I'm not much of a Drake fan at all, but 2015 Drake was EVERYWHERE. Every bar, club, etc. With WATTBA, IYRTITL, Hotline Bling, the Meek Mill beef, etc. etc. TPAB is the best album of the year but 2015 felt like Drake's year.
KRIT easily wins 2011 for me. Return of 4EVA is one of the best mixtapes of the 2010s as well bringing the best feature on Undun, Make My. And an amazing verse on Murder act 2 on the most slept on album of 2011, Oneirology. He also had his biggest single, Country Shit which wasn’t even part of RO4EVA. Shoutout to the King of the South!
Here is my list 2010: Kanye West - it’s so obvious 2011: Drake - he dropped singles like dreams money can buy, trust issues, marvin’s room club paradise, free spirit & headlines, and he closes out the year with take care one of the best albums of the 2010s decade 2012: Kendrick Lamar - GKMC, no questions 2013: Kanye West - Yeezus rollout, tour, he definitely bringing the experimental music to the mainstream 2014: Nicki Minaj - she had a crazy run in 2014, she dropped two songs with Beyoncé flawless remix and feelin myself, and she closes out her year with the pinkprint 2015: Future - he had one of the best runs in hip hop history, he dropped 2 mixtapes, Beast Mode and 56 Nights, he dropped DS2 and a collab album with Drake What a Time to be Alive 2016: Drake - Views, feature run and touring 2017: Kendrick Lamar - DAMN dropped, feature run 2018: Travis Scott - Travis dropped one of the biggest marvel in hip hop, his feature run, the rollout, the visuals to this album 2019: DaBaby - he dropped two albums, xxl freshman, and the feature run 2020: Lil Baby - he had a dominant run, he had the biggest and most streamed album of 2020 My Turn, he went on a insane feature run 2020 was the year for Lil Baby
I think Future takes 2015. Not only do you get a top 3 Trap Rap album of all time (DS2), but you also get possibly his best mixtape (56 Nights), a radio/club friendly Drake collab, a laid back Zaytoven mixtape, and multiple great features.
Before watching here’s mine 2010 - Kanye (MBDTF) 2011 - Kendrick (Section 80) Danny brown close tho 2012 - Kendrick (GKMC) 2013 - Kanye (Yeezus) 2014 - Freddie Gibbs (Piñata) 2015 - Kendrick (TPAB) 2016 - Danny Brown (Atrocity Exhibition) 2017 - Kendrick (DAMN) 2018 - Kanye (KSG, Ye, Daytona, NASIR) 2019 - Freddie Gibbs (Bandana) (idk if we’re counting Tyler but I’m not, if we were I’d say him tho.) 2020 - Freddie Gibbs (Alfredo) Edit: completely forgot about acid rap, def would put that for 2013.

Freddie Gibbs is overrated
@@kuatulyyy compared to J Cole? Are you taking the piss? J Cole is the most overrated rapper of all time

Love Lukas 2016 take. Looking back Cole was definitely King that year all through
I'm not much of a Drake fan at all, but 2015 Drake was EVERYWHERE. Every bar, club, etc. With WATTBA, IYRTITL, Hotline Bling, the Meek Mill beef, etc. etc. TPAB is the best album of the year but 2015 felt like Drake's year.

Nipsey Hussle “Victory Lap” was hands down my favorite album of 2018. But Daytona was a really close 2nd!!! I’m not mad at Pusha getting that year.
i would’ve shout out Weezy on 2011.
He dropped Carter 4 with hits left right and center as well as fire features
KRIT easily wins 2011 for me. Return of 4EVA is one of the best mixtapes of the 2010s as well bringing the best feature on Undun, Make My. And an amazing verse on Murder act 2 on the most slept on album of 2011, Oneirology. He also had his biggest single, Country Shit which wasn’t even part of RO4EVA. Shoutout to the King of the South!
