Glass in the back is stupid. Only adds weight and forces the user to cover it to protect the device and their investment. Plastic is the ideal material.
I agree - partially. Glass on the back is a reason for me to not buy a phone - but the best material in my eyes is aluminum. My 2018 200€ Huawei Psmart had an aluminum back. Its extremely durable, lightweight and dissipates heat better than plastic.
@Oldasianguy Im not an engineer designing phones, but I didnt have any issues with with my 2018 PSmart. To be fair though: the top and bottom of the phones back had some small plastic strips - antenas probably behind that. But still much better than glass imo.

Case makes sense, but screen protector doesn't. New glasses are reasonably durable and it's unlikely to get scratched badly until OLED burns in. Also some fingerprint sensor hate screen protectors.
@user-gi1dd2gb6h Then your screen breaks too. Same as with no protector. I have dropped my phones many times and sometimes on pure cement and nothing broke ever in decades. I signed up 36 months with Verizon and got it free ... love it, the nicest phone I've had, shoots all my 4K 60FPS video on it. Plays games very nice. Like the fact you can hook up a USBC flash stick to it to free up room for a 128gb on my keychain since no microSD card since it has that waterproof IP67 rating...like how I can hook it up to the TV HDMI to USBC..8gb RAM is so nice with the same processor as it's big bros... Hell of a deal.
I think they should've priced the 8a at $449, even if they had to keep the screen at 90hz. It's just too similar to the base 8 and since its always on sale its a better value than the 8a. I like my P8 but im definitely missing the matte plastic over the glossy and fragile glass.
I really enjoyed this pixel like it has a purpose and I've been enjoying it, especially for those of us that want to refresh and if you catch it on sale, which I did. I called it for a very great deal and I'm going to use it for trade-in value so you end up catching it for even better still whenever you get a new one

The Video Name doesnt make sense, not everyone are on same level !! Few afford few cannot...just because you get better phone spending few hundred dollars doesnt make sense depending on individual usage !!
I’m a Pixel fan, but listen to what I say here: current Pixels are trash! Google has went backwards since the Pixel 4 lineup and they keep having issues. Motorola offers much more reliable phones at way cheaper prices and their setup is damn near identical to a Pixel with many features those phones have. The only two downsides are lack of long software support and lack of IP ratings on all but the flagship models. The cameras are objectively worse but they’re starting to catch up. The upcoming Motorola Edge 2024(non plus model) will get many of the AI camera features like magic eraser, photo unblur, and others. Motorola phones are like using a Pixel without the notorious problems and with more customization options.
@@thehubcapkid yeah that’s why I said lack of support is one of the couple downsides on a Motorola. But even then, their phones still work after updates stop. With Pixels, you hold your breath with each new update hoping it doesn’t blow the phone up, mission impossible style.
Everything after Pixel 4a was a disappointment for me. The 4a was a true no nonsense and no worries phone. Compact, rugged, minimalist, GOOD fingerprint. Why would you buy an A series today? Seems like Pixel 8 is a far better deal for a little bit more money. The CE print on the bottom of the phone, instead of a removable sticker, is a tasteless cost saving decision. Even more when you pay over €1000.
I have the pixel 7a and it sucks, this 8a looks to be just as crappy. The worst thing with it is the charging speeds and the occasional hanging on the system UI which you would think wouldn't happen since it's Google's own phone.
I'm not sure what you're experiencing but I've been using my 7a for almost a year and haven't had a single issue. I've been averaging 5+ hours of sot before needing a charge and haven't had a single bit of lag or hanging.

Just got an 8a for $250. Now that's a deal.
Where?
bought a 256gb version for 350€ without any trade, just with a help of some store points. I guess it's a fair price
Just have to ignore the progress of Pixel phones for the next 7 years. Imagine how powerful the tensor g10 will be by the time this phone finishes it's support life.
I will always buy the Pixel budget phone. I have since the 3A. I've always gotten a great deal on them. Someone I could afford to buy cash and not fiance a "Flagship" phone. Can't wait for the 9A. 😊
I just got my pixel 8a for about 299 and its an absolute beast.
I wish Google would go back to the Nexus line of phones.
The battery of the 8a is much better compared to the 8, which is very important.
I'll stick with Samsung.
With a trade in I got it for $350 and its been great so far.
The Video Name doesnt make sense, not everyone are on same level !! Few afford few cannot...just because you get better phone spending few hundred dollars doesnt make sense depending on individual usage !!
Unfortunately in India, 8a is too expensive, retailing around 600usd
Google has the pixel 8 for $ 549.00 a $ 150.00 save until 6/22 2024
IMO the pixel 8 should be a heck of a lot better for 700 bucks that’s the problem not the A series!!
Very few misfires,it's been nothing but a cluster since pixel 6
ill just add that 6.1 inch screen is very tiny
It's not. The phone is bigger than the s23, the screen is the same size but the bezels make the phone big
@@Tommy-qe6fh2 tiny phones .. some of the smallest phones on the market today. Maybe u just fancy tiny things
The phablet crowd is off their rockers again. 6.1 inch? Tiny?
@@newfnshow031 That's not tiny lol, I have a jelly star
I like small phones. If I want a big screen I'll look at a TV
ive got my google8a i love it i changed from iphone to google pixel8a
Im never buying a plastic pro no matter how much i love pixel.
I always buy 8a because of the plastic 😊
Needs a fingerprint sensor on the back!
The only issue with Motorola is support. Google's 8 years of support is outstanding. Motorola promises support w/o really saying how long.
@@thehubcapkid yeah that’s why I said lack of support is one of the couple downsides on a Motorola. But even then, their phones still work after updates stop. With Pixels, you hold your breath with each new update hoping it doesn’t blow the phone up, mission impossible style.
Just bought one.
Pixel 8 is still better
Spoiled guy, Bro been living life on easy difficulty 😂
the pro for me personally
This video is pointless.
TY, "worthless opinion," lol.
Even more when you pay over €1000.
since and including 6a, pixels been downhill
I have the pixel 7a and it sucks, this 8a looks to be just as crappy. The worst thing with it is the charging speeds and the occasional hanging on the system UI which you would think wouldn't happen since it's Google's own phone.
I'm not sure what you're experiencing but I've been using my 7a for almost a year and haven't had a single issue. I've been averaging 5+ hours of sot before needing a charge and haven't had a single bit of lag or hanging.
@Oldasianguy it sounds more like your device might be defective
@Oldasianguy ah yeah ambient heat is no good. I'd say try the OnePlus 12r for the most power user friendly budget phone
