Second, as for War of Hormone…I’ve been teaching 7th grade girls in my youth group at church for 18 years, and that is exactly what I tell them. Boys don’t want a relationship, that is not where their mind is. Did the lyrics offend me? No, I know too many teenage boys. I look at this song as a Public Service Announcement to girls: Be aware and beware!

I'm glad he didn't go solo, I'm glad Yoongi didn't decide on being a producer only, I'm glad Hobi believed in his brothers and stayed because I CANNOT IMAGINE a world without JITB a d Equal Sign, I'm glad Jiminie auditioned and remained strong throughout the hate and threats, I'm glad Taehyungie came with his friend and decided to go and I'm so glad for Jungkookie to have seen Namjoonie and decided that yes that is who he wants to follow.

My Army friend who works at the United Nations was able to observe the group. She said while the members are resting or goofing around, RM has his eyes fixed on them. He watches them from afar and never loses sight of them. JK would sporadically break into dance. Jin and V would be quietly resting, but all under the watchful eye of RM.

I find it refreshing that the guys had the courage to admit, 'Hey, this is the kind of thing that happens in the mind of a teenage boy when he sees a cute girl.' Everyone who's been through high school knows what it's like when young people get into adolescence and their bodies wake up in unexpected ways. But heaven forfend that anyone actually talk about it! Compared to so much of the stuff that played and aired through the 80s and 90s, WoH is an baby lamb; even without comparison, it's a fun, catchy song about 'boy sees cute girl and hormones start to carbonate'. Somebody wants to go clutching pearls about sexist lyrics, I'll direct 'em to Aerosmith or Frankie Goes to Hollywood, or maybe some of the 90s rap... /eyeroll

I love war of hormone. I think it's a fun song that talks about the feelings that are felt at that time. I'm impressed that BTS and big hit used it as a learning experience but I know they never meant anything rude by any of their lyrics. Also the kick out j-hope # was and is disgusting. Just every time.. every single time I watch these episodes, I am always in tears. First, my heart hurts so much for Hobi during that vlog. He was so hurt and he didn't deserve it. If y'all remember Tony from American Hustle Life, he tweeted that time defending Hobi.

I’m the same way. I’m not necessarily into kpop. I’m in love with Bts. My daughter got me into them and now she’s opening me up to Stray Kids. I like them but I won’t ever feel the same feelings for them that I do for Bts. Bts are so special in so many ways.

I'm Korean and I'm not even fully into Kpop anymore. I stopped after Big Bang's controversy (well, Seung Ri, really)... and I got turned off... 2015? BTS is the one who's bringing me back. I thank BTS for making me proud of my culture again. Borahae BTS. Especially Jhope... when I learned about Jhope's history of the unfair rejection, he became my favorite. I soon learned he and I have the same birthday and he BECAME my soulmate. To hear this breaks my heart, because my soul was torn apart. I love you Jhope, so much. I'm so proud of all of their accomplishments so far, but the best is yet to come!

As a mama army to a girl I think this is incredible. The mark all 7 have had on countless people is more than any bad story people will push. My daughter has heard a lot more upsetting things from music right now. The fact they’ve made my introverted daughter feel enough and have given her confidence more than anything. The fact people bully just because of jealousy and attack them is weak behaviour. They’ve proved and continue to prove any and every hater wrong. "War of Hormone" never bothed me. I grew up with rap songs calling women bit*hes & hoes & loosers. So "War of hormone" is almost respectful compared to that. "Born singer" makes me cry & get chills every time! And RM was my first BTS crush. The first video I saw/first song I heard from BTS was "Dope" in 2016 (tho it came out a year earlier) and RM says "Welcome, first time to BTS?" (It was!) And I have been lost in love ever since. I felt all the emotions with you guys. Start off mad because of attacks on JHope, then admiration for the wonderful leader RM, and finally just love for the fellas for being the great people they were then and are to this day.
In WOH the line "The girls are just equations and we guys do them" is actually we guys solve them in Korean.... It was a translation error but the haters hold this and used it against them.....
knowing/ learning Korean helps so much...even for the recent Festa video, I was surprised at the reaction cos it was clear to me from their remarks in Korean tt they were not disbanding, just going into a more "off" period

I’m a woman and although I’m not AT ALL offended by the song and agree that the backlash was unnecessary, I can see why War of Hormone was easily misinterpreted. All three of you are guys so it might be easy to say that this issue was “blown out of proportion” but we can’t invalidate the girls out there who experience subtle objectification and catcalling/disrespect disguised as compliments. Those bad experiences are probably why they got the wrong idea/ might have treated this as a big deal.
It all boils down to the intent behind words and as we all know, BTS don’t have a mean bone in their body so ofc they didn’t mean to offend or degrade anyone. What matters is that they dealt with this issue maturely and grew from it (Namjoon even consults with a specialist regarding his lyrics). It goes to shows how sensitive they are to their diverse fanbase and how much love they show for ALL fans and their personal/societal struggles and experiences ❤️

There are people upset about this series for no reason. RM invited people in recent interviews to watch the history and all they documented to show. He said this is part of what builds that connection with their fans to understand the hardship they went through and how they got through it. It is the most thrilling, difficult, and hardworking journey to rise from the bottom to the top. 💜 Aneesa just puts the timeline of documented occurrences together.

I'm sitting here and trying to compose my words and I'm struggling. I've followed BTS for eight years now. I'm not a Army but they could be my grandsons. As a person who needs music which words have always touched my heart and the sound makes the song. These seven young men have gone through such hardships that no one should ever be exposed to. I've always said, that with one word you can either build a person up or you can kill them. People have tried to kill with their words without a hesitation of thought towards BTS. With in those words each member has suffered. But you know what? These young men while hurting have risen up, above and beyond their own expectations. It'd hard to hear them speak on pain from other's and just a glance at their expressions at times is very hard to swollow. I watched this video and my heart just broke. So once more I wiped my eyes, I laughed and I sat still. My hope for them is that they find what they love, they continue to dream and they live healthy. Much more but I'll stop there. Knowing how you’ve all always been huge advocates of Hobi’s sheer talent & vibrant personality, it hit hard seeing your reaction to the vile backlash he experienced. Knowing & seeing the respect & love that’s showered on him today, it’s hard to believe that he had to experience that.

I'm a girl and I really like War of Hormone. I'm not going to say the lyrics don't warrant at least some criticism, but they were still really young at the time and didn't mean anything rude. To the people who were seriously offended by the lyrics, there's 21st Century Girl. And the people who wrote those awful things about Hoseok are deplorable. He is our talented, wonderful, amazing sunshine.

I always try and remember that people who spew hate, really are hating themselves. What one puts out in the world is reflection of what is on the inside. Hurt people hurt, and it sucks for people that don't deserve the horrible vitriol on the receiving end.
Love your channel, but there are misogynistic lyrics in War of Hormone and some of their earlier songs. But still, they handled the backlash perfectly and proved they understood why it was wrong
no, no there aren’t any misogynistic lyrics in WOH. Maybe you’re too young and grew up with the term “misogyny” being thrown around a lot by people who don’t know what it means. If you’re not too young then you don’t even have this excuse, just do your research.
@@priiifrg beloved, I've been a fan since predebut and speak Korean. This isn't coming from a place of ignorance or misunderstanding. I believe their lyrics to have had misogynistic undertones. And obviously bts believed that as well, otherwise they wouldn't have gone back and changed the lyrics to Cypher 2 or asked Women's Studies professors to look over their work.

If you watched RM talking about the issue over WOH he obviously did not understand or agree with the accusations, but was FORCED to 'apologize' because of all the bashing. They did what they had to do to try and solve the 'scandal'.

The begging of this video gotta said got me so mad, to see how much hatred J-Hope had to endure, to see him so sad and down, questioning if he should stay or leave the group fucking hurt. I’ve never seen someone so pure at heart as him and the others as well and they don’t deserve all the hate they got in the begging and still this day. on another note, I’m 38yrs old and when I hear War of Hormones at first I just laughed, because as a teenager that’s what girls and boys usually think at the age. So to me it was a cute and funny video all together. Seeing all their struggles from the beginning until now, and see all they have accomplished makes me proud even more and respect them even more not only as musicians, performers but as humans being. They Despite of all they remained humble and pure above all. Love BTS forever 💜💜

I still remember in 2015 feeling like there had to be a breakthrough because it had been two years and they still hadn't won an award (from this weekly show which is big deal in kpop) 2015 was the year of to be or not to be. How glad I am that they released I need you and then dope. I still remember those wonderful times when I waited with excitement for the videos for I need you and Dope to come out. I would also like to say that it is true that you can find BTS when you need them, but even more importantly, even if you take a break from them, when things get really bad in your life they will help you again (my experience) and I aprreciate them even more now. But whatever happens according to the message of the boys I want to be a better person and love myself. And I wish you all, no matter how difficult your situation is, to love yourself and your beautiful soul first. I love you army.

You're the most hilarious reactors and I love it! I watch you all the time. I personally like War of Hormones and I don't think the boys (back then) meant anything negative when writing that song. There is always someone who has to start crap which explodes into more crap. On tbe issue with Hobi, he was going to leave and decided to stay. I am sooo happy he did! Bts without Hobi or Rm, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Tae, and Jk would not be Bts. They all are a piece of the puzzle. Keep doing what you're doing...Have a Great Say! ✌💜
I never got the controversy over War of hormones...I loved the song, still do. They wrote it after meeting the girls in AHL.

Man...I have been away for a hot minute! Another great one...looks like I've got a handful of videos to binge since I gotta catch up. Always makes me so mad to be reminded of the unnecessary hate they got as a group and as individuals. Those people who want to "tease their keyboards" and say hurtful things about any of the guys...uh I'd like to see their credentials...I'd like to see what work they're putting in to be better, do better and be a force of positive change. Yeah, that's what Bangtan set out to do and they continue to do so. Would love to know where those haters are at now in their own stories. Oh and the hate for War of Hormone...I like the song. I did not take it as misogynistic in the slightest. Do people have any idea how many songs out there have similar lyrics that never got hate...or some songs that are blatantly worse that didn't really get hate.
