I dont get why the battery has to be separate and so big. My Interphone intercom is smaller than this and has the battery built in. Its also got a life of about 12 hrs which is similar to this.
My guess it's their bluetooth system. If they're trying to have a strong signal between other riders at longer distances, that simply requires more power consumption.
@@jth_printed_designs Blue tooth range has improved a lot, though. But, with cheaper and smaller WiFi chips, Bluetooth is becoming less desirable in some applications, especially since you have to pay for it to implement it in a device. I'm developing a very short range wireless device (3-6 feet), and I'm going Wifi. And data transmission rates are way up there to support video. I'm an ME, not an EE, with 30 years of product development. Decided I'm going to try to fill the EE role in my own two project,s since they're relatively simple products. Pretty cool stuff.
anyone know of a blutooth setup that i can use without a helmet? I am riding ebikes so I usaually dont wear one. looking for one that can do at least 2 people and doesnt need that far of range, since it is ebikes. Thanks

They could at least make the battery pack the same shape as the main unit... just horrible.
Dumb question - does it play music??
I think it looks cool.
Do you need to use that dorky antenna?
Only if you want the maximum distance with the comms.
Horrible design. Why could they not make it the same system as GT Air 2 intercom? Fully built in. Instead Sena and Shoei rolls out this monstrosity.

Sena makes bike helmet things too
Sena and Cardo both make options that you don't need a helmet for. Check out their respective sites for options.
@@patrickmchugh8039 thanks for the info! I’ll check it out .
@@SqueakyNeb yea I saw those . Was just looking for a non helmet option . But thank you!
There's an over ear unit. Several no helmet needed options are available.
took long enough
Too expensive
An antennae and a big ass battery pack, is it 1983 again? No thanks. I'll stick with my pack talk edge.
