Slip in shower tried to grab curtain (arm outstretched came down on edge of small tub) resulted in 4 broken ribs healed 4 months later next, frozen shoulder 18 months, next, opposite frozen shoulder 15th months. WOW -This is a (probably) an amazing insight into my problem. I have had a shoulder issue, with pain around the scapular and an originally weak serratus anterior muscle for over 3 years now. The correlation of the way the pain manifests and the link to the neck is a perfect diagnosis. I had been to 7 physios, chiros etc trying to find the problem, and some MSK specialists through healthcare. I have also had X-Rays. No one has offered me a logical diagnosis and the 3 years of stretching and improving the strength around the rear of the shoulder to pul the scapular back has helped only slightly. I used to powerlift before the onset of this problem. So here is a QUESTION, when I fond out about this possible diagnosis I went to a new specialist (I had stopped paying money for no progress) I was told it's unlikely to be this as nerve problems are always worse at night, and my problem is not. Is this true? The professional then focused on the spine, and a lack of mobility in the thoracic region
thank yo for clearly explaining this issue! Was just diagnosed today with this after two years of seeing back specilists, PT, chiros etc. No one could figure it out until today!!
Wondwr if this id reason for my TOS and compression of subclavian vein. Didnt know why i was feeling this unbearable pain. Ive been having it for 5 months but i think i know why. Im always arched to my left side and kind of sitting on my left leg ot squishing my whole left side of my body everyday. I dont excercise much either. My shoulder, kneck, ankle , foot and scapula have been hurting to bad. I had a knot under my ribs too. But I got a massager and i feel so nuch better.
Thank you so much for such a clear explanation. I've been dealing with this since I was younger, but I barely gave it a notice until recently when I carried something on the affected side and it started to tingle on my shoulder and arms. I was afraid I'd drop what I was holding. Figured out it was caused by my bad sleeping position, where I lie down on my stomach and wake up with a neck pain that lasts for 2-3 days. Again, thank you for giving us some clarity. I hope to watch more videos relating to it from your channel.

Can this nerve cause "throat" pain/burn as well? I have been dealing with snapping scapula since 2016! Well at least dealing with the symptoms. My chiro office has great folks but they haven't been able to help. I get massages, PT , had some accu and now injections. I want to be cured already. It's a horrible feeling. When sleeping on either side or my back, my left shoulder blade develops a numbing pain right at the infraspinatus. I cannot lift a blanket using left arm until I get up and massage that area. Could I have dorsal scapular nerve entrapment? Thanks
Doc. Quick question if I may. My mother in law had has bad pain on left side at bra line level like you're describing for 2 years. It's starts after she gets out of bed for the day. While laying down there is no real pain. After she's on her feet for 5 minutes the pain starts. She's had 10 plus shots and nothing has worked. Can it effect her left arm/hand.
