Scotland,West Lothian,Livingston. Old photos to new. The centre ----------- 0.00 Howden House------ 1.40 craigshill --------------- 1.58 Music..... Hey Now By MK2 • Hey Now - MK2 (Remix)
Thx for this video. I lived in Craigshill for 18 years from 1967. Went to Almondbank and Craigshill High (both now gone). After 4 years of uni moved to London. I feel so sad that those days are long gone now as well as many of the people. I'm choking up here with many memories of the town in the 70s and 80s. It was a nice place to grow up and had a community spirit and a real civic pride. I miss it so much. Thanks Livi.
Almondvale Centre has changed quite alot over the years. I remember alot of the old layout and stores such as John Menzies going right through the middle and CAC Cinema being where the bingo is now.
Is that Afzal's at 2:47? Think that was his name back in the 70s when I lived there, you could buy your morning rolls from a tray outside the shop and leave your money. I remember trying to get 2P's out the phone box with a lolly stick on the corner outside the shop. It would be just behind the tree in the after pic. The trek up Maree Walk to Riverside Primary, halcyon days. Been over 40 years since I left.
Glad i found this .... we were in Livingston for 2 years ..my dad was the engineer at Patterson's short bread , i remember also going to Riverside for a while then moving to Toronto primary school.. we stayed in Gorse bank road then we moved to Cape town .. fond memories .. often wonder about my friends i had back then ... funny thing was the under pass's for cars/ people .. we moved to Cape town and my brother was knocked down on our second day as lol... we didnt know how to cross roads because of the new towns underpass's ...
@@joebhoy1029 Which one Joe ..the riverside or toronto one.. we left there in 73 for cape town ... i remember we used to also go to a park with a massive jungle gym made out of rope and there was these fiber glass pipes we all played in ...good old days .. i am trying to track down any of my old school mates.. grant hooper.. david bishop connie gebb ... wonder what happened to them in life
Nice video, where did you find all of these pics. I go down the centre all the time so it’ll be interesting to see what it was like decades ago !!! 😁😁😁
they absolutely fucked it, corporate greed destroyed livi, everywhere is an eyesore now.... even the boulevard with the red lamp posts that looked amazing is fubar... they should have kept the japanese waterfall sculpture.... now its a set of stairs... pffff
Funny how Livi has changed no mention of the family’s here to the ones who have died or been taken from us to soon born and raised in West Lothian and I wouldn’t change it for the world now a father myself to a gourgos doughter who I wouldn’t bring up anywear else bar West Lothian
