Craziest thing is, when Choi Siwon was predicting the rise of a Korean superstar on world stage, something like BTS must haven't even been in his mind. He may have been thinking about one of his many talented juniors or the more popular Big 3 artists. No one saw BTS coming (except maybe Bang PDnim) but oh boy did they arrive.

As an Army from the beginning, I can say that this series is very accurate and well put together. It’s almost as if I am experiencing each event over and over again and it’s such a nice feeling to have it documented and organized in one place like these videos.
Of course there will be moments of anger and sadness, but the joy and happiness of how far BTS has come will allow you to appreciate them in a deeper way. Enjoy and I’ll be watching along with you guys, can’t wait!!

As someone who didn’t know they existed until two years ago Im always so amazed seeing Veteran Army’s from the beginning. It’s not really my place to thank you but still - thank you for sticking with them from the beginning. I truly believe that those few thousands who were with them in 2013 made an impact for them with all your kind words towards them. I am glad Army grew slowly … our bond with them is just stronger that way and everything worked out well even if it was hard for BTS and Army. Knowing them from the beginning is really special in my opinion. 🥺💜

What a great documentary! Im hooked already,, and I'm looking forward to Chapter 2! For anyone still believing that BTS' success was overnight, here's the evidence that it wasn't. It took years of training, hard work, and struggle to get where they are now! I can't imagine everything that they, and other idols, have to go through to make their dreams come true; even this documentary only gives a small insight into the challenges they face. Much respect to them, it's a tough industry, and they deserve to be at the top!
I've watched the entire series and it's amazing! It's so well-put together, professionally. And as a baby ARMY, this series allowed me to be a part of their journey. From the get go, BigHit really gave them creative freedom, supported their well-being, and made them train with quality in mind. As you continue watching, you will see their "onward, forward/growth mindset" which really sets them apart in the music business. Kudos to the editor of this series (I believe it's only 1 person?!)! And thank you guys for always giving such great reactions! 💜

I remember back at the beginning, watching these diaries BTS made. I didn't know what they said most of the time, but the way they joked with each other and held others up made an impression on me even before they debuted. It was RM that did it, he spoke with such conviction and heart and that was IT for me. Army, stand UP. 💜💜💚💚

When they say their age, it's Korean age, for international age deduct 1 to 2 years. Koreans are born at age "1" and add 1 year at new years eve. Taehyung turned "2" 2 days after his birth.

I think I haven't cried so much in my entire life like I did while watching the "The Rise of Bangtan" dokumentary!!🥺😭🤧 Bangtans story is so touching, sometimes heartbreaking, so inspiring, heartwarming and beautiful! So many sad and happy tears are flowing but so much happiness in my soul everytime I see them smile, having fun, being so positive and seeing their loving brotherly bond with eachother 💜

oh wow, I've been an army for over 6 years and it's the first time i've watched this video but im so glad to be able to watch it with y'all! even tho i've seen almost all the clips used already, seeing BTS' early will always hit me a special way. I knew BTS had a rough start (that’s one of the many reasons I became a fan), but I wasn’t ready to watch them going through all of their hardships alone. First of all I love your intro skit. It made me laugh and happy. I'm so excited that you guys finally are reacting to the series. I think I have watched it 5 or 6 times already but yes I stuck to the end and I will definitely rewatch every chapter with you guys. TRoB series are truly the best that every BTS fan should watch. Just remember the age the members talked about were actually 1-2 years off comparing to international age. I think for Korean age people are already 1 year old at birth and grow another year on New Year. So the fact that BTS members were actually a lot younger makes everything more impressive.

I think the difference between our Bangtan Boys and other groups comes from how they were treated by Hitman Bang right from the start. At 20.59 in the video he talks about how he didn’t force set amounts of practice and such. He just gave them access to it all and the boys worked hard accordingly. Just this whole attitude towards them built a foundation for excellence. Also, Hitman had such an incredible sense for choosing these boys out of so many. Along with being so talented, they are simply good people. The auntie who fed them said it: they are different from other kids. Hitman caught lightning in a bottle with BTS! We are so lucky that we are here in the right time and place to enjoy it!

As you keep watching more of these, remember that when they say their ages they are talking about their Korean age which is 1-2 years older than what we think of. They were young by Korean age but they were HELLA young by international age.

I cried a lot while watching this video, they hurt and tired a lot until they reached this stage, BTS is not just a band I listen to their songs, it's my family, who supported me in the most difficult times, they are my refuge, they were with me while everyone abandoned me, even my smile!

That was really eye opening. The hard work they have put in blows my mind. They deserve everything they have accomplished and more. Koreans are very hard working. I worked with an office full of Koreans and loved every minute of it. I have so much respect for BTS. You guys are so much fun to watch. You make me laugh 😂 every time. i find it easy to watch how hard they started because we already know they made it. but i think back then, it must be really scary for these boys because youre there doing all the hard work and sacrifices and not knowing if they would even debut. i remember jhope saying that the hardest part about predebut was people asking them when they will debut. also, im grateful that these boys started with the non-mainstream company because they dodge the ugly competitions among trainees and the ruthlessness of those huge companies back in the days. i think this is why these boys are truly humble because they werent really taught to be boastful as trainees.

They were so young, and remember when they mention their age, it's usualy Korean age, which means they actually were 1 or 2 years younger then that, according global age.
JK was only 13 yo when he moved to Seoul to become a trainee, and 15 yo at debut. Jin as the oldest was 20.
