They actually fit nicer than I thought they would, that's awesome for you. 👍👍👍

Not bad at all. Can't beat the price. Glad you're going this route.

Just did a fitment on my 64 1/2 right fender this morning. The "chinese" Dynacorn. Similar fitment as you got except for my gap at upper cowl cover is not as close. Your Mustang is coming along nice, keep up the good work.

For aftermarket fenders that a great fit. Aftermarket steel is always a battle

Nibble here, push there and pull over there beats cutting and fabbing everywhere. Looks like you are moving forward and keeping the project rolling. That was a big jump on the project.

Those look to fit pretty well and better than mine. They look like pics I have seen of another suppliers *improved* fenders. Unfortunately the Mustang suppliers don't have warehouses in the middle of the country so we get what we can here or pay $300 to have a pair of fenders shipped... Maybe if I can find a cheap 67 bare shell project I'll make a long trip to CJ pony.
Make a trip to Harbor freight and pick up their off brand PPS cup adapter and a set of cups. No cleaning cups and you can spray upside down. Good starting kit then you can get bigger kits on amazon. So much easier than cleaning spray gun cups.

Yeah I definitely feel for the mid west guys. I’m very fortunate with my location. Thanks for the Harbor Freight tip. I’ll pick some up this week. Thanks Robert!

I just got one from Kentucky mustang and it seems like it fits well just ordered the rest of the bolts I need for the bottom, then I'll know more but I'm happy, $211 each you got a good deal

I'll have to look at shipping to the west coast. For that price, those are nice units. How did the OE units fit? I'd compare their fitment to these. From the factory even the OE stuff didn't fit perfect.

That is not a bad fit considering it's a repro. 👍👍What size tires are those on your mustang??

Wow those fit nice, mine on my 66’ were a bit more of a challenge. The passenger side still doesn’t fit right.

I am fitting the headlight mounting hardware and have run into an issue with an new aftermarket fender. I have made some adjustments but still needs a bit more. Also the fender has 2 bolts which mount to the engine apron and the location is off about a 1/2" causing the gap between the fender and the door.

According to Jodaddy, those gaps are what the original gaps were like.

I might be interested in part of your parts car when you are done stripping it. I'm building a 65 Mustang Hardtop.

Fit looks acceptable to me. How does the steel gauge compare to the OEMs?

    • @GreaseRookie
      @GreaseRookie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I’ll have to measure the gauge. I don’t believe they specify on the website. The new fenders are significantly lighter than the originals.

The fitment on those is about as good as my OEM ones

That’s good to hear. CJ Pony did a good job with these fenders.

Don't expect perfect fitment unless you are planning on welding and grinding. Besides factory cars were not that close either.

aftermarket body panels are junk for the most part, oem panels fit the best
