    I bought one of these earlier this year and I highly recommend! I use it as my only bbq as im in a apartment complex and only cooking for me. Great build quality and awesome for steaks, burgers and even can smoke a 4lb brisket no problem!

    Sold mine a couple of weeks ago after having it for a couple of years. It never sealed well, even with adding a a gasket. Getting the charcoal grate and ash tray out were always a hassle. Nothing worked smoothly. The back hinges of the lid bent easily which always impacted how even it wouldn’t/wouldn’t close. Bought a PKGO last week and love it. Better grill. Every but as sturdy but not as heavy and much more versatile.

    Hey Tom, I bought mine second hand and noticed an "issue". I was watching "TonyTone BBQ" and his "Part 2 - curing and seasoning Oaklahoma Joe Judge" (A standing large version of the Rambler) and he pointed out he installed the smoke stack incorrectly. The issue is the top baffle / spring and nut need to be removed and then inserted through the lid to the top and then installed by the three bolts /nuts. (The flange should not be on top, but rather inside the lid). Then reinstall the baffle, spring and nut on the smoke stack. That should eliminate any smoke leaks. Hope this helps!

      Thanks for Watching! As I stated…. The lid did not for correctly on the inside but was better with gasket on the outside….

    I like it a lot. The design I’m familiar with. The MGrill M-16 is the same idea, this is a much more affordable solution.
    I really like this design with the adjustable tray, the M16 doesn’t have that feature, with practice it’s not necessary- but would be handy.

    Nice video showing this grill, and your thoughts of it. I went another route and purchased a "clone" of the Rambler. Arrives tomorrow, will surely do an unboxing video and of course a cooking video on it. Cost was under a hundred dollars and I am wondering if it is comparable. Thanks for the always great videos. I rarely comment.

    I watched some other Rambler videos and it seems other people mounted the exhaust stack on the inside lf the lid and it looks to seal better. I think the pictures on Amazon also show it mounted from the inside of the lid.

      Ive had mine a couple of years. You dont notice the adjustment handles whne using the Rambler. They do allow for the grill to go from indirect to sear by raising the charcoal, and outting the ptrogtein over the coals. Works really well

    You’re supposed to slide the chimney through the bottom and through the hole for a tight fit

    • @Kevusa88
      @Kevusa88 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I put it on wrong at first like yours and I caught it on the instructions. The plate is supposed to be on the underside of the lid and the chimney through the hole.

    Idea - if you break your videos into separate chapters/sections, you can label one 'Why I mounted the chimney on the outside' and maybe you'll get fewer people trying to 'correct' you.

    I guess time will tell, but it seems that making the charcoal tray adjustable is overkill. I subscribe to the Tom School of "Super Simple". Curious if the air flow from under the grate will get impeded with ash on longer cooks. And as usual, Tom nails the cook, no matter the grill.

    The TOOL that comes with it that you show is NOT for the charcoal tray as you used it 😂😂 Its for the Cast Iron GRATES, so you can lift them out/move them without getting your hands burned or dirty. 😂 So, basically, with Charcoal, you REMOVE the grates to add the charcoal then you light the charcoal and once the coals get hot you have to put the grates back on, and you wpuldnt want to do that and burn your hands, sooooo, they give you that tool to do that without hurting yourself. Has NOTHING to do with what you showed. 😂😂😂 Alllllso, the chimney is to be installed from the INSIDE! You said it didnt fit right, and OBVIOUSLY it didn't because you installed it INCORRECTLY. 🤦‍♀️🤣
