    Many thanks for all your tutorials, had a few minutes to spare and viewed it all the way through and realised how much i missed first time. It is easy to think you know more than you do and rush onto a more advanced stage. Have been on flight sims since M S 98 and enjoy the GARMIN G1000 NXI it increases the enjoyment and feel you achieve something when using it . Will now run through your other related videos, which explain it so well.

    Apropos of nothing: I immediately recognised where he was flying in the intro. The Fraser Valley, east of Vancouver. My stomping ground, although rarely in the air. The world model in MSFS 2020 really is impressive.

    Thank you for such a clear and concise tutorial. I was struggling to understand the altitude hold and vertical speed relationship under autopilot and you have explained it with ease and clarity whilst others got me more confused. Excellent work and it is from generous people like you who spends the time and effort to enlighten mere mortals like me so that I could get more out of my sim flights. Thank you again.

    Very nice video! One thing I have to add tho is you can add flaps ten below 110 kts per the aircraft POH and flaps 20 and 30 you have to be in the white arc (below 85 as you said) on the airspeed tape. Keep up the good work!

    I really enjoy your videos. After taking off in the C172 today as I was climbing and then engaged the AP. The AP letters began flashing yellow and not long after that the AP disengaged. Not sure what I did wrong. Thank you!

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whilst the AP is engaged, if you pitch or bank to sharply, the AP will then disengage and flash in the G1000.

    Thank you for this informative video. Just 2 questions, if I may. I noticed the Flight Director (FD) was off in the earlier part of the video but later appeared on (the magenta lines appeared in the artificial horizon) -- when exactly (if at all) do we turn the FD on? Secondly, the annunciator at the top of the PFD initially was blank, but later showed ROL (roll) and PIT (pitch) modes. What prompted these to be displayed -- was it the switching on of the FD or the AP or something else?

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      An important thing to note about this video, is that I was using the default/old Garmin; the latest NXI version is much more accurate, with many new features & apparently, more accurate displays.
      I didn't utilise the FD in the flight: it may just have been on by default.

    Another great video Huddison. Question. How can I get rid of those pesky white rectangles that keep popping up with suggestions i.e. "To maintain 70knts in climb out, pitch the aircrafts nose up". They have the habit of appearing right over any adjustments you make to the G1000. Help!!! They really wind me up!!! Regards Dave.

      @morgidvmw0mdv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Huddison Thanks Huddison, that was brilliant advice. Had two lovely flights to day without those pesky while rectangles turning up all the time. Did a low-level IFR flight from Cardiff up to Heathrow and then from Heathrow up to Manchester. A problem showed up with both flights, ATC said to expect vectors to the active runways, but those vectors never came. In the end I had to turn around and head back to the airports. and then in Manchester, after landing and contacting ground and asking for directions to parking there was no way to confirm the contact, only to ask ground to repeat the instructions. Still, it was all great fun. Thanks again. Dave.

      I use a mouse and keyboard with MSFS on Xbox. I click and HOLD the left button, then click the RIGHT button, and that makes the arrow appear. I drag the map around while holding the left button., as you'd expect. To turn it off, I again click and hold the left button and click the right button. I've never tried it with the Xbox controller, though.

    To be honest I don't like Glass Cockpit.
    It seems like "'manipulating a conputer screen IN THE conputer screen" and it's ridiculous to me.
    Yes G1000 is great in the Real plane, but not in the computer plane.
    Yes you can call me Old School, but I do love Analog-Meter-equipped cockpit!!

      @@Huddison I had a brief try at flying the Cessna 172 and quickly found that it's impossible for me to read and decipher most of the tiny little scrolling figures and tiny little buttons without zooming in and losing all my external view through the cabin window. Can't fly without at least a partial visual horizon; and don't want to fly by reading a computer screen on a computer screen. Wish the early analogue version was still available...

      @@paulrobinson7636 Same here! I'm using a laptop with the usual 15.4" HD screen and share the same problem. I guess most dedicated simers will be using big desktop screens so can read the G1000? So I've stuck to planes with steam gauges, but then the problem is navigation without the map display you get with the G1000.. I'm trying to make things as realistic as possible so don't have the popup signs for the airports - I have to navigate to them as a real pilot would have to. The GS 430 and 530 are what I have to work with in the Diamond DA40TDI or the Cessna 172 with steam gauges and they're very difficult to see. Not sure there is a solution except get a bigger screen or find a plane with easier to see controls.

    • @TheRealLaughingGravy
