installed in your RV during the build process. For this reason, the Plus version is not available as an aftermarket unit.

Hi, I am in Australia. I was thinking of using the comfort plus somehow to provide hydronic heating on the recirculating cycle. This would need a separate tap to run to the heating pipes. Would this work? 120 degrees might be too hot for hydronic pipes.....

My tankless hot water heater cost $48 brand new on eBay., They used to cost over $120 All of this complicated stuff you are showing is outdated and unnecessary. Mine gets hot in less than 2 seconds, no maintenance required. I've been using these for years, never had a problem. Easy to set up out of the box, ready to go.

I took one of these camp models, with flashlight battery ignition (batterys last about 3 years) and put it on top of the existing hot water heater using original water and gas lines, my cost dropped to approx. $12.50 per month, for all my hot water needs

We bought a used 2020 Tiffin one week ago, and it has a Truma that has not worked consistently. It seems to give us hot water only when it feels like it. One RV tech who has worked on Trumas could not solve the problem and recommended someone who was apparently highly certified Truma tech, but he would not even talk to us on the phone. We called Tiffin and were told that their techs are not permitted to work on Trumas. We called Truma and were told that we could take it to any RV tech. That leaves us quickly jumping in the shower whenever we do get hot water. We need help!

I just have to say one thing. ANY product that requires you to pay specific people to install is a hard no in my book! Many people are many times smarter than the people RV dealers hire, and can do a much better job installing products.
I will never support or buy any product that doesn't allow for self install or repair. For example, Apple and Tesla.

Great review. I am considering changing my hot water heater. Question, why is it called tankless, but there is water in the tank? I always thought
no tank existed. I know you do not camp in the winter, but from your experience; would you say that having a Truma is better than the original hot water heater during freezings temps?

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Good question. There is a small tank however I think they claim tankless because the water never runs cold like it would in a tanked water heater. As long as you have water and propane you have hot water. Hope that helps explain it better. Thanks for watching and the question

I have owned rvs with traditional tank water heaters for 30 yrs. We were very happy with our propane/electric water heaters. Just bought a 2020 motorhome with Truma tankless. Seems like a solution looking for a problem. First the mixing tank was broken by a freeze before we purchased, took months to get parts from Germany and Truma wii not sell parts to anyone except approved installers. I bought the anti freeze kit for over $300 and hate it. It runs the recirculation pump 24/7, which is inches from my head in bed and not quiet. Hate the stupid noises heater makes switching on and off, especially when sleeping. The descaling tabs are $30 per year, my old heater required nothing. I wish our rv did not have this expensive option that just keeps costing money and making noise

This heater is the way to go, because of the small centralized layout of a mobile coach, tankless is an excellent solution! I would not put tankless in the typical American home with its large footprint and it's decentralized layout. In Europe, tankless is extremely popular because of the smaller nature of their homes.

We have a Truma HW system and it does indeed keep the hot water flowing. They mention "INSTANT" hot water at every faucet! This is NOT TRUE in our case. There is a 2-3 minutes or more delay when turning on the hot water at the faucet. Once you get hot water at that faucet it will continue more quickly. We often fill a gallon jug with water before getting any HW. Is there a secret that we are unaware of?

As an hvac and plumbing technician for 20 years, I saw you open up the Temp/pressure valve as part of winterizing. Do NOT do that. It won't hurt anything, but what WILL happen is eventually tiny little sediment particles will get in the diafram and it will start leaking and you will be forced to replace it.
