- The final episode of the Super Mario Bros Super Show Cartoon - Robo Koopa. Originally aired 30-Nov-1989
Mario and friends arrive in Robo Land and get attacked by King Koopa who's wearing a robo suit. They meet up with Bunsen, a robot Mushroom who temporarily gets rid of Koopa. Bunsen then takes Mario and friends to Dr. Nerdnick, the man who was tricked into building the robo suit and is now being held captive by Koopa's guards. Everything is going well until Koopa returns and captures Princess and Toad.

This is such a walk down memory lane for me. I would have a bag of David Sunflower Seeds, a can of Pepsi, and watch this in utter amazment of the fact that I was watching a character from a game I had just played an hour ago on my Nintendo.
love how they're saying such nice things about captain lou when in reality they know he and mario are the same person

A bit of a shame that we never got to see Bunsen again.
She seemed like an interesting character.
We never got to see Hooded Robin again either. I know that character was a parody of Robin Hood (obviously), but he had the neat power of imitating any voice.
I'm gonna miss these cartoons, maybe there will be another Mario show sometime after the movie.

Looks like this episode helped inspire part of the plot of Mario Sunshine, with the character of Dr. Nerdnick being the inspiration of Professor E. Gadd

I noticed that as a kid too! 5 year old me was pretty scared now that I remember, I had this episode and "Count Koopula" on VHS and I remember pausing in horror, honestly I don't remember why, but it scared the begeesus outta me.

i know, i was just thanking him for uploading the whole series to youtube for us. But yeah i your right i watched quite a few episodes on the family channel in the early 90's when i was a child.That's why i came back to watch th whole series this time.

This episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show is based on the 1987 movie "RoboCop".
Aren't they all based on a movie of some kind?
Batopia no, but many of them revolve around real-world human history, such as "Rolling Down the River" on the American 19th century or "Quest for Pizza" being set in the Stone Age, or like you said, "The Provalone Ranger" is based off of "The Lone Ranger"-
and RoboCop wasn't exactly kid friendly either (even though I like the 2nd one better than the 1st)
What better movie to parody than the one where the hero has his arm blown off and then gets shot in the head in the beginning!
They also made kid Friendly than the 1987 film.

In the older days, the colors were inverted. Same with Luigi.
There's a lot that I don't like about this cartoon, but I would pay for a soundtrack to it, as long as it included the song that starts playing at 12:32.
