@@nathsabari97 when they calculated on reddit that it takes around 1.3 million xp to finish the valorant battlepass, that is when I stopped buying them. I always assumed it was linear progression so every tier would be 10,000 xp for 50 tiers. You pretty much have to play 8 hours a day for the whole season to finish it.
I hadn't been this hyped for a Halo game since the first Halo Reach trailer. It's been more than a decade since then. It feels good to finally look forward to a Halo release.

The art style for this game may be the best improvement I've seen so far. It looks like you guys meshed the best parts of Halo 3 and Reach and mixed in enough 4/5 to make it feel new. Love it!
and these new maps are amazing! they feel like halo 3 maps with many details and nice graphics. i'm definetily looking forward for that map with the houses we saw being used for oddball in the e3 trailer

Seeing Joseph Staten about brought a tear to my eye, man. I remember seeing him in the Halo 2 documentary, the halo 3 documentary, and the Reach documentary. He created the game that was my childhood. He sounds the same. He's aged. We all have. What a privilege to have him on board 343.
Based on what I have seen and heard recently, he and the very vocal fans have turned this potential dumpster fire around. I can't speak on behalf of the campaign, but this appears to be 343i's best multiplayer by a wide margin. I don't know if the gameplay will be better than Bungie's, but time will tell. Custom games will be great though.
They just brought him on to convince us this is gonna be a good game but I doubt he has enough control to save this sinking ship. They probably just pay him to speak during trailers to make fanboys cream their pants

I really appreciate all of the sentiments made about not having loot boxes and keeping things similar to MCC’s progression system. It sounds like the teams made a lot of great choices to keep this multiplayer experience out of the deluge so many AAA games sink into these days. Here’s to hoping that things don’t shift post launch and that Halo Infinite can be a gold standard for the rest of the industry.

Battle Passes have always *had* the potential of being a great, player friendly system that still lets developers make money, but it wasn’t until now that we’re REALLY gonna see how good Battle Passes are!
I agree, this sounds really consumer friendly and I'm gassed for it. I play CODM and the grind after I purchased the battle pass is aggressive due to the fear of losing out my money and having to pay more for the next pass. This one actually makes me feel like I can enjoy and play at my speed and convience

From the trailer, it looks like they did keep the classical elements of Halo, while adding onto the combat mechanics. This exceeded most people's expectations.

you know it's good when even the battle pass offerings seem pretty dope: out with FOMO, in with being able to grind old and new battle passes whenever as long as you buy em first, regardless of what season you did so. the fact that they're focusing on delivering the core Halo Multiplayer experience while also expanding on it is gold too. can't wait to see what sorts of bullshit we as a community can get into.
This is the way to do battlepasses. Not that one-time purchase then its gone forever bollocks, and only limited amount of time to grind the battlepass too. I hated that about Apex Legends, especially since the matchmaking system got so bad that I was no longer having fun. Even before that, being forced to do certain challenges to finish the battlepass quicker and actually get your money's worth was literally a chore. I've already quit Apex as of last month and I can't wait to jump into Infinite's multiplayer.
Shame that unlike H5 there isn't a way to earn everything with in-game currency Hate lootboxes all you want but you weren't forced to spend any money to unlock all it had to offer

This overview really addressed every single thing I was concerned about with Infinite, holy cow. When I initially heard "Free to Play" and "Battlepass", my heart sank. I was filled with dread. Watching this and seeing how they're handling Battlepass compared to all other games that have them, this seems absolutely amazing. You'll never lose the opportunity to earn something on the battlepass, you'll always know exactly what you're working towards... that's great! It's like old-school traditional DLC, but instead of instantly unlocking everything you get something new to progress towards... that's amazing! Just a plethora of things to earn, things to keep you engaged...
That was my concern. I hate FOMO and I hate the idea that someone cane just never get iconic sets like Emile's, Mark V and IV or Carter's set because they weren't playing during a certain time period. However, the system they're showing is (so far) the best system for a battlepass that I've ever seen.
F2P had me sweating bullets. now that we know battle passes are extremely generous and don't gut player expression the way req packs in Halo 5 did, i'm delighted this game is free to play.
I just hope they don't switch things up like Activision did with Warzone. It was fairly balanced in the beginning, but then they introduced Cold War weapons into Warzone and made Cold War guns the meta, so you pretty much were forced to buy Cold War in order to not only unlock these meta weapons, but also progress with them to get the unlocks you need. Absolute scumbag move.

Holy shit I love the personal AI idea. Perfect way to help new players along and it makes complete sense in the lore. The way the battlepass works is awesome I hope other games follow suit. It’s always been a problem that you usually can’t get the cosmetics you want from previous passes.
I am split on the battle pass function. Yes, I wish I could have the cosmetics from earlier seasons of games I’ve played, however, I think that it adds a sense of accomplishment and reward. I feel like the season 0 Apex or Warzone cosmetics wouldn’t be remotely as special if they could be earned at any time. I don’t know, I absolutely love the level of openness of choice that Infinite appears it will offer, and that’s just a thought I had while hearing about the battle pass.

I use to love pvp before I was injured in Iraq. I lost the use of my left arm and suffered brain damage. So pvp is extremely difficult for me. I'm glad you guys added bots so I don't feel completely left out. Hopefully progression in pvp is allowed using bots.
no one seems to be talking about the razorback, being able to store weapons for ammo, or power weapons will be a literal game changer, plus, that battlepass system on it's own level. Adding bots is going to make customs alot more intresting.

that is such a big play in the way of changing the game. while we will not distinguish from seasoned players aside from event skins, there will at least be this amazing feature which allows for ALL customization options to be unlocked even if you get the game months after release when Day1-ers have been playing

It always has been about Cortana. Delivered to the Autumn in Reach, teamed up with Chief in Halo: CE, left behind in Halo 2, fought our way back to her in Halo 3, watched her struggle in Halo 4, Halo 5's bad story was still around Cortana, and now Infinite.

Unfortunately it took them a decade of f**king up the armor and art style to listen. This feels like the first real Halo game since 2010. I am almost hyped, but I know better based on their track record (and almost every AAA company).

I absolutely love how the blood FX are looking. Also from a roleplaying perspective, the personnel AI is the coolest thing ever, giving me mad titan fall 1 vibes.
The gamepasses in MCC and now Infinite are how they should be done. They have no expiry date, so you don't feel like you've wasted however much money you paid for them, and they don't heavily affect the experience of other players who may not have the pass. 343's passes are the only passes that I actually enjoy for those reasons.

Yeah, It’s a fair model. AAA Games are very high budget these days. This is a nice compromise that is good for both the consumers and devs.

Battle Passes have always *had* the potential of being a great, player friendly system that still lets developers make money, but it wasn’t until now that we’re REALLY gonna see how good Battle Passes are!
I agree, this sounds really consumer friendly and I'm gassed for it. I play CODM and the grind after I purchased the battle pass is aggressive due to the fear of losing out my money and having to pay more for the next pass. This one actually makes me feel like I can enjoy and play at my speed and convience

This is the way to do battlepasses. Not that one-time purchase then its gone forever bollocks, and only limited amount of time to grind the battlepass too. I hated that about Apex Legends, especially since the matchmaking system got so bad that I was no longer having fun. Even before that, being forced to do certain challenges to finish the battlepass quicker and actually get your money's worth was literally a chore. I've already quit Apex as of last month and I can't wait to jump into Infinite's multiplayer.
Shame that unlike H5 there isn't a way to earn everything with in-game currency

When I heard battlepass I was concerned, and then it went away when they said it doesn’t go away, which means even if I sleep on a pass I can always come back to it if I want to get that stuff, THAT’S AMAZING!

This overview really addressed every single thing I was concerned about with Infinite, holy cow. When I initially heard "Free to Play" and "Battlepass", my heart sank. I was filled with dread. Watching this and seeing how they're handling Battlepass compared to all other games that have them, this seems absolutely amazing. You'll never lose the opportunity to earn something on the battlepass, you'll always know exactly what you're working towards... that's great! It's like old-school traditional DLC, but instead of instantly unlocking everything you get something new to progress towards... that's amazing! Just a plethora of things to earn, things to keep you engaged...
That was my concern. I hate FOMO and I hate the idea that someone cane just never get iconic sets like Emile's, Mark V and IV or Carter's set because they weren't playing during a certain time period. However, the system they're showing is (so far) the best system for a battlepass that I've ever seen.
F2P had me sweating bullets. now that we know battle passes are extremely generous and don't gut player expression the way req packs in Halo 5 did, i'm delighted this game is free to play.
I just hope they don't switch things up like Activision did with Warzone. It was fairly balanced in the beginning, but then they introduced Cold War weapons into Warzone and made Cold War guns the meta, so you pretty much were forced to buy Cold War in order to not only unlock these meta weapons, but also progress with them to get the unlocks you need. Absolute scumbag move.

Holy shit I love the personal AI idea. Perfect way to help new players along and it makes complete sense in the lore.
The way the battlepass works is awesome I hope other games follow suit. It’s always been a problem that you usually can’t get the cosmetics you want from previous passes.
I am split on the battle pass function. Yes, I wish I could have the cosmetics from earlier seasons of games I’ve played, however, I think that it adds a sense of accomplishment and reward. I feel like the season 0 Apex or Warzone cosmetics wouldn’t be remotely as special if they could be earned at any time. I don’t know, I absolutely love the level of openness of choice that Infinite appears it will offer, and that’s just a thought I had while hearing about the battle pass.

that is such a big play in the way of changing the game. while we will not distinguish from seasoned players aside from event skins, there will at least be this amazing feature which allows for ALL customization options to be unlocked even if you get the game months after release when Day1-ers have been playing

It always has been about Cortana. Delivered to the Autumn in Reach, teamed up with Chief in Halo: CE, left behind in Halo 2, fought our way back to her in Halo 3, watched her struggle in Halo 4, Halo 5's bad story was still around Cortana, and now Infinite.

The fact that purchasing previous battlepasses is an option makes me wanna nut. It's so relieving to know that we have the option to get all the cool stuff from previous seasons even if we join even a year after launch.
Yeah worst thing with battlepass is the feeling that you HAVE to play a certain amount in the season to unlock the stuff you want. What if i dont have the time for that? I allways loved the MCC battlepasses

Games are becoming far more interactive now. The pleasures of CE and 2 will die with us Hardcorer’s, but doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy that alone with friends by actually playing those damn titles WHILST enjoying the refreshing and utterly fleshed out modernisation

Dude please i want Halo to be top dog again. I was like 7 when Halo 3 was at its peak so i was never really there for the highest highs, but I’ve been there for the lows. I want to experience this community at its best, the friends dicking around in forge and customs, pulling off stunts in BTB and sweating hardcore in SWAT. Im so excited and i want Halo to be #1 again

Unfortunately it took them a decade of f**king up the armor and art style to listen. This feels like the first real Halo game since 2010. I am almost hyped, but I know better based on their track record (and almost every AAA company).

The gamepasses in MCC and now Infinite are how they should be done. They have no expiry date, so you don't feel like you've wasted however much money you paid for them, and they don't heavily affect the experience of other players who may not have the pass. 343's passes are the only passes that I actually enjoy for those reasons.
