RAW DIET-Dogo Argentino eats her first raw meal @ 9 weeks

  • Azalea Milcayac eats her first raw meal of ground chicken with bone.
    *Please note-we do not advocate feeding ground/pre-made diets, and instead prefer a more species appropriate diet of raw meaty bones and large cuts of meat. This was only fed to ease the transition from kibble. She will be munching beef hearts in no time!

    Well thank you for stopping by with your opinion. It's a *SHE by the way, and if you owned this breed or knew anything about it you would understand one of the reasons their ears are cropped is actually to PREVENT the chronic ear infections/issues that dogos with uncropped ears tend to suffer from. Secondly, they are a hunting breed and their cropped ears are to protect them from their prey from easily ripping them.

    Love it!! i'm picking up my boy in 8 days, ears done.
    people so happy to have a dogs nuts off or ovaries taken out but not happy that cropping the ear can be a life saver for this breed. The uneducated should stop talking and find out first..... She is stunning!

      I tell people that all the time. Imagine you had a choice of your nuts or eat what will you choose. I make this a point to anyone who has an issue with cropping. We will stop cropping ears when you stop chopping nuts

    I don't make a lot of money but I also don't eat a lot, I usually just cook some meat vegetables grilled. Its cheap and very healthy.
    I'm getting a Doggo Argentina I'm actually getting $400 government food stamps so I can feed my doggo 80% raw and 20% kibble, just so he doesn't get picky when we're out and about and I can't get raw for him, camping or traveling times.
    I feed my pit a mixture of raw and cooked food and he was very healthy too.

    Also-how exactly is this humiliating for my dog?? If feeding her a species appropriate healthy diet is not letting her "just be a dog" then by all means please go back to feeding your pet its dry, manufactured unnatural chemical spaceman food. That's definitely more natural for a dog.

    I thought most articles would suggest giving raw chicken breast without the bone for a day and see the stool the next day. if it's not too runny not too hard then you can start fiving wings and stay with chicken for a week and then give meat variety :P
    Any thoughts on this?

    • @somewhataddictive
      @somewhataddictive  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tjandralala I have always found bone to be very important when starting a dog on a raw diet. Runny stool is almost guaranteed without the bone content to help with the transition. My dogs both started with bone in chicken for about a week, and more proteins added slowly there after. That being said, every dog is different and no single raw method works for all dogs!

    Te digo algo porque soy especializada!!cada parte del cuerpo animal o humano tiene su funcion importante para el cuerpo!!!Si eliminas una función ese cuerpo se volverá más sensible y mas expuesto a las enfermedades!!en tu caso,
    los gérmenes infecciosos penetrarán rápidamente en el oído del pobre perrito,El pabellón está diseñado para proteger y expresar las intenciones del perro en su comportamiento!!!Ahora es practicamente mutilado y sensibilizado a tu voluntad!!!El corte de la cola es igual de grave,la cola es el final de la columna vertebral,es parte del sistema locomotor,imagina que te quiten el área de coccigian,es muy doloroso,bueno ellos también lo sienten pero no pueden hablar,Y por esta razón tendrán dificultades para caminar,La cola también significa la forma de expresar sus sentimientos y forma de interactuar con otros animales!!NO A MUTILACION!!

    do you cook the rice peas and carrots or is everything raw. how long do you cook the meat for , is it because hes so young and the immunities havent developed just yet that it must partially cooked. how much has it cost you to do raw feeding as opposed to say kibbel/wet food

    • @somewhataddictive
      @somewhataddictive  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Daniel Koz Never cooked, always raw. Immunities needed for raw meat is a fallacy, their digestive track is designed for this type of diet right from birth. Rice is a starch/carb and should never be fed. Veggies are optional but in my opinion not necessary, so I don't feed them at all. Just a healthy balanced diet of species appropriate raw meat :) Check out the links in the video bio to research more on this diet

      +TeraMichelle Boyland It helps them stand up after cropping. The muscles in the ears will strengthen in this position. It's called "taping the ears". People do it with dogs like German Shepherds all the time to make them stand.

    • @somewhataddictive
      @somewhataddictive  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Weirdanimalboy Dogos ears don't actually need traditional taping. The foam is to keep them in place directly after surgery until the stitches are removed a week later, then it naturally separates from the head and falls off :)

    The owner is a terrible human being. She would have us believe that cropping the ear serves a medical purpose but this is not supported by science. Other reasons are to protect the dog when hunting. So do you use your dog for hunting? The reality is you have done it for cosmetic purposes. J-mack 5000 raw meat can be better for dogs because it helps them grow normal with there weight body size and bones. some dog foods has products that make ur dog grow to fast and there bones can't keep up with the fast growth which can lead to arthritis at a younger and older age. and because raw food diet is more natural for them :)

    Do you know that raw meat is bad for dogs??

    • @cristinasburlea3064
      @cristinasburlea3064 9 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Actually it is not bad. it is what their stomachs are best suited for... kibble to them is like junk food to us, it is filled with additives and flavor enhancers and even some vegetables which their stomachs can't digest and they just end up pooping them or they can cause long term damage. Dogs on dry food have higher rates of cancer than those on raw food. Dogs also have immunity to most bacteria existing on raw food so unless you feed your dog rotten raw food, you have nothing to worry.

      Hi. Well I have a butcher shop a few streets away from me and I talked to one of the people working there and he does it for me, of course I pay for it. Or, if I'm not feeling lazy I will buy it whole and cut it into large or small pieces. My animals seem to enjoy chewing on their food. They don't need everything cut in tiny pieces or turned into a paste. Just beware cause it gets a bit dirty if pieces are larger :)). My cat especially likes to drag things out of her bowl, dog however eats like a lady :)).
      Also, I travel a lot so I asked butchers in a bunch of places to do it and nobody said no, so I think people are pretty open to the idea (at least in Europe and New York they are). Also, just as a side note, in the UK there are even organic food shops for pets and they have all kinds of meet there for our furry friends. How cool is that?! So the safest bet is to go to a nearby butcher shop and ask or just cut it yourself in not so small pieces. (Oh and maybe freeze some pieces or meat paste during the summer and you get ice cream time)

      ***** It's awesome that you are taking the time to learn about this. You are an awesome pet owner! Babying them is kinda in our nature :))
      Give it a few months and you will see changes not only in how the dog smells but also the texture of the fur and even the behavior tends to change when they get proper food (just don't overfeed them, 1kilogram of raw meet has a lot more nutrients that they metabolize than 1 kilogram of dry food). Now, whenever I give them dry or wet food (sometimes the circumstances are so that I can only give them dry or raw food), they get hungry a lot faster (I feed mine at 8 am and then at 8pm) and they don't sleep as well as they should.
      Oh and don't get scared if you see your animal poop less or if the poop changes color and smell (it should). They poop less because they metabolize raw meet more than dry or wet food. In fact most of what they poop when they eat dry/wet food is what their organisms cannot digest. Dogs poop more often, but my cat now only poops every 3-4 days. And yes it is perfectly normal, I take them to the vet often cause they both were adopted with medical issues and pooping less often on raw food is normal :D (Yeey for less poop!)
      Good luck with this!

    Its cruel that you have that shit glued to your dogs ears ... Their ears flop for a reason to keep out bugs and bacteria. Not to mention your dog is most likely humiliated and watching him eat does not help. How about you post a video of him taking a piss? (sarcasm) please for your dogs sake just let him be a dog. This is no way yo treat an animal.

      Akita589 it’s to prevent infection in this type of breed and it’s a hunting dog so would you like to get your ears cropped or physically and very painfully RIPED from your head? It’s much safer and it’s not like they are setting this dog up for underground dog fights.

      Akita 589 you re just ignorant ! Cropping ears prevents the ear infections,and are too small to be holded by ,in case of a unwanted fight. Tell us cause you know everything the name of a wild animal with floppy ears !cropping is not cruel cause is done by anesthetic !
