Hi, my name is Justin Laurie, just came across your channel finding it so far absolutely fantastic. I’m from London originally been living Romania now for two years. My wife is Romanian and we decided to come here to bring up our daughter. I’ve spent the day watching your videos You’re doing a fantastic job very informative and I will be leaving more comments soon
Hello from Bulgaria! We moved here in 2021 to escape prison island (UK) and start growing our own food and living free. We bought our 3 bedroom farmhouse and fields for €10K. We’ve done light renovation costing €5K. It is the best decision we ever made. We moved here with young children. Our village is mostly empty and many farms for sale here for a similar price. Don’t just think about it, DO IT. We have mains electric/water/internet but we do have our own mountain spring for water and log burners, so, off grid living is not too far away for us. We will be standing firm against the nwo on our mountain top 👍🏻
I just found this channel and subscribed, would be nice to see some more content. Im a fellow Englishman also living in Romania. I bought a large house back in 2014 in a mountain village and finally moved here in 2020. The house was a new buiid that the previous owner didn't finish, i have spent a few years fitting it out. Life here is at a slower pace, traditional family values, good food.
Hi, thanks for commenting on the video, I'm really sorry that I did not respond sooner. This is a project I've been working on with a Romanian friend of mine and it's taken a bit of a back seat recently what with one thing and another. We're very happy to answer questions and please be aware there's an awful lot of misinformation and scams going on related to buying property in Romania, the reality is in general it's safe and great value, there are just a few essential tips that I'll happily share. @@gw2031 You would need to look into how to get a residence permit, I had two possibilities. The first was though marriage (I am married to a Romanian), Secondly I moved before the end of the brexit withdrawl agreement and had a right to reside. There are other possibilities, eg. Employment ect
@Howard There are good and bad aspects to every country, overall where I live is much better than where I lived in the UK. I would suggest visiting the Brasov area, it really is better than you could imagine.
Worked in Buzau 2012. Vastly underated country and remarkably friendly and safe .despite crazy driving. Country side is amazing. Language has a lot of Latín like Italian . Not dificult
I am very glad that British people are going to live in eastern Europe and Romania in particular. It helps to better understand the East and West of Europe with each other. And for Romania the presence of Anglo-Saxon culture will not be out of place. Good luck on your journey!
While I agree with all that your saying I have to mention that actually the misunderstanding of Romania is also protecting it for going the same road as the west and at a fast speed. I love Romania, I am romanian myself but I wouldnt want it to become too famous and get distroyed fast. It's hard to balance everything. Anyway great video and please keep up the hunt for houses. I am far from Romania at the moment and I would like to know what are the prices for houses in villages this days as I might be able to get one, hopefully soon. Thanks again!
Hi, feel free to email me on headforthehillsromania@gmail.com for more detailed info. you can still find super cheap houses but there are some tricks to finding the good deals. Everywhere is in under pressure to "westernize", I left my own country and moved here because I found England evermore culturally claustrophobic. Romania has not gone too far in that direction and I believe there's a mass awakening now so we'll see, point taken though. :)
@@randomromania It is important to not bring here people with liberal views. A bit of racism, a bit of prejudice, a bit of homophobia is healthy. Besides, i hate liberals so much its surreal. Its like they are aliens to me, the whole paradigm is different, we have an entire different set of axioms our mentality is based on. I CANNOT STAND THESE PEOPLE.
Romania has extreme corruption and their form of the mafia is embedded into everything .. my family is from there and they own many businesses in Romania and this was a big issue
In some parts of Romania ( including the part im living in right now ) the mayor of the community/city will give you a plot of land for free and an amount of money for you to build your first house. All you have to do is to prove that you actually want to build a house there and not just take the money and leave, and you do that by building 30% to 40% of the house, like the main structure without furniture or windows/door anything like that. And you have a 5 years period to do that, otherwise you'll have to return the money they give you. The money they give you is not huge, but it's a good amount for the start.
Did some " digging " into it. It used to give you some money for that, it doesnt anymore. But it still provides the plot land that you need in order to build a house. You can save up to 10-15k euros just for that plot of land. But you still have a 5 years period to build the foundation and the structure of the house.
i had an ask round about this, nobody seems to know of good deals in areas that are close to your average person's infrastructure requirements but super interested to know of any if you have examples
As an expat living next door in Hungary I would like to say a few things to anyone considering the expat option. NOT to discourage anyone but to make you consider whether this is for you no matter where you choose. Romania, Hungary, Continental Europe or anywhere on the planet. Most expat will return home in less than a year because they could not adapt to their new country. When you move to another country do not expect it to be like it was back at home. If life back home was so great why would you leave? The natives of your new country could care less than most of you chose their country. Some may even resent you if you have an attitude that they owe you anything. Make an effort to learn to local language because at some point there will be no one to translate and the natives will respect your making an effort to try and fit in. Romanian will be much easier than Hungarian to learn. Hungarian is one of the most difficult languages to master and even after 5 years I struggle to go beyond basic speech. The food will be different, the laws are different as are the customs of your new host country. Do not expect customer service as you have known it back home. Most places are slow to respond to emails, text messages and telephone calls if at all here in Eastern Europe even if you speak the language or have someone help translating. If your need is urgent expect to make an in person visit for assistance. Getting utilities connected or installed may take weeks or months depending upon the remoteness of the property. It may only take a couple days if in a village or city. Many will leave because they miss family and friends from back home and get lonely. Eastern Europeans seem to live a much slower pace of life and if you are always in a hurry you are not going to do well here in Eastern Europe.. If you are considering a property make certain it has available mobile phone coverage and also some type of fiber optic internet or similar available if you are expecting to stay in contact with others. You will need a dependable motor vehicle with all wheel drive if you live in the countryside in most places and I would encourage you to purchase a 2nd vehicle as a back up if you live off the beaten path. I know a couple who live this way here in Hungary and they are always having car trouble and having to walk a few miles to a village when their car acts up. Having a reliable car is a must when you come here unless you live in a city with public transportation. I have been an expat for 5 years and at times I did consider packing it up and returning home the first year but I refused to quit and I love my choice to escape from the home country and have no plan to ever leave now. Good Luck to all.
Yes, this is all excellent advice, I agree to pretty much all of it. Thanks Shannon, this is really helpful for people. One thing I would add is that you can transition slowly, find a base where you've made some contacts you can trust and start with a small building and extend as the years pass. You can come and go as you please then, if you can work remotely then this is a very good option. Romania is a great place to de-stress and gain perspective. And yes Hungarian is a language clearly designed to confuse foreigners. :))
Think you could be on to a winner, a lot of people wishing to migrate ,but fear overtakes them, honest information helps a lot,so all in all good video, thanks for sharing.
I moved here 20 years ago from the UK, my friends thought I was nuts, they're not quite thinking like that anymore, I'm so glad I did it, it's not for everyone but if you're financially self sufficient it's kind of a no brainer in light of recent trends. If they're other specific information you'd like please ask here and I'll try and answer in future videos.
Subbed even before watching this. This something I want to work towards. Currently living in what I can only describe as a dark “hutch”. I grew up in a small village, playing in streams and woods so this situation has been making me ill. Need to change my life. 👍🏼
I went through the whole thing when I moved here with a couple of bags and some cash twenty years ago, part of the point of this channel is to "do my bit" and help others do the same, I'm on email - headforthehillsromania@gmail.com if you have questions :)
Greetings from neighboring Hungary. Spent a few months in the U.K. myself in the early 1980s. If you are from there -- just about any place you would move to is a definite imptrovement these days. :-)
I moved in 2001, just wanted to leave, could not really put my finger on why at that time, just depressed and found life very expensive, not just in a financial sense. In hindsight I understand why now.
I was looking at property in Romania a few years ago and could never find out much about properties that were affordable and the few estate agents with websites were not very communicative to say the least so I never made a visit to Romania. It looks like a very pretty place to live. I stumbled on your channel by the luck of google suggestions. I now live in Rural Wetsern Hungary and there are a lot of cheap old properties here and I purchased on back in 2017 with a livable , a house barn and 4200m2 land for about 16,000 GBP . No regrets. I hope one day to visit Romania and see what I missed out on.
So the basic idea is finding a decent property here is a hands on business, you need to personally get out on the road an go scouting or hire someone 100% trustworthy to do this for you, then you need to understand the legal process, it's all doable, I found all the properties I bought by doing just this
@@randomromania Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately that was not possible for me because going on a "wild goose chase" was just not possible due to me being handicapped. I am not lazy but at the time I was searching the internet for information there was not much data I could find. I have limited resources and spending 3 or 4 thousand quid for flights, car rentals would have taken away from what I had available at the time to purchase property with. There was much more information and resources about Hungarian property and ultimately that was the direction I took.
Nice. I am from Maine.. Just about anywhere in the northern hemisphere is very similar in regard to trees vegetation etc. I have lived in Peru for 18 years.. Very different. But no freezing winter. More freedom.. Nice people.. Less violence.. Just sayin'
I was reluctant about Romania but I have discovered it through my RO girlfriend and I love it. Bucharest is a lovely city, good restaurants, good prices and lovely people. Great dentistry! I enjoy the skiing in Poiana Brasov and Sinaia. I expected her to want to move to the UK but it's looking more likely that I will move there.
I left the UK 20 years ago and as a proud English guy I'm sorry to say that no amount of money would ever make me move back, it's not that there are not better places than Romania because there surely are but I managed to make a life here that was much more in line with what I'd envisaged my life was going to be in my 20s
And I am sure UK quality of life declined drastically in these 20 years. Drugs, violence and the lack of the actions of the law to prevent them. Talk about the lack of wilderness as well.
@@dianeyoung2914 oh i go sooo much to tell brits coming here, i am just getting started. I, unlike others, did not and will never forget brexit and why the vote went the way it did. I would deport you in seconds. Go livebon your "great" island. We are cockroaches, remember? REMEMBER?!
Glad to come across your channel, I've been to Romania ten times now as a tourist and love the country Cluj - Napoca and Brasov would be my preferred place if I was going to live there, but Cluj is not a cheap place to live in, neither is Brasov. Shepards spend most of the time living with their flock so they won't be the most sociable of people. Living full time in rural Romania comes with a lot of challenges it is not a fairy tale especially if your in advanced years. Country people are very self reliant and don't depend on the government for hand outs. Look forward to watching your channel.
True, country people are self reliant. But they are also incredibly supportive to each other. You will not have much help from the state but chances are you'll get it from your neighbours.
Fantastic, I lived in Bulgaria which is also a beautiful country, and I will live there again. I can’t wait, the United Kingdom is finished as is Western Europe.
Yes, they're doing that in America, too (caravans as primary homes). There's a resort community in South Carolina where you can park a caravan, build a shelter and even a deck and fence and voila! Instant retirement home. Thank you for your beautiful images of Romania. I'm sold, especially on the cheap real estate with views.
Glad you like the video, we were out last week recording for a new one, I should be posting a new video this week focused on some of the most beautiful scenery in Romania
I have bought in Bulgaria and recently moved there, so I have to drive through RO to get to and from my new home as we get established. It’s a slower road compared to the rest of EU but absolutely beautiful, I just love that part of the trip. I sometimes wish I had considered RO before we bought in BG, it would save a good half day driving each way 😂 ETA those clever people who split the plot, built two dwellings, with small gardens, but retain access between them to the remainder of the plot for future development 👍
@@randomromania Someone I knew moved to Malaysia. Do you have any knowledge of what the conditions are there. Relocating drags with govt. Cost of living??? How does the cost of living in Romania compare?
@@antonhuman8446 Only in the sense that I know people who live there, fellow English like me, it all, like anywhere, depends where you live inside the country. From what I know outside the western world most countries typically favor their own citizens over what they consider outsiders and in some cases rules can be extreme by western standards, that's just what I know, the best information you'll find directly from people living there.
Would love to see what sort of properties are available and how much they are. Also would love to hear from people who have moved there. I’m in Australia and looking to escape this prison island.
Yes, well I've lived here since 2001 and I just wanted to get out of the UK for similar reasons so I can answer a lot of your questions. We're considering starting a live superchat, what do you think?
Romania is a great country, especially for young people imo. When you do not need much healthcare. Pretty decent low taxes for businesses. Cheap properties. If you earn more than 1k euros per year then it is really great standard of living
If I speak Spanish too, will it be easier to learn Romanian? There is talk of Romania and Moldova unifying into a single nation, any thoughts? I am fascinated by Romania. The countryside in your video looks so beautiful. Thank you.
Yes people already fluent to two languages one of which is a Latin language should find it easier. As for Romania and Moldova it's a divisive issue, no plans I know of.
Hi I'm Romanian i don't think there will be a unification in the near future. Romanian government help Moldova to integrate in the EU. In Moldova are many ethnic peoples like Russian Ukrainian Turkish(Gagauzia) also they have problems with Transnistria(autonomy). In every year, polls show around 40 and 60 percent of moldovians are against unification. The both countries speaks Romanian with different accent 😆 Romanian language have 15% slavic percent like a â ă. But in general if you speak Spanish is pretty easy to learn Romanian a lot of similarities. Peace ✌
Lovely video and channel, thank you! I'm originally from Bucharest but moved to Cambridge about 10y ago (I'm also technically an Englishman now, though I still can't abide milk in my tea!). I'm looking to move back soon and I definitely intend to live somewhere with lots of trees and a backdrop of pretty mountains (so no Bucharest for me!). Funnily (in a sad sort of way maybe) enough, I have probably explored more of the UK than Romania at this point, so really looking forward to going around and seeing all the places I missed :) Will be keeping a keen eye on your videos!
Curiously I know Romania way better than the UK, why do you want to come back? What don't you like about England? You know Bishop's Stortford? That was my home town, I used to go out a lot in Cambridge.
There's not that much I don't like about England to be honest. I'm sure there will be plenty of things I will miss. But I really miss the mountains and forests and those are hard to come by around here! Also, since Covid I've been working 100% remotely and the company I work for (and many others) have switched to this on a permanent basis now (I'm a software engineer). It turns out they're happy for me to work from Romania so I figured that's a really good deal for me, I get to live in a lovely house by the mountains and work remotely for a Cambridge salary :) I've never visited Bishop's Stortford, but I have driven past it several times! Not sure how it was when you left, but by now it would basically be considered a suburb of London and the house prices there (and anywhere in the south) are truly insane. You end up paying an arm and a leg for a shitty 2 bed semi that's falling apart and people are like "oh you're so lucky you got on the ladder"!
@@ruskyandrei Yeah, England is a great place to work if you just want a normal job but it's a hostile environment for many small businesses and has some really serious systemic problems that most people don't really seem aware of although that seems finally to be changing. Anyway if you want to get in touch directly I'm on email headforthehillsromania@gmail.com - it might well be worth us having a chat. cheers
This is a very fascinating watch and coming from a Brit who has lived there some considerable time makes it all the more interesting. I'm also from UK and spent many happy years touring around mainly East European countries until unfortunately ill health put an end to it in 2019. I enjoyed Romania immensely, very friendly people and the country is fantastic. I have fond memories of the Carpathians, Transfagarasan pass, and the Danube Gorge near Timisoara. Though I have not so fond memories of driving through Bucharest after missing the ring road.....drivers seemed to make their own road rules up as they go along and took great delight in cutting up a crazy foreigner driving a motorhome with the steering wheel on the "wrong" side!
My relationship with Romania is a bit like my relationship with my girlfriend, neither of us can quite put our finger on why it's worked so well for so long but there it is. I've always had a feeling of freedom here, the UK felt claustrophobic to me an that was in 2000, I imagine it's worse now.
@@randomromania A lot worse since Brexit. Had I been younger I would have sold up and left for good but neither age or health was on my side. I've sold my motorhome and the only "touring" I do now is watching travel vlogs on YT. I have fond memories of the countries I toured and met some amazing and interesting people along the way.
@@randomromania Thank you! I left another message asking if I can contact you next week as we are coming out to understand real estate in Romania. I am Romanian by birth, moved to California at the age of nine with my parents and now looking to possibly come back home full-time or part-time.
I agree 'mostly' with S. Hultz comments. I had always wanted to immigrate from the UK to another in Europe for maybe 25 years, after a lot of research into the country, including government, culture, social living aspects and also living there temporary on and off over those 25 years. I met my partner in the UK and later married (who was originally from the country in question - my partner loved his country, but was adamant that said that he would never return to his home land and had built his career in the UK and also had more a better opportunities. 14 years later we divorced, (no problem) so, I chose to take the opportunity and sell -up, immigrate and buy a property on the mediterranean. After 3 years of living there, I realized how great my homeland really was, for many, many reasons (just has my ex-partner had all those years had before etc) so I put my home on the market, sold and left and never looked back. So, as previously mentioned, I agree with the comment in respect that...sometimes you need to live in another country, to really appreciate your own!. So, do not let this deter you, see it has a failure, or worry about what other people say (it's your world and you may go or settle anywhere you like. (and if you don't like it ...say it and just move on. This was only my personal view/realization - relizing that I had everything I needed in my own country!.
I'm extremely proud of England and her vast contribution to the world over the centuries, unfortunately the British government disagree with me on the nature and scope of said contribution. I think I'm like the English that left for the new world, I'd rather some real freedom whose associated risk rests on my shoulders and vastly less tax of course
@@michaelparker2225 We're limited as to what we can use, I'd like to use classical music, getting a copyright strike on YT is a big deal. I'll look into in more depth. Point taken. :)
I'd never even considered Romania as an option because I thought that the language barrier would be too great. It looks like such a beautiful place though, and it sounds so free and wholesome compared to the post-truth, post-moral, degenerate corpoate dictatorship that modern Britain has become.
Romanian is a Latin based language so not a huge barrier plus there are many English speakers. Put it this way, my Romanian is basic and I've thrived here, it's suited to independent self funded people. Great base if you work online for example.
yes i'm sorry about that, the british papers tend to do such things to distract from domestic issues, if you're interested in collaborating in some way i'm looking for partners
I've met quite a few Romanian young people here in the UK. I have a Romanian tenant - a youngish guy who married a English girl and they have a family. He is a barber and rents the shop downstairs off me - he is the best tenant i have ever had and they are a delightful hard working couple. I've met quite a few other young Romanians over the years and they have all been nice pleasant people. Romanias were poor people and still are compared to richer countries, so who can blame them for having a will to survive - they had to. There are so negative things such as the trafficing and abuse of girls for the sex industry. They are just the same as other human beings.
8:00 yeah see that’s amazing. In Australia you don’t have many rights to do what you want in your own land. It’s stupid. Can’t even really build a tiny home. We have so much land, yet it’s all unaffordable and so restrictive
I have various Australia related contacts if you're serious about moving here. You can find me on headforthehillsromania@gmail.com if you need more detailed info. cheers. ed
@@randomromania only just started looking yesterday haha. I’d definitely have the money to buy some cheaper property cash, but I only work at a supermarket so I don’t have any skills to offer. So you are trying to set up a community there? Do you have a website with information? If I move to Europe in the next few years I’ll keep an eye on property in Romania, looks incredible and unbelievably affordable
Very interesting, no idea why the dirt roads are only 4 foot wide (yes, I happen to live in the southwest of the USA and yes, I live in the boonies and yes, we do have dirt roads all over but they are about 3 to 4 times wider which is needed since most folks use trailers to get their supplies such as building material, equipment, cars and so on. Well, one thing is for sure, the food in Romania must be much better than the tasteless stuff in England, take care and try to stay out of trouble
Please don't get me wrong and yes, it looks nice the only thing that surprised me is that it all looks pretty tight, the roads where they parking their cars instead on their property and so on which I am not used to after living here for the last 40+ years and yes, I've seen narrow streets in Germany, Spain, Italy and other areas too.
@@johnlong384 Much of the UK and Europe is the same, I guess a lot of the population and urbanization in the USA grew up around cars, that could be a reason.
Can you say or do a video about just land prices with a ruin, in other parts of Europe they come with planning!?! Like the caravan site early in this video?!? Like what you're sharing a big thumbs up from me ;)
Greetings! I just managed to stumble onto this video trying to find information on moving to Romania. I'd be curious as to what properties might cost that include farmland, and whether it is true that EU (non-Romanians) are limited to only 2 hecatres of land. Further, I've been told that you'd need to go through a property lawyer in Romania when purchasing any property, since "bills of sales" might be faked for foreign visitors when buying directly from the owner of certain properties? Perhaps these are too many questions, so I would have no problem emailing you or messaging you for more information. In any case, a very informative video, this!

I would suggest a Westerner to rent first for minimum a year in the place he/she intend to eventually settle or buy property. Is important to see how is the life, the local community, the weather. It may look idyllic...but the winter last some 6 months (it is continental winter with heavy snow and - 20 C...not the mild British winter). The local community is also equally important...too many rural communities are affected by a high rate of alcoholism. I may say also that the "Golden" age of really cheap properties is gone At this prices you can find something in rural Spain, Portugal, Greece, Ireland or even rural France. A major advantage in Romania, property tax is still 10 times lower.

@@randomromania Not attack mate...just insider realism. I can say the same about the British which I meet in NZ...describing UK as a place impossible to live due to harsh weather, pollution, unmannered youth etc...although I know UK as a green garden at least compared with other places where modernization means replacing green grass with grey concrete.
I just stumbled onto this. Interesting channel. My parents were born and raised in small rural villages in the Transylvania region of Romania. My parents are ethnic Germans (Transylvania Saxons). There are more than a hundred communities (mostly small villages) that the Saxons founded and lived in for over 800 years. Most of the Saxons migrated from Romania over the years (with the bulk of them leaving after the fall of Ceausescu). Their villages and homes remain though. In most cases, Romanians, Roma and others took over the homes but every village will inevitably have homes that are still empty and unoccupied. What are your thoughts on opportunities for acquiring these sorts of homes and restoring them? For a geographic reference, my parents came from villages in the area around Rupea and Apold(Mures County).
I know the area quite well, I'm very interested in such ideas, are you interested in trying to collaborate in some way? I'm happy go up there and make a video on the topic and see what feedback we get, what do you think?
@@randomromania Thank you for the reply. My opportunity for collaboration is limited. I live in the United States and am “settled” here. If you are still interested in the concept, my father’s village was Fișer (Schweischer; Sövénység)[Romania, German and Hungarian village names]. My mother was from Daia (Denndorf; Dálya or Szászdálya). There are of course numerous other Transylvanian Saxon villages. I forgot to mention it earlier but one of your countrymen (Prince Charles) purchased and restored an old Transylvania Saxon residence in Viscri (Deutschweißkirch) which is only a few kilometers from Fiser.
Apold (Trappold) is one of the most beautiful villages, I really like it. The church fortress has been recently renovated in a very sophisticated way. But so far, it has not been kissed by tourism, although thousands and thousands of tourists come every month to nearby Sighisoara (Schäßburg). Nobody in the village of Apold knows how to do tourism. The village is waiting for a foreigner, or some returning Saxon with some money to invest, to start something.
What an incredible beautiful country. I would like to buy an old farmhouse near a river with a forest and some grazing land, preferably remote. Many thanks for your video. God bless.
$65,000 is a lot for something like that.. you could go to rural Vermont New Hampshire or Maine, and buy a property with a small home on it for $40,000
Stayed in Bucharest, curtea de arges, brasov. People are very welcoming and friendly in general, cities are expensive, countryside much cheaper for everything. Defo go if you havent been, amazing scenery in transfagaras transylvania. Old school horse and cart in many areas.
If you mentioned it and I missed it, I do apologize. What area of Romania is this? I'm an American moving to Romania very soon. I will be relocating to the Cluj-Napolca area. My wife and I have been looking for a few years at buying some property in Eastern Europe area.
I'm south of the Carpathians, if you come south from Cluj I'm just the other side of the mountains, why did you choose Cluj? It's very beautiful up these as is most of Romanaia
Lol, the movie Deliverance was filmed in the area my family is from. I have rafted and kayaked that river many times. Romania 🇷🇴 looks like a beautiful place. I just subscribed 👍
Been several times in Romania. Paddling from Holland to rep of Moldova. And walked one time 4500+ km in Ukraine Moldova and Romania. And many others adventures in those areas. Buying land is often not the problem but adjusting is another challenge...after living several years in the Philippines I saw the same happening. Selling expensive property is a headache when you want to leave again etc .. just rent at least a year, get customized and if ever you want to buy ..see as much as you can. Then you know more and more what will suit your needs.
I personally think it's smart right now not to sink a large proportion of your reserves into one expensive property, I suspect sovereignty as a service is the future, depends on your personal goals related to the time you have, Romania is a pretty good place to raise kids for example.
You will be snowed in! So you better know how to preserve food and be on good terms with your neighbours, because you will need all the help you can get, Romainians are a very helpful people when they get to know you.

Yes. You have a very interesting deal for people to come and buy property real cheap. I wonder if you have some property in the middle of Mongolian desert, or in the middle of Sahara, or deep down in Amazon or some tiny islands in the middle of the ocean a few hundred miles away from any human habitat? Could you cover the northern area of Romania? Somewhere within a reasonable distance to the Slovak and Ukraine border and going from the city outwards with cost estimates?
Hi, I'm glad you commented again, there was a comment you posted earlier and i can't find it to reply to it for some reason, it's really odd. this is the start of the comment - "Gary Jene commented: "First, what is the public transit like to get back and forth from a smaller community (less than 2000) to a larger one that will have more amenities that the small one lacks. Reason I ask, as temp..." - i'd really appreciate it if you could re -post that one. As for going right up north, eventually we want to cover the whole country but I have kids and a girlfriend so don't like to venture too far from them, in the process of working things out to make that possible so watch this space. I have contacts up north and have spent a fair bit of time in the north east so will try and answer your questions.
@@randomromania I can not remember which video where I left the comment. I wanted to know what happens if someone that doesn't have a drivers licence and wants to get from a small community of less than 2000 to a larger one with more than 15,000. Is there some kind of public transit connecting these locations? Sometimes, some people would rather live in a smaller community over a larger city.I will try and remember which video it was. Otherwise do not worry, it will show up when the time is ready. As for the northern area of the country, working around Satu Mare or Baia Mare. When it comes to public transit, how would someone get from Botiz to Satu Mare?

Which town/city are you near, rough location? Just curious. Did you see the solar power video we made?

The money they give you is not huge, but it's a good amount for the start.
interesting, how much do they give you?

A mention about that comment regarding the internet. You've said 1 Mb, but the Romanian guy actually said 1 Gb (1024Mb).
yes, i realized afterwards. but thanks for pointing it out.
God bless you brother, for spreading the facts of real life..despite all the dirt & filth from the British papers.
yes i'm sorry about that, the british papers tend to do such things to distract from domestic issues, if you're interested in collaborating in some way i'm looking for partners
I visited Romania in 2017. Lovely people, great food. I enjoyed the Hungarian section and visiting the Primordial Forrest.

@@randomromania only just started looking yesterday haha. I’d definitely have the money to buy some cheaper property cash, but I only work at a supermarket so I don’t have any skills to offer. So you are trying to set up a community there? Do you have a website with information?

I'm always amazed how Romanians find all these ways to attack their own beautiful country :)
Romanian is a great place to live if you want to be self sufficient, in the UK the government is trying to replace the family, ironic really :)
6 months winter?! Where is that coming from? We barely have snow in most of the country in winter and only 2 months are colder than UK

@@chijohnaok OK, fair enough, we'll definitely get up there at some point so watch this space, also.... don't start me on prince Charles :))
Thank s mate .
Certainly verdant; lots of trees and green pasture!
yes it's really beautiful in the summer
