This may or may not be an exploit: when you find a city with a good price for your goods, don't sell to the city. Wait for the next caravan and sell to them. You'll get the same price but the price doesn't drop as you sell more, like in a village, but they have 10-20k to work with.
This saves a ton of time as well as money.

Don't forget to buy out every single item of that good in the city before you go out to meet the caravan. This will raise the price just a little for your sell off to the caravan. As long as the city doesn't have much supply, it will end up a net gain.

    • @Hamster2k
      @Hamster2k 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Also if they don't have enough money to buy all your goods you can just sell them whatever they can afford, then drop out of the dialog and talk to them again right away, which refreshes their cash.

Just drag over the stack, instead of click, and it will "lock in" the price for the entire stack. No need to do this trick. You can sell entire Stacks for the prize of the first item, if you just drag the Stack over.

If you are here just for fast cash: join a kingdom with several wars, start raiding enemy caravans. After an hour you can buy the best equipment.
    Problem solved ;p
Take a lot of horses to be fast while hunting them and avoiding real armies. You can loot the horses from them :)
Also: sell your stuff to villages, not towns. Their prices do not decrease and are often higher (though each has only 1000 gold).

  • @Fullbordad

You can make so much money by trading the first 1-3 hours of your time when starting a campaign. After around five hours I had 300k~ ducats, my clan was tier 4 and I had full workshops and four Caravans set up. I have no castle or town, never been in a war, and have a fully upgraded group of 90 units by just smacking bandits. Around 4k daily income.
Goes without saying but I'll say it anyways: Sell stuff where you get a good profit. Like at least 150% of the price payed.
    1. Buy Desert Horses, Mules and Aserai(?) war horses in Askar and the
surrounding villages. Also buy Dates and beers from the desert.
    2. Run to the northern empire(red dudes) and buy cheap Olives and Hogs.
    3. Run to the mountain people(green dudes) and buy furs, clay and hardwood.
    4. Run back to the desert trough the purple dudes and sell in their towns. Rince repeat.
    40-60k
per run, takes around 20-30 mins depending on bandits etc. A bit longer
if you actually fight the bandits. Got to 200 trading in around six
    hours.
The max price I buy stuff for, this obviously fluctuates though:
    Aserai (War horse) < 500
    Desert Horse < 100
    Mule < 75
    Date < 30
    Beer < 30
    Olive < 15
    Fur < 80
    Clay < 12
    Hardwood < 14
    Iron ore < 35
    Pottery < 50
    Cheese < 30
    Wool < 25
    Cotton < 35
    Wine < 35
    Oil < 35
    Hogs < 35
    Sheep < 70
Potteries in Marunath, Quyaz and Hubyar have made me the most money so far, been trying out a lot of them. Around 350-500/day.
Doesn't really seem to matter where you put your caravans unless I've missed
something. Profits on those varies from 300-1000/day for me.
Probably being a dick here buy I made a video explaining this on my channel. But trading is by far the best way to make LOADS of cash.

      What's the next best workshop?

    • @Fullbordad
      @Fullbordad 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@dledman I'm actually trying workshops right now. A tannery in Sanala seems like a good option. Could get it to 400-450. Issue being that you sometimes have to refill hides there. Not often, but it's not self sustaining. Brewery in Marunath is fluctuating between 200-300 so that's also a decent option. Haven't really found any other one that goes above 200 (yet).
edit: Caravans are sadly getting really rekt right now and I haven't found a "safe" spot to set them up (yet).

Another tip. I walked around in a city, spoke to all the random townsfolk, at some point, someone told me that this guy was making a lot of making from his workshop. So I just bought that workshop and I made a lot of Denars from that. Was pretty cool and easy.
Also, my Workshops are making a huge killing now. Smithy at Makeb - 1030 Denars, Smithy at Marunath - 1300. After the Patch, the AI sells more armor and stuff, looks like the Smithies benefit from this.
Also, remember, someone in Reddit pointed out that you can actually gear your Caravan with your own troops, your companion will be in the Keep waiting as soon as you created the Caravan. So then you talk to your companion, transfer all your Horse units and take out all the foot solders. So now you have 30 Cavalry units in the Cavaran which will run at 7.2+ speed. Also as soon as he runs out of the City, talk to it immediately and then give it like extra Mules and carry horses, also I bought about 400 olives and then trade it to my Caravan. They made 2k a day from the next day.
My Caravan has been running around for about 100+ ingame days and it has not been attacked once.

    • @Tokashiza
      @Tokashiza 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Just an extra thing. I have added 80 more Mules to my Caravan and it is generating 5k Denars, not sure if it is because of the economy or it now can carry more items to sell. It is making a killing here

You can play with no soldiers and do practice fights in the arena to get gold and level up your combat skills. This is a good way to level up early on so that you don't get beaten down eay in the tournament. Any abilities you gain or armor you buy carriers over to the tournament, but weapons don't. You don't make much money this way but it's enough to get started, and as a bonus, resting levels up your medical skill.

Going to the practice arena is good too for wining some money and getting levels , specially if you want to be a crossbow man you need to in the current status of the game in Vlandia

So wouldn't be low Hardwood prices be an advantage?

    • @AtomiskZabaleta
      @AtomiskZabaleta 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

It is. The hard wood in the city next to lyracon sells at 15~20 and the shop after it spools up pays nearly 200 gold a turn. if you pump more wood into lyracon and drop the price to 11, the workshop can turn a profit of over 350 gold per turn(very wide fluxuations), well supporting a young army and then some off a single shop. Add another shop or two in other cities where the product to produce is very cheap, and you will be making more money than you know what to do with very shortly.
HOWEVER; If you create a workshop in a city where there is no direct production, the price of those goods will go up very high. Meaning that you can make money just transporting goods to your workshop, ontop of making money with the shop itself.

So I think you missed one that I don't see alot of people talking about. That's creating your own part(ies). I noticed you had a party you created. When the party becomes big enough it will start generated excess gold as they go around the map and attack looters, bandits, help warring armies etc. You have to at least start your army off with good troops and occassionally you will have to go find your companion if they are captured. I get around +1000 per turn excess AND the create army collects renown for you. I'm almost 3000 renown and 2/3 have been farmed by my parties which I have 3 now. I'd use a companion in a party first before caravan. And later you can create armies and call your party armies for free (no influence cost). You can also steal troops from them after they've leveled them up alot. You can really make a video just about this topic to me since it's adds so many benefits (money, renown, free troops, free armies to help when needed).

All the parties I’ve made have run off and died immediately to bandits or enemy lords, then I am the one that has to travel the map to get them back which just isn’t worth the time. Instead I’ve sent all of my companions to make trade caravans and make several thousand from them. Workshops are great early-midish game to counter the troop wages

@@tinylegofiend8605 Lol if they are getting killed by bandits then surely their party is too small right? Get them big enough that bandits wont even try to attack them. important to note for those in early game:
The more money your workshop makes the more it's capital is worth. You can sell it if you think the town is going to war soon and move on to a safer town.
Workshops typically have about a 3-4 day waiting period before you make money off them, caravans it takes about 2 weeks before it makes as much as a workshop. (The caravan will make more the next week though)
There's 3 main things you want with a passive caravan:
Equip the companion with a mount before you send it off on the caravan, it helps even if only a little.
Have about 3500-4K saved to pay the initial fees before it starts having a surplus if its your first passive income.
The two family names "The Swift" or "Spicetrader" are the best ones for caravans, as they come with baseline trading levels.
Late game you'll have the ability to split your companions to do raiding parties which can tons of money to pay for anything, don't invest heavy into currency skills.

Interesting, I generally mostly trade in grain, fish, clay, hardwood, flax, etc. I find it too much of a hassle to trade in the low volume stuff, although it will obviously be very good if you lack capacity in the early game.
Buying up 1000 grain for less than 10 each and then selling it for 20+ is easy 10k. In the end though it's just way easier to go defeating a few lords.

Fight bandits/trade and sell gear. Keep some upgrades low and upgrade your archers first.
Sell loot, trade for higher prices when you can. Tougher bandits will net you better loot sales.
Once you get 20,000, GET THAT FOLLOWER go to a town deep in some territory and build a caravan.
While caravan is working for the week before profits, kill all looters and bandits.
When the caravan starts making profit, kill more bandits until youre back to 20,000.
Get another caravan. Max out caravans and workshops QUICK.
    Easy money.
Currently got 4-5 Caravans brining in 300-1800 a day each, 4 workshops bringing in 200-400 a day each, sitting on 1.5 million and 3k-7k PER day in passive income.

Very important is that if you dont have a faction and set up a shop, or later you join a faction other than where your shop is in and they go to war with each other, you lose that shop... For instance if your faction vlandia is at peace at a certain point, and you set up a workshop in a city of sturgia, they go to war, which sturgia is quite good in, you lose that shop.

    • @gullev3321
      @gullev3321 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I did not loose my shop even though we went to war, BUT when the town changed faction I lost it. But my other 2 shops, stayed even when they changed faction.. or maybe they just joined the faction so nothing really changed ownership, I did not notice. So I dont know if there is a chance, instead of an always.
But a tip is to have the money ready for when you start going to war, so you can get your own shop in your own cities.

A quick and easy $1500 - $2500 you can get is by doing the village mission for defeating the deserters extorting the village.
The reward is $900. But you get better equipment drops than looters since these are deserters and if you use blunt weapons you can guarantee prisoners. These prisoners ransom a lot higher than looters too. The quest only takes a couple game hours to complete, which is insignificant.
One thing to be careful about is that they are much stronger than looters. But I find that as long as you outnumber them, they will retreat from the battle very quickly. Even if your troops are crap, they give up almost immediately. Just run them down with blunt weapons and you win. I think they might start the battle with 1 morale or something, maybe bugged?

Hi I really enjoy your videos, but atm I'm playing beta 1.4.3 and workshops (really all of them, I tried them all in different cities) make between 5 and 50 a day max. And yes it doesn't go up after time, it goes down. What I found most effective atm is just running tournaments, the deserter extortion and the train troops quest for the first few hours. The tournaments are all around good, the deserter extortion quest gives you a good amount and quality of prisoners which you can recruit and/or sell. And the train troops quest is absolutely broken as you get 2400 for training the 5 (later 8 and more) recruits. The kicker for the quest is that I never failed it as you still get the 2400 even if only 3 of them survive. And with the recruited prisoners from the noble line you get a really hard hitting army cheap and very quickly. After becoming a rank 1 clan you can raid caravans and with clan rank 2 your army limit should be high enough to kill enemy vassels. Like that i make 10-20k every battle with little losses.

i´m on version 1.5.9. you can get dirtcheap carrying capacity by talking to villagers. If you stand outside of Jalmarys you can get them for around 10-20 gold each and they have the same carrying capacity as mules. if you don´t need more capacity you can slaughter them and get 3 unit of meat each. if you don´t want to buy the goods they carry with them just wait till they come back out of the city and approach them there.

  • @stinkfinger8700
    @stinkfinger8700 4 ปีที่แล้ว

as of right now, the easiest and quickest way to make money (denars) at the beginning of the game is to catch villagers as they are leaving a city after selling their products. they will sell you their old workhorses for anywhere from 5-10 denars each. then butcher them for meat. each horse butchers for 2 meat. then go back to the city and sell the meat.so if you buy 10 horses at 10 denar each = 100 denars= 20 meat. meats sell anywhere from 20-70 denars per. so that 100 you just spent at an avg of 30 per sells for 600 making you 500 in moments. can turn your 1000 starting denars into 10k in a matter of minutes from starting the game. rinse/repeat

Idk how effective adding extra parties are now, since they don't spawn with new units. I was always scared of being immediately annihilated starting a faction in warband. I am in Bannerlord. So I'm trying to help vlandia beat Southern Empire, Aserai, and Khuzaits. Trying to learn more. The only other factions stronger than my party. Eventually I'll try making my own. In fact right now I'll make a split save. In one I'll try to form my own, I was about to give it to vlandia. If you are interested I'll report on how each endeavor turns out. I've made a save, I'm going vlandia. Current strength 11268. I'll keep going but also try another save of making my own kingdom and allying to take them down. If people are interested I'll post updates on what learn. Depends on if people are interested

A good way to make mad stacks in the very very early game is to buy whatever the villages are producing. Some villages that produce horses etc sell them for cheap as fuck. They also have obscene amounts of the items. When I have about 10k at the start of the game, I go from village to village and buy all the horses and mules then go to vlandia and turn 10k into like 30k-ish in a couple weeks. Same can be done for everything villages produce.

I kinda disagree on your workshop theory, profit on workshops is derived by a mix of supply and demand. Supply is the price of the raw material which means the more there are the lower the price, and demand is the selling price. It's hard to control the demand part but supply is easily done by choosing a town with adjoining farms that make the product. You can see this by flooding the town with the raw material for example if you sell a ton of grain your brewery profit will increase. So by getting a city with villages already supplying the material you can get 1-200 profit consistently.
Conversely, you can build a workshop that has scarce resources. That will increase the price of the raw material in the city and you can then earn money selling that raw material. Example there is no hardwood producer in the city and you make a wood workshop. That will jack up the selling price of hardwood and you can then make a ton of profit selling wood to that city. After you flood the wood supply your workshop will then make a lot of profit and burn through the wood supply, thats the time you sell wood again. It makes more profit than manipulating the supply side but it also requires more effort cuz you need to keep buying lots of the material and selling it back to the city.

You only need 1 hint until the developers change it, craft upper level swords which takes all of about 30 minutes to an hour depending on how lucky you get with unlocking crafting items. You will very quickly be making swords that sell for 6 digits. Don’t worry about selling them all, just keep a few on your person. If you have enough they can be used to bribe attackers into letting you go free too.

Honestly the best way to make money is roll back to 1.0.0 and just take advantage of wood working shops being seriously broken... on your steam library right click on the game MNB2, go to properties, click on the "beta" tab and click the drop down and click on 1.0.0 now start a new game (because you can't load a game that's been started on a later patch) and make your 15k denars buy wood workshop (Osira is a really good one for some reason) and just go kill looters and pass by time and a few in game days later... well you'll see... then when you feel you have enough money just go update your patch back to current the same way and have fun :D

That Aserai horse trade is all you need early game. All that travelling will naturally boost stewardship and leadership (fighting random looters along the way) and of course trading. Buy Aserai horse at ~800 and sell for as much as 1900. Then flip cows from ~120 to ~300 in Aserai cities... it's so profitable. It will likely get nerfed... but not before that smithing which is also ridiculous way to make money.

Get recruits, auto against looters (huge experience against looters, nobody ever dies, you will have a high level army in a week of game play), join armies as a mercenary, keep all your loot, sell it all when it gets full, then go out and kick some more ass. Then buy all the shops you can and get max caravans going. Take castles for yourself and garrison with 100 good troops, so it won’t get taken. You will be making more money than you spend. Soon, you won’t have to keep loot, the money you get from beating lords is plenty.

What I've found is a somewhat stable short distance trade route is buying Silver in Lycaron and selling in Phycaon, despite being that short to one another the price difference seems to remain the same almost all the time. Probably AI caravans don't have time to do the trade themselves so you can make a steady income there if you wanted to.
Do you also by any chance know if the racial stat modifier for trade penalty reduction is for player caravans or player's own trades? If so that would basically make that a mandatory for anyone wanting to do manual player trade.

Just a tip on smelting and selling of you metall, first of just get a few hardwood to get the first coal after that if its a town that have access to a village that makes hardwood its usaly cheaper to buy wood hammers and pitchforks to smelt down for hardwood. Second is never ever sell the ore and metall in a town becaus of diminishing returns, wait outside for a caravan and sell the metall to them. No they dont have nearly as much money as a town, but they have a fixed price. And if you exit the trade with the caravan and immediately talk to them again there gold is replenished. Same if you are trying out trading, dont buy from towns buy from villages becaus they have a fixed price and sell to the caravans

    • @Embetebe
      @Embetebe 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I did the math and it isn't necessarily cheaper to buy wood hammers and smelt them down for hardwood. When you counter in the fact you need to use charcoal in to smelt down the wood hammers into wood, then it is possible to make a loss per unit - this is even if you have the 3 wood -> 2 charcoal perk. So if, for example, wood is being sold for 30d and wooden hammers are for 65d then you'd made a loss as you would need to one of the 3 woods gained in order to make the charcoal to spelt the wooden hammer. Hence it would be cheaper to buy 2 wood at 30d piece than to spend 65d on the hammer.
The other thing to factor in is you are wasting 10 energy in smelting the wood hammers into wood when you could be smelting a weapon into a piece of wood plus some metal component.
While buying and smelting wooden hammers might be cheaper, it isn't always. I've managed to find wood as cheap as 20d while the wooden hammers are significantly more than 40d to buy.

You have to make sure that the city you buy a workshop in is getting supplied with the raw material it uses. You cannot just choose a workshop that makes a really expensive item. You cant just make money off of a silver Smith because the products it makes are expensive. You have to make sure that city is being supplied with silver ore. This is the same for all resources/workshops.

Also regarding trading caravans you should not that if they get defeated/captured on the campaign map then that's it, 15,000 gold down the drain... so you better hope that your caravan pays for itself before it gets destroyed because once it's destroyed that initial investment is gone and your companion won't automatically try to rebuild the caravan (you have to go pay another 15k and reassign them to it).

I have seen many guides and methods explaining on how to make money. However, I think I have may have found a really good (no glitches) if not best way to make money in the relative early stages of the game. I will explain myself further. If you don’t want to read the whole story please scroll down where you’ll find a TL;DR
As you know there are plenty of ways to make money early on for example: killing looters, doing village/city quests or tournaments. I did this for a while and it got pretty boring. So, I decided to try something out. At this current time my Clan level was 2 and I had 3 shops (I’m not a fan of caravans don't judge me). I have an income of about 500 denars a day. Now, I know that many people discourage you from having a bigger party than around 25, but I do not, if you act smart!
My army consisted of about 60 well trained men; around 25 Imperial Legionaries, 25 Imperial Palantine Guard and 10 Imperial Heavy Horseman. I was able to pay this because I had 1. 3 shops which almost always covered my wages 2. I partook in every tournament I came across so I had a buffer of around 20k. It will take a while time your troops to level up because looters don’t give you much xp, that was why I decided to declare war on all of the minor factions the Southern Empire was at war with (I wanted to join Empress Rhagaea). What I did turned out very well but I would suggest declaring war on only one of them until you are strong enough to face more of them and confident, they won’t catch you off-guard and defeat you.
Each time I defeated a member of a minor factions usually with 0 casualties I let them go, to increase relations, charisma and get them on the map again so I can farm them again, also ransoming said person usually gives me only 600 denars (leader goes for 900 I think not sure) so it is not worth keeping them. By doing this a while you gain the following:
    • A small but elite army able to take on an army of 120 with relative ease
    • Tons of xp, money, loot, renown, prisoners and horses (I keep almost all the horses I get because they increase your speed and give you MEGA storage. Also, you need warhorses to get heavy cavalry! I have around 2000 horses in my inventory)
    • Good relations with the faction and person you are fighting (if you let them go)
    • Increased Charisma skill and an overall good reputation
At this time I was making good money but also spending it not too wisely on gear for my companions because I wanted them all to look the same like epic kings guard. I decided to join my favorite faction, the Southern Empire, but they wouldn’t let me because I was at war with a faction they weren’t. It was Battania.. This must have been a bug because I had done no harm to any of them whatsoever.
A Battanian Lord caught me off-guard when I was raiding a minor factions party with his 120 headstrong army. We slaughtered every single one of them with only 2 casualties, it was glorious. You can guess what I did next: I tried finding every Battanian party and hunted them like pigs. It went so well that I had to get back to a town after almost each battle selling all the loot and prisoners and releasing the Lord. Resulting in an even better and bigger army, relations, renown, charisma and most importantly money.
I could've gone on and on for days but there would be no fun in that. Seeing as I hunted down about every Lord except the big armies. They were at war with Vlandia and the Aserai and were very weakened and reduced to only 3 towns. I want to cleanse them myself one day so I made peace.
After the dust of battle cleared I joined the Southern Empire. We are currently rooting out the last of the Imperial traitors. Marking a new age for a stronger, reformed Empire. And lastly, I plan to marry Ira, heir to the Imperial throne of Calradia! They have a good relationship and my character needs to ask for her hand.
    TL;DR
My steps to becoming a rich and feared Bannerlord. I will divide it into three sections
    1. Starting out
    2. Creating your army
    3. Money and Glory
    1. Starting out
    • Get enough money to buy your first 3 workshops by doing village/town quests > doing as much tournaments as you can > buying your first workshop > rinse and repeat until you have 3
    • Pick your companions early on in the game, this is not needed to get a lot of money but will help out later in the game. Besides who doesn't want companions?
    • Gather recruits along the way and level them when you see fit (and if you have enough money) don't forget recruiting the cavalry units, you'll get horses along the way to level them up
    2. Creating your army
    • Try doing as much tournaments as possible while your workshops are being set up so you have some extra cash
    • By now your recruits should be leveled into low-tier troops, it is time to take on big bandit parties so you can level all your troops to mid-tier
    • Make sure you have enough food to feed your army and horses for speed and capacity.
    3. Minor factions and big money!
    • Now it’s time to attack a minor faction. I recommend declaring war on only one faction until you are strong enough to take on all minor factions in your preferred area
    • After each battle pick up all the loot and prisoners, you can sell these for big money at the nearest town but keep all horses as you will need them to upgrade your cavalry. Release the person you fought against after the battle, you'll get higher charisma (used for persuading), higher reputation, relations with said person and their faction
    • By doing this a while you should now have a strong army of around 60 troops consisting of around 25 elite infantry, 25 elite archers and 10 mid-tier cavalries
Now you are ready to take on a faction! Pick a weak faction and attack a vassal, repeat the steps I explained before and search for your next victim. The only thing you need to worry about is evading big armies. You should be making a minimum of 12k per battle (selling loot and prisoners included).
Increase your army so you can take on bigger parties, rinse and repeat until you've had enough and simply pay 8k to make peace.
And last but not least, learn to master the F1-F6 command!
I hope this was helpful, thank you for reading ;)

Some products are in high demand is a city is "prosperous." Look at their prosperity rating, if it's high, it increases the demand for pottery and jewelry! :) so it is one of those rare middle grounds where... You're taking advantage of the villages which also meet a demand for pottery, since it's a byproduct of clay. Same thing with Beer in Zeonica. Two grain villages but they produce beer which is in high demand :)

I had one in Marunath getting anywhere between +300 and +600 daily, and another in Omor which was also getting similar returns. The price of the finish good doesn't really matter match, proof is Ortysia. Ortysia has a village that produce silver ore, so silver ore is quite cheap in Ortysia, but Jewellery is still quite expensive there... however a silversmith workshop there will only make like 100-200 profit max. So yeah I've had the most luck with Pottery workshops. A Tanner in Odokh or Akkalat will do okay too though (250-400 on a good day, but average closer to 200).

my best profit was an average of 400+ a day, with a brewer in akkalat. brewers also work almost anywhere since every town has grain.

literally find a castle with low population, then attack it. you can leave your men behind and attack it on your own, use a spear. you can farm kill every enemy while on the ladder due to distance. you can farm higher population castles this way as well, but the issue is that it takes longer. also make sure it's a european castle, it's harder anywhere else due to positioning of where archers can shoot from. otherwise you can just spend 20-30 mins and have a castle.

trading is easy to level up, that is if youre aware of the price you bought the goods for, the amount of xp is based on the profit you make from the trade times you multiplier.

For trading to go up you need to make profit, my way is to stockpile resources when I see them being cheap and then sell them at a higher price. For example if I see linen cheaper then 40, I will buy and if I see it sells more than 80 I will sell.

@@gullev3321 the way i ended up trading after reaching 100 was buying fish for around 9-10 denars, and then selling 50-100 in each town i went to, it also works for grain or flax, but fish is easier to exploit since any town without sea access will bu it for around 20.
i never used trade rumors for anything other than seeing what it usually buys for and what i can sell it for, remember to stock op on mules/pack animals if you wanna trade in bulk.
also the later levels are few inbetween, so its more a question of persistence.

Good vid. One comment though, in my experience you are nowhere near end-game (based on your comment/pic). When you start spending 10hr rl constantly fighting and defending, then you are early end-game - yesterday and last night was so intense!!! And I know there's still more to come, as I'm nowhere near clearing out the other factions. It's awesome!!!!

    1. now and then you'll come across peasants that you have just freed from looters, of course you can use them as and addition to your troops but donating these peasants to one of your villages will make the existing peasant group to better defend themselves.
    2. if you think that your garrison upkeep is to high, you can transfer all of your garrisoned troops in to town militia garrison. at one click you'll get *free upkeep garrison*

You need horses with at least 40+ speed (so no Sumpter, old work, mules, etc)
You ideally want the same # of horses that you do foot soldiers. Plus if you have cavalry it will speed you up also.
Down in the bottom right is a breakdown of what's affecting your speed.
