In the winter Fur Rondy with its various events including fireworks. Last, but not least, the Alaska Native Heritage Center is definitely worth a visit to learn about the original people of the land & their resourceful culture.

Sooooo I was disappointed that you didn’t tell us where to get some Akutaq. I turned the video up loud just to hear it and save it in Maps. For real. Meanwhile, I learned that I’m an “active traveler” - which is a beautiful title to assign to my friends/family saying, “you like to do all that ‘crazy’ stuff” 😊

You can also catch king salmon in downtown anchorage from 2nd week of May to 2nd week of July. And silver salmon from July to end of September
